There is a big difference between no mask mandate at a state level, and no mask mandate at local/county levels, or mass mandates by businesses, etc. In GA there is no mask mandate, but good luck finding the very rare store that doesn’t demand you wear one. In TN on the other hand, on a recent trip, we found only Pigeon Forge (a serious tourist area that likely cares about what all the “Karen” tourists will say on Twitter, etc.) and major hotel chains, cared at all about mask wearing and nobody was wearing them anywhere. So still good to check before you find yourself unable to stay anywhere or eat anywhere.
