SUNDAY MORNING CLASSICS ON TBP

A collaboration of: “The Classic Music Mafia”
nkit, Austrian Peter, and Steve C.

Every Sunday morning we present selections for our TBP family to enjoy.

We present symphonies, ensembles, quartets, octets, etc.

Not all of our music is strictly ‘classical’. We may stray a little, but we strive to make all of our selections ‘classy’.

We offer tips on proper ‘symphony etiquette’ and even some selections that are a bit light-hearted and fun aimed at a younger audience. Those pieces will be so designated, and might be a good way to introduce kids to a world of music that they might not have been exposed to or think of as old and ‘stuffy’.

A full symphony will run as long as it will. We don’t want to cut a symphony short. However, we also include some shorter pieces that we try to keep under fifteen minutes in length. You can sample each and hopefully find one or more that pleases you.

We hope that you enjoy our Sunday selections.

Now We Are Free

Today, you will hear the beautiful music produced by Joslin D’Souza, or just plain Joslin.

Joslin was born in the peaceful country of ‘Oman’. (dont know where it is…heres a hint, it’s the only country in the world that begins with an ‘O’).

He was exposed to music from a very young and tender age of 4. He started playing by ear, emulating his father and brother on the piano and soon began his formal lessons in classical piano.

He studied under the academic curriculum of the Royal School of Music, London. Along side school, Joslin performed at many talent contests, grabbing the first place in nearly all the events. In 1995 he was invited to perform and demonstrate live on electronic keyboards for Casio and YAMAHA Inc. in collaboration with McDonalds. He was also a regular performer at his local church.

Joslin then moved to the United States for higher education at the University of Toledo and then to further his music education at the University of North Texas, Denton. While there Joslin began composing and writing music, which would later end up becoming his first album, The Lone Traveler. His first album was released on Jan 16th 2006.

He has numerous violinists and celloists but Emily Burak seems to be his favorite violinist. She is both talented and attractive. She began playing violin at the age of three. She graduated from North Texas University. She has performed with Stevie Wonder, The Eagles, Dierks Bentley, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Buble and many other well known artists.

We’ll start this off with a piece that many musicians love to play. It is Joslin’s arrangement of “Now We Are Free.” It is a beautiful arrangement especially by Joslin and Emily.

Her violin work is fantastic. Their play together is stunning.

It Must Have Been Love

The next piece is titled “It Must Have Been Love,” a song inspired by the movie “Pretty Woman.”

Time

Next up is a piece titled “Time” – a piece of beautiful music originally penned by the great Hans Zimmer.

This piece also includes the cello of Tess Crowther.

Beautiful.

Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet

Henry Mancini and Nino Rota co-wrote this beautiful Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet.

Joslin and Emily play it flawlessly.

Schindler’s List Theme

We’ll top this off with Emily and Joslin’s rendition of “Schindler’s List Theme.”

It is beautiful music penned by John Williams.

Have a great Sunday!

Love Joslin’s rendition of TIME. Thank you for another beautiful set of songs.

Do you foresee showing any pieces played by children? Was watching several performances by prodigies. The music is beautiful, but the joy on their faces is priceless.

Just one example.

Thanks again and see you next week.
