Garth Gagnier said his son, Logan, simply went to sleep Friday night after spending the evening with his grandparents and a sibling, and seemed to be late rising Saturday morning.
“My oldest daughter ran upstairs just to see if he was okay and found him unresponsive and… he’d been gone for hours,” Gagnier said as his eyes welled up with tears.
Gagnier said the boy had no known health issues, and a preliminary autopsy came back as inconclusive.

A rookie San Jose police officer who joined the agency after a San Jose State football career that took him from junior-college walk-on to lead running back died suddenly over the weekend, according to authorities.
DeJon Packer, 24, was found dead Sunday afternoon at his Milpitas home, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office and a law-enforcement source. The Milpitas Police Department’s press log shows that officers were called to the home for a report of a sudden death.
Additional details about the circumstances of Packer’s death were not immediately released. The coroner’s office stated that an official cause of death is still pending.

Dunn, the CEO of Assiniboia Downs, was down in Arizona recruiting horsemen for the upcoming racing season.
Warner, board chair of the Manitoba Jockey Club, which operates the Downs, was back in Winnipeg. Both men were excited about the prospect of a post-pandemic, “normal” season at the 64-year-old track on the west edge of Winnipeg.
“He sent me a text message that he was experiencing chest pains,” an emotional Dunn recalled on Thursday. “And out of an abundance of caution he wanted to go to Grace Emergency to get it checked out, which of course I assured him made good sense.”
A few hours later, another MJC board member called Dunn to tell him Warner had died.
In his mid-seventies and the picture of health, the man who led the charge to save the sport in Manitoba nearly 30 years ago and was the face of it ever since was gone.

Hospital attack: Post mortem says youth died of heart attack

Nagpur: The post mortem report of Rahul Baliram Iwanate has revealed that heart attack was the cause of the 28-year-old’s sudden death on January 26 or 27. The report mentions that he had around 96% blockage in heart.
All findings in the post mortem report point to natural death and rule out any foul play or suicide. Videography of the post mortem examination had also been conducted.
Interpreting the report for TOI, a well known cardiologist explained it means the patient had blockages. “He suffered a major heart attack. Arrythmia – a type of ventricular disorder, blockage in major artery, and heart valve rupture are among some possibilities causing sudden death in such cases,” he said. The cardiologist said it is uncommon in young patients but the incidence is rising now because of smoking and tobacco habits. “As compared to Western countries, heart attack is increasing in younger population in India. The patient was unfortunate to have this event. If he had symptoms, best option was to reach the hospital early. Angioplasty or blood thinners help dissolve clotting,” he said.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police in Charge Force Criminal Investigations Department, and head of Abba Kyari probe panel, DIG Joseph Obiajulu Egbunike is dead. Vanguard gathered that DIG Egbunike was feeling uncomfortable during the weekend and on Tuesday went to see the Doctor for a medical check-up after which he was given drugs and told to go.
Minutes later the senior officer who was said to have driven to office in company of family and was his usual bubbling self slumped and died.

The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force said its rank and file members are stunned at the sudden death of one of their female colleagues. Constable Nivlyn Moore, who was attached to the Grand Division of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) died on Wednesday, after complaining of not feeling well, a news release from Commissioner of Police Trevor Botting, said.
‘It is with overwhelming sadness and sorrow that I have to report tonight that, one of our police family has suddenly passed away,” Botting stated. “Constable Nivlyn Moore who worked with the Investigation Team on Grand Turk, took ill today after a few days of feeling unwell and despite the best efforts of our health colleagues, Constable Moore sadly passed away this evening.”
