It is not a difficult concept, our perceptional reality is forged by our experiences and environment.. The reality of someone who has experienced economic depression is much different from someone who has not. The reality of someone who has lived through war or dictatorship is different that people who have not.
Perception is forged from personal experience, and those experiences change with each generation. Combine that with the fact that every action has an equal and opposite reaction, and you see how this pattern can begin to form.
