Once upon a time, it seemed to be the Soviets, and they alone, who did the sort of thing that Winston Smith does for a living at the Ministry of Truth—change the historical record, to maintain the Inner Party’s absolute “control” not only of the present but, especially, the future, as noted in the quote above. The Soviets’ routine manipulation of the photographic record—so as retroactively to “disappear” (today we would say “cancel”) no-longer-tolerable members of the Politburo—was demonstrated vividly in The Commissar Vanishes: The Falsification of Photographs and Art in Stalin’s Russia, a book by David King, published in 1997.

It was one of the most watched versions of the intercepted and leaked conversation between then Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Geoffrey Pyatt, the then U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, in which the two discuss who will make up the new government weeks before democratically-elected Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych was overthrown in a violent coup on Feb. 21, 2014.
The two talk about “midwifing” the unconstitutional change of government and “gluing it together” and of the role the then Vice President should play and what meetings to set up with Ukrainian politicians.

I’d actually be fine with California seceeding, but much like Donbass, places like Orange county and a few other strongholds of liberty would likely suffer even worse than they do now.
If they did secede, you’d see confiscartion of all firearms, everyone chipped, physical currency cancelled, all retirement accounts seized by the state, etc., every totlaitarian dictum realized.
Plus, the Red Chinese immigration would skyrocket.
California is not the pussy state some think it is. The way the Democrats/Communist’s have redistricted the state they don’t even need to campaign to win elections. California government can’t muster an army large enough to confiscate a pocket knife let alone fire arms. It’s my believe that Trump didn’t lose California. The democrat machine is unstoppable without an armed conflict. Before we go off the rails here, the reality is the red sates are in a similar situation. Texas, the state everyone wants to tout as the big strong hold of conservative ideals is under attack by the same fools who have destroyed California. So where are those liberty mined Texans with their massive store of firearms and cowboy mentality to exact justice for a conservative state under the throws of a complete invasion from the southern border and the left wing progressives infiltrating and destroying their government and state. It’s not so easy. We must restore our spirit to fight back or die a death of a thousand cut.
The answer is not states seceding but just cities. Put a big blue wall around the cities and big signs for those entering;
“you are now entering a Left Wing territory. Please leave your logic, sanity, religion, gender, guns and rationality at the entrance gate”
Then all the freaks could congregate in their favorite street-shitting hell hole and have whatever ridiculous rules and ideas they want, safely separated from the rest of the still moderately sane.
Ostrization could make a comeback too. If enough people think someone is a dickhead, they could vote to banish them to one of the cities for a decade.
Those inside the cities could apply to be released, but there would have to be a stringent test to make sure they were not bringing the freakshow mentality with them. And a probationary period when they could be summarily deported for suggesting a Tranny reading hour for grade schoolers.
I like it, there may be some variation of your suggestion that could work. Instead of one state of California you would have the 58 states of California. One state per county. It would be totally unmanageable and that’s what would make it work.
A better way is to exterminate the evil ones!
