By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com
First of all, let me say this: I’m not going anywhere. I plan to be here corresponding with the contacts through my blog while reading and commenting on websites like Zero Hedge and the Burning Platform. And I MIGHT be posting articles as I can this summer, but definitely not as long or detailed as most of my previous writings. I am actually only three posts away from 200 original articles written since September of 2016 and I hope to complete that milestone as soon as possible.
But, to explain my situation, I’ll repeat what I’ve written before…
I’m somewhat comfortable from an asset standpoint, but having gone Galt in 2011 with no pension and being too young to draw social security, I am often cash poor personally – especially getting pups through college debt free, taking risks, occasional business setbacks, and unexpected brush fires.
Although I am fortunate to have lived a great life with few regrets… if I could have one do-over… I may not have went Galt quite so soon. I also missed out on a decade of stock market returns because I never dreamed the bubble could have been sustained for this long. Even so, from a Dow Jones perspective, I still believe 11 years early is better than one minute late.
But now I have a kid getting married this fall so I’ve agreed to help out a former vendor of mine by driving a 10-speed triaxle dump truck (6AM to 6PM) two to three days a week this summer for ten weeks. I’ll be fairly compensated and it will be a fun way to help pay for some of the wedding expenses on behalf of the young couple.
Additionally, this favor will help me to barter towards a material possession I want from my friend who promised me a steal on the item because he is short on drivers and needs the help this summer.
It’s honest work, for the right reasons, and I’m glad to do it.
The downside, however, is that I’m busy enough during the summer months as it is, let alone working two to three (twelve-hour) days a week on a side gig. This means I will not be able to post the kinds of articles I might have, otherwise, posted over these next few months.
Of course, in the great scheme of things, my temporary pause of posting will be no big deal because not one thing I ever wrote since the start of my blog in 2016 has even remotely slowed the now-apparent tide of inevitability. As an American Nobody who writes for personal reasons, my articles rarely go viral, anyway. Still, I remain grateful to Jim Quinn at The Burning Platform for his support and inspiration.
I will add that pingbacks to my blog did reveal that my last two articles were translated into Russian and, although that is pretty cool, it probably just put me on another “list” somewhere.
This is because America won’t be saved. It’s a numbers game and the demographics aren’t there. Besides, there isn’t much left to save. And it doesn’t matter whether the nation died by accident or design. It’s a half-rotted whale on the beach and fighting to get it back into the water does nothing. You might as well plant a dead tree in good soil or a dying flower in contaminated dirt.
Or, using another metaphor, the U.S. could be compared to a luxury recreational vehicle driving down a dead-end highway. It was stolen long ago with Americans, as the passengers, still inside mostly asleep and blinded (i.e. deceived).
And when speeding down a road, the windshield is larger than the rearview mirror because more focus must be applied toward the destination in lieu of where the journey began. However, the rearview mirror and windshield can be used to determine trajectory, speed, and distance; especially as time passes.
Now the cliff approaches.
In the final moments, one of the last crashed gates was the COVID-facilitated stolen election that began in the morning hours of November 4, 2020, when five Democratic-Party-controlled precincts, in five swing states, all stopped counting the votes.
The next crashed gate is the Russia/Ukraine War that began on February 24, 2022. It is currently providing cover for further supply chain degradation, inflationary pressures and rising bank rates, as the food supply chain and healthcare system are simultaneously dismantled and centralized.
Holodomor Ukraine Part Two is almost here, but, this time, it will occur on a global scale. Ironic how history rhymes, no?
The next gates to be crashed through will likely involve gun buybacks and confiscation, economic collapse, expanded regional and global warfare, rising authoritarianism amid never-ending pandemics, ever-accelerating societal implosion, and, if you can believe it, likely deception involving outer-space aliens.
Every Fourth Turning has been larger and more destructive than the one preceding and it seems this Turning will involve the entire world in ways not seen before.
These are sobering trajectories.
Moreover, the increasing magnitude of each ensuing Fourth Turning seemingly correlated with advancing technology; and, given the modern technology existing today, it makes for truly frightening prospects indeed.
Russia and China are now allies. China owns Biden. Biden does the bidding of the World Economic Forum and the extreme Political Left. And all of the above embrace radical Covidism, Climate Change, and the end goal of global Communism. In the U.S. everything has been politicized: The legal system, law enforcement, the military, the educational system, Big Business, Big Pharma, the healthcare system, gender, race, et al. Even the victims of mass shootings are exploited by politicians in order to infringe upon the Second Amendment right of law-abiding Americans to “keep and bear arms”.
Obviously, it won’t end well.
In the meantime, I will be out here on the fringe where good things still get done. Where homes are built and roads are paved by serious people; the kind of folks with whom I will be honored to enter into the fray; the kind of men and women who say what they mean and do what they say. They wake up with the sun and try to make it home to their small towns before dinner. Their eyes are clear and open as the boundless bright sky and their wills are harder than the stone of any quarry.
I plan to be back because I’m not going anywhere.
Godspeed Uncola! I’ve enjoyed all the articles you’ve posted to this site.
Me too.
Good Luck and be safe in your latest endeavor. I, as well as many others here, will miss your musing this summer but look forward to your return in the fall. Thanks Doug.
Many young boys would give their left kidney to drive these trucks. Enjoy it!
Truth is, almost everything has been said and written.
Thank you for your articles over the years.
“…everything has been said and written…”
And how.
Waiaaaaating is the hardest part…..
Still hard to believe he is gone.
Remember Tom Petty in the Postman?
An unexpected and pleasurable post apocalyptic viewing experience.
Evergrande, China’s number two property development corporation worth hundreds of billions of dollars is in financial default as of last Friday and the Chinese stock markets explode higher this morning due to massive government bailouts.
We are living in bizzaro world.
Everything is literally upside down and ass backwards.
Nothing is real anymore.
Nothing can be believed or trusted.
And this is just the preliminaries.
Except for Jesus.
Thank you Uncola for your thoughtful and inspiring faith based current events commentary over the last few years I’ve been on this site
You are an honorable foundation stone of TBP.
I wish you and yours all the best in our uncertain future and look forward to any and all of your future contributions to the site.
Thankfully, I’m still fairly rational. Rational enough to know that the truth can be trusted, and many people are bringing the truth to light, even without Jesus.
Our governments have been increasingly upside down and backwards since the ’60s radical ‘communists’/Marxists kept the faith and kept at it. Too many people trusted that the “Republicans” would preserve America… Now, there are probably Marxist “Republicans”.
There really aren’t that many of them, and their useful idiots aren’t really very useful. Don’t lose heart. If you just want to sit around and wait for Jesus to take over, Jesus will judge you for that.
Sitting around? I’m busy 14 hours a day.
They would be better off getting an education and using their brains.
Or shift gears for 12 hours a day.
The choice is rather obvious. Or should be lmao.
You are ignorant.
1`) Up until 5 years ago, driving for a company paid very good wages. Then our country allowed barely competent immigrants to take these jobs. Have you noticed how some drivers of large rigs drive like shit? I am an evil Boomer (not really, I realize how fortunate and easy I had it when young) and ONLY within the last 5 years or so.
I see large trucks failing to signal, swerving etc. When I see the face of the driver, in his side view mirrors, it usually is a Somali or other 3rd world slob.
2nd As for choosing college, Even STEM majors are now displaced by cheap foreign labor here on work visa. Mind you these young people were wise enough to choose STEM instead of Gender Studies Yet, they still got FUCKED and are shackled to a student loan for LIFE.
They chose STEM when it almost guaranteed good paying career. Hence they thought they would pay off a student loan if they lived frugally for 5 or 6 years on their new career’s income. They had no crystal ball to see their own government would destroy that career by allowing them to be replaced by cheap H1 Visa trash.
Uncola, is a good man, he is making the sacrifice for one of his kids.He will break his back driving that monster. I know, I drove a 15 speed quad box 48 years ago to pay for my six years of college and Grad School. I was in my 20’s, BUT>> at that age, it was fun. Uncola is no longer 20, He will work hard, very hard. He will endure constant engine noise, vibration as well as the constant dust when hauling sand or soil. Then the mental stress of constant vigilance and shifting gears for every minor change in speed or grade. It will NOT be a tit job, I assure you.
Hi Nick.
Actually a driver has fourteen hours beginning when he or she first logs on.
Out of that fourteen, a driver can drive up to eleven hours. The other hours can be logged as loading/unloading, rest break, (30 min mandatory at or before eight hours) or on-duty not driving. Even the eleven hours and the fourteen hours can occasionally be waived for urgent construction or very special loads.
I too, have noticed a lowering of driver skills and courtesy on the roads. The Dot-heads are crowding the industry like they did for C-stores and motels. Dirty, presumptuous people, often.
With the exception of MAYBE driving from exit to exit, Ya couldn’t pay me enough to drive a truck, Stress woulda killed me by now and i was doing OK in THAT pursuit all by myself. 18 yrs old. Can’t remember the length. ‘Straight’ truck, 2-speed rear, Manual clutch, of course. 4:30am, exiting off of 64 to Huntington,WV. Snowstorm, but the Highway was clear. So was the exit ramp…Except for the Black Ice, which NEVER crossed my mind.
Couldn’t have stopped if i wanted to, and Lord knows i tried. City streets covered. Finally came to a stop at the 2nd red light. Can’t remember if it was 8 or 10 pallets of 2×2 and 2×4 GypRock™ suspended ceiling panels, drywall w/vinyl surface. Could have been an epic disaster, but nobody with a lick of sense was on the road at that time. God watches out for FOOLS and Children…Almost 60, not much has changed.
And that was BEFORE it became fashionable to be an occupant in a carload of ILLEGAL ALIENS and swerve/cut off a big rig and lock-up the brakes. THE ORIGINAL ‘Prize Patrol’.
Did the ‘delivery boy’ routine for another 6 mos. ’til ‘promoted’ to (only ‘wheeled’ in those days) skid-steer operator/Hose dragger, GypCrete™ Crew. Walking on pins/needles literally. Drywall crew seemed like a step up ‘grunt’-wise, reached the pinnacle of that trade on stilts, Joint taping/finishing.
Thanks for the memories.
Hi my friend. TY for bringing me up to date me on the latest DOT rules! I admit I did not keep up with the latest regs. I do remember back in the 80’s there was a 10 hour limit per 24 hrs.
Most important though. I thought it was just me who was being too critical of the abysmal driving skills of a few truck drivers. I’m glad I’m not alone, nor just imagining it. Thanks Again!!!
Redundant post. ‘Scuza me.
“Up until 5 years ago, driving for a company paid very good wages. Then our country allowed barely competent immigrants to take these jobs”.
So far, I think, trucking companies still hire drivers, or not, and they check to make sure the drivers meet al the many Federal and State requirements, lest they be put out of business by the government.
Really, UnColas’s brand new truck has a dual clutch automatic for sure, good environment controls and no doubt a comfy orthopedic seat.
How many H-1 visas were granted last year? Do you know what they are? Do truck drivers even qualify?
Shifting gears over the open road beats an office job any day of the week. Lot of drivers make over 6 figure$.
There is no more education, just very expensive brain-washing
Man sized Tonka Trucks that are still made out of steel not plastic.
Very cool.
I sure do miss driving a 15 speed Mack “Quad Box”. God we Boomers were so lucky & spoiled in the 70’s . A good paying summer job, which I LOVED, covered Tuition, Books, owning a beat up used car and partying cash.
I drove a ten wheel garbage truck, for a Manhattan commercial hauler, during every summer that I attended university. It was a a thrill to drive through the NYC deserted streets from 9 pm to 6am , 6 days a week.
I remember “Drag racing” other trucks when stop lights turned green. LOL hit a top speed of 25 MPH before hitting the next red light.
My Parents let me live at home in return for performing repairs on house & dad’s car, hence no dorm fees nor even food and rent costs.
I understand the anger of young people today burdened with debt!!! I understand how good I had it, when I was their age. Today, even those who majored in a STEM discipline, are out of work thanks to cheap imported Engineers, Programmers etc here on work visa.
These young people did the right thing, they majored in a valuable skill society truly will always need. Now they are jobless and indentured for say $120K that they can never get out of.
Yep I am one rare Boomer who realizes just what a tit life was and how financially easy it was to afford 6 years of University, earning an MS in STEM , back in the day.
Late 70s early 80s worked for the Town Public Works Department in the Summers, and had the opportunity to drive dump trucks,
and made about $5.00/an hour, and no FICA taxes. My tuition and fees at the local Community College was about ten bucks an hour.
Later when I went to UMASS, my room board and tuition was $1,500 a semester, and that was for the 21 a week meal plan.
my financial aid grants were about 3,500 a year.
It was the golden days
Yes, they sure were golden days. Again I will declare I realize today how easy it was for us back then to earn a useful degree and then go on to earn a great standard of living.
It wasn’t all that easy for me, but a good education certainly helped.
The standard of living I grew up with was nearly satisfying to me, but it was a long way from “great”, whatever that is.
I ended up earning quite a bit of money, but the lifestyle I chose wasn’t great by today’s standards. Luckily I have my own standards.
Your essays have always been truthful, and as objective with the facts as anyone can be, as is this one today. Everything is imploding and it is just a matter of what blows first. The PTB no longer bother to hide their intentions and for anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear it is all there in plain site and yet, so many ARE STILL ASLEEP and believe in the right / left political paradigm. It’s unreal.
Anyway, I wish you the best, Doug. You have a lot on your plate.
Have enjoyed your thoughtful articles. Good luck with that full plate.
Nobody said a Fourth Turning would be fun. This one is gaining momentum. Destination TBD.
Good luck, Doug. You will be missed.
Best of luck to ye Mr. Uncola. Like you, I’ve left the arena and the stadium grounds. I see the same sad trajectory of events, I see where things are going, anyone with half a brain can read the propaganda and what the next big push against the citizenry is going to be. It’s obvious that the next push is gun confiscation, and good luck on that one. I daresay, they have a plan, it was seriously put into action after the stolen election and all the pieces are on the chessboard. They think said plan is going to operate snicker-snack and they don’t realize they’re opening Pandora’s box and they really don’t understand consequences. The blowback is going to be remarkable…and it’s going to blow up in their faces but, sadly, the damage they leave behind will be astronomical.
Well said Mygirl!
Uncola, seems that we your readers will experience the greatest loss. I will look for those condensed readers digest articles this summer.
Good luck and keep that rig between the ditches.
“Keep the shiney side up”
And the greasy side down.
Hey there Uncola. Does your contractor friend need more drivers? I have twenty some years experience. No accidents or moving violations in that time. Went into trucking when I got a little too stiff for high steel.
Currently driving OTR tractor-trailer. Ten weeks of hitting it hard elsewhere would suit me just fine. Plenty experience in tri, quad and tractor trailer (frame and frameless) dumps.
Hardscrabble has my cell number and email.
Will vouch for him. Good man.
Never met you, Farmer. But your vouchers are even valuable down here in Texas!!!
Whoa, Farmer! Thanks, Just thanks.
PSBindy,
Although the family has multiple business ventures in play, the excavation side only has four trucks operating this summer. So far, I’ve been assigned the old Mack and with my help, all the sites are covered.
Thank you for your kind offer, though
‘Preciate your fast and gentle reply, Uncola. Maybe next time.
Damn I envy you. I drove rove a 1965 Mack B Model with a “Quad Box” I’m sure you know all about that joy. Hell it I was able to pay for 6 years of university with a summer job driving a ten wheel garbage truck. God,this Boomer had it easy and I know it.
Drat! When you posted a pic of that brand new tri-axle, I thought it was because you’d be driving it.
None of the trucks are new. I think that Kenworth is a 1998 or 1999. Well maintained though
You will be needed for the new canals to be built and extending further than the Panama Canal from Canada To Mexico. America the land of Opportunity.
That’s a positive outlook right there, T-Bird. 😉
6 to 6, bruh . That still leave you six hours to blog . Do you even Red Bull ?
All jokes aside, life removed from the daily grind did you no harm and the time spent learning what others totally engaged in chasing the debt servitude of the almighty dollar have never took a minute to notice may very well save you and your loved one’s lives one day.
Any day removed from the Beast System of capital servitude is a good day indeed. Good luck in all your endeavors.
While I’ll miss your articles, I understand that you gotta do what you gotta do. Drop me an email once in a while if you want to shoot the shit and don’t be a total stranger on TBP.
Definitely. Thank you, Robert.
Thanks, Doug.
We’ll be patiently waiting for your return as we watch the world to continue to burn around us. TPTB that want it all will be sadly disappointed to finally discover that some things are simply not available at any cost. They can kill the body, but they can’t kill the spirit. In that regard we have already won. There will be crying and gnashing of teeth – theirs. They will never get the one thing that they most desperately want, and you already have learned that they can’t take it away from you.
Safe driving.
I hear you.
All I want to do now is to help as many folks as I can learn how to provide sustenance for themselves and their families while doing the same for my own.
The end is nigh.
Hi, I would love to learn half of what you have with your farm! We are about to leave Dallas after 30+ years to relocate to our 180 acre ranch in Central TX. Looking to start cows, chickens, vegetable garden, etc. What would be the best resource to learn from in your opinion? Do you have a blog about farming practices?
If folks can see onto your property, you’ll want to give that some serious consideration. For the obvious reasons.
Start small… learn the basics first…
Cows… can you range year round or will you need hay for winter??
Chickens… A dozen layers and meat birds will provide eggs and meat. Do you need supplemental feed or is there enough forage for the birds. What predator’s do you need to protect them from…
We bought layer pellet by the ton because we didn’t have enough protein forage for the layers. We bought COB and substituted the oats with cracked wheat for the meat birds and they’d get one feed of this in the morning only.
Keep the garden small at first so you aren’t overwhelmed with weeding and harvest product. Learning to harvest and store properly takes a bit of learning and experimenting. Harvest the wild hogs and learn to process and store that if you have them near you.
What I’d give to have 180 acres in Texas….
“What I’d give to have 180 acres in Texas….”
Come on down. Bring the family. You’ll be taken care of. 🙂
Chaff’n at the bit…
You’ll be needing a John Wayne hat and a single action.
And a lever action. And a horse.
But hurry. Land prices are getting very FAT.
!!!
I can get this for a good price… Will it do???
😂 Not quite. Looks too fast for a beginner.
Now my images don’t wanna post…
Me… after finding out my horse is to much for me… sigh
It’s a gift brian. I like to keep it real. 🙂
http://www.hardscrabblefarmer.com there’s a tone of stuff about our experience homesteading and more than a few how to essays regarding livestock management/processing, etc.
The really essential reads are 5 Acres and Independence by MG Kaines and anything by Joel Salatin. These guys really lay out the framework for operating a farm with minimum inputs and maximum returns. Acres USA is a great resource (magazine) and for some really well written stuff that also fills in a lot of detail Wendell Berry is at the very top of the list.
I wish you all the luck in the world, just remember that even if you had 48 hours in each day there’s no way you’ll ever get everything done, so don’t set those kinds of goals. One bite at a time will give you plenty to chew on. And be careful no matter what you do- the greatest risk in this lifestyle is always accidents. Slow, steady and with great care in all things.
I’m seeing several people Adapt2030, Glen Beck, IceAge Farmer, Angry Prepper, Steve Quayle, and others, say that September or there about is when a major food supply and price shock hits.
We live in a country where the captured government is more concerned with a border dispute in eastern Europe, than starving babies in the US.
The current US regime actively working to reduce oil and gas production in the country, without natgas, no fertilizer, without diesel, farm production collapses, and whatever is produced.can’t be shipped by truck, or train.
Gonzolo Lira explained today how Europe will soon have to align with Russia or starve and freeze this winter.
And Brandon is going to cancel the Second Amendment, which would void the agreement that the Constitution essentially was and is.
Aaaaand the vax.
The end is definitely nigh, and the collapse will happen but it won’t produce the results that The Brandon Regime expects.Fa
Because when the center can not hold it will destroy the organs of power that the regime depends on. Think the NoLa cops right after Katrina, its YO YO time.
And if Putin decides to take out our “decision centers” it’s even worse for the regime.
It didn’t begin then, but the Constitution was essentially turned upside down During FDR’s reign.
Thinly reasoned SCOTUS ‘decisions’ beginning even prior to the ‘progressive’ era laid the groundwork.
(Reasoning like Justice Marshall’s regarding a central bank; i.e. a central bank is constitutional because the national government needs to borrow money to fulfill it’s fiscal responsibilities.)
America has been altered from a sea of individual rights surrounding a small island of granted government powers to a sea of power eroding the small island of rights that remain.
People one step ahead of the crowd are called genius, people that are 4 or 5 steps ahead are called crazy.
And you are correct Uncola, demographics and physics and basic arithmetic tells me and others that we are screwed, things will not get better.
Let’s all be grateful for what we have…now.
While I don’t consider myself to be a genius, I do think I’m informed….because I read stuff like this and archive much of it in DaLimbraw Library……which of course makes me crazy in the eyes of most my few contacts still intact.
Here’s my latest ‘connect the dots’ piece – https://crushlimbraw.blogspot.com/2022/06/america-we-have-chosen-this-path.html?m=0 – all ‘stolen’ from guys like Doug, Jim, etc……like I always say: “Everything I have learned has come from others!”
Thank God!
You’re not fooling anyone. You’re just taking some time off to work on your killdozer.
Unc has a little more finesse than that, MTD.
A dump truck would make a damn good ad hoc APC.
Dangit, MTD. Don’t give away the farm, Man!
The Mad Max Mobile
As long as he doesn’t wear those assless chaps…
The Mad Max series always cracked me up. It was great but the plot holes were massive.
Like how ever vehicle had brand new, full tread tires. Because after the apocalypse, there will still be tire manufacturers. Sure. That is not a cottage industry that could continue after the industrial world collapses.
Still great entertainment though.
Like Mad Max, and every zombii movies/series and end-of-the-world movies/series, the premise is always: we were 350 million people (in the US), now we are 2 million, so we have the (transformed) resources of 350 to share among 2… enough to last us more than a lifetime. But! metal rusts (spare parts to fix you generator, for example), gasoline goes bad after about 6 months (no more driving, or that generator stays quiet), an unheated building will fall prey to (mostly) humidity in a few years, etc. Even when Max found a full tank of gasoline somewhere in an overturned truck to fill up his last of the V8s, that gas, after all these years, is fucked. I don’t even want to think about his engine oil, diff oil, spark plugs, filters, etc. Back to the stone age in less than a year.
‘No Alcohol’ gas will last AT LEAST 2yrs. according to my supplier if properly vented for both Vacuum/pressure w/no additives. ‘Listed’ vent. Depot not exposed to the elements. 100 gal min. for free delivery. NOT looking forward to this Fall’s price, IF available.
Mr. Uncola, The ability to shake off an unreasonable Marxist philosophical view is admirable. Your values are solid and you’ll do just fine, today and beyond. About outer space aliens and UFO’s-The goal is to set off a wave of fear and hysteria. It’s nothing more than demon influence emanating from TPTB. Of greater importance is the realization and significance of global events. Increasing crime and unrest, endless corruption, and economic and moral breakdown are no figments of human imagination. “The greatest derangement of the mind is to believe in something because one wishes it to be so.”-Louis Pasteur.
Be well, celebrate good work, family & friends!
I recall St. John Paul II saying several decades ago that so called space aliens were actually demons.
Demons of the mind.
It’s more likely that they are Chronoaughts
Secularist call them “aliens from outer space”. The bible calls them “fallen angels”. Seems to me the visitation of alien life forms are a biblical truth and part of human history. The bible and the more detailed book of Enoch is a story of aliens coming down to earth and mingling seed with the human women and other animals who gave birth to the Nephalim (giants) which after they died became disembodied spirits now called demons. That is how I understand it anyway.
Were they aliens or demons? According to the Bible, the Nephilim were destroyed in the flood of Noah’s day.
Marky is correct, JGS. Angels, both Holy and Fallen, are, and always will be, angels. The Nephilim are the children of fallen angels and human females and animals as reported in Gen 6.
A far more detailed account is presented in the book of Enoch. Enoch has always been in the Ethiopian Orthodox cannon but was rejected from the Western cannon due to the specificity of prophecies relating to the first coming of Jesus. The church fathers felt this possibly indicated that the book was written in Christian times. It was a good decision at the time.
We now have the Dead Sea Scrolls. Enoch is there!
Enoch begins with a passage declaring ‘this is written for a remote generation’ (< a very good paraphrase). I feel sure we are that remote generation.
Back to Nephilim: They are "Earth born." Never meant to be. They are not subject to resurection. Upon death of their physical bodies they become demon spirits. Enoch tells us they hunger and thirst but cannot sate these wants. They look for moist places (living bodies). When exorcised the wander "dry places" until they can return either to the same person or another.
*resurrection*
“The Nephilim are the children of fallen angels and human females and animals as reported in Gen 6.”
They sound like the Greek Gods to me.
Yes, Wideguy, they were exactly that. And the Norse gods, the Hindu gods and the Aztec gods etc.
And now they are all evil demons? Yikes! There were a very lot of them…
And they have found many Nephalim bones too. At least that’s what they thought they were.
Many American Indian tribes tell stories about fighting giants. These Nephilim descendants had red hair, usually six fingers and toes and many with double rows of teeth. They treated humans as food prey.
There’s little to no evidence in American museums. When found, the oversized humanoid bones are confiscated by the Smithsonian never to be seen again. There are some oversized tools though.
The best records are in old newspaper records and the newsletters of county historical societies where one might find a listing noting ‘Farmer so and so found huge human bones while clearing stumps or such.’
In South America, especially Peru, there are museums open to the public with wildly elongated skulls of greater than human volume and no pariatal suture. (don’t know how to spell pariatal)
There are several Christian bloggers who have extensive posts about giants. Steve Quail and L.A. Marzulli come to mind. Check them out. It’s fascinating.
Oh, when Abraham Lincoln visited the Niagra Falls he was quoted as noting the ancient race of giants were also awestruck by this sight. (<piss poor paraphrase) So it was widely known before Darwin.
In my opinion, Hogwash!
Certainly your average farmer knows what animal bones look like, but would he recognize the femur of a giant ground sloth?
They made Pope John Paul II a saint already?
“…Additionally, this favor will help me to barter towards a material possession I want from my friend who promised me a steal on the item because he is short on drivers and needs the help this summer…”
Probably either a Case 580 or a John Deere 310.
!!!
(It’s not the CAT wheel loader in the bottom pic, is it? That would make Red Real Jealous!!!)
No comment, Red.
I knew it!!!
I expect you will find something in this little adventure to add to your perspectives on the here and now. Attitudes of the construction people and truck people and of course will they be able to get diesel for your truck?
Have a safe journey and of course “keep your big one between the ditches and your little one in your britches.” Godspeed.
I heard there’s a planned shortage of DEF to.
I sure wish there was a Terminus we could all meet up at.
Someday, the Encyclopedists will have a great library on Terminus.
Thanks to all the commenters thus far for the kind words and sentiments. I really appreciate all of you here on TBP. I realize this one was all about me me me, but I thought it would be easy to communicate directly with a stand-alone post. Otherwise, people will usually ask here as I comment on various threads or through the contact page of my blog and I thought this would be easier and more efficient.
If it works out, I MAY be able to put together some truncated observations around the 4th of July. But don’t plan on it. As always, it usually depends upon whatever happens between now and then. For now, though, I am expecting more of the same and, perhaps, even a lot more
Thank you for your tremendous writing. However, the biggest need now is foot soldiers who will reach out those who asleep. We still have millions that think Muslims did 9/11.
To the newer folks on this site, I’ve had significant success with letters to the editors of various TN newspapers that are independently owned. It’s not a strategy that can work for everyone but I’d like to see more awake patriots try. If I can be of any help, [email protected]
write up something and send it to [email protected]
I wish you well and expect to see you here from time to time.
Has it really been as many years as I think it has been?
Excellent and noble choice, Uncola.
When the shits baked in you gotta nibble around it.
I make $100h while I’m traveling the world. Last week I worked by my laptop in Rome, Monti Carlo and finally Paris…This week I’m back in the USA. All I do are easy tasks from this one cool site. check it out,

You the one parked up on the road mooching my wi-fi?
Unc- Anyone that can go Galt in MV is my hero, you have real style. 🙂
Of all the places to go Galt, that is one of the most heavily fortified (behind the scenes) in the country. Can’t have those Humvees in plain sight in the neighborhoods. Anywho, thanks for all the great articles and just being a buddy in the thick of things.
BL, please don’t point and laugh, but what/where is MV?
It’s tricky, PS. In my articles, I will usually post photos to correspond with the topics. Many of the photos I took myself. Many others, however, were snagged from the net. Based on that, I believe BL may think I am in Martha’s Vineyard – but that is not my location. I actually live just a little ways north of my neighbors to the south and just west of my neighbors who live to the east of me.
(but I very much appreciated the comment, BL. Thank you. And my pleasure)
Everybody’s got their own sack of rocks ta tote (or loads to haul)….but IMHO, this ain’t no Fourth Turning. It is nearing the dispensation of the fullness of times (Eph. 1:10)
annuit coeptis novus ordo seclorum
Amaruca-The Land of the Plumbed Serpent…. don’t be fooled by that ‘new breed of men sent down from heaven’
Vaya con Dios
Plumed serpent you mean?
Anyway, the founders believed that God (Providence) favored their enterprise to create a nation where people were free and government was limited and strictly controlled.
The old order was rule by Sovereigns. The new order was to be sovereign individuals ruling themselves and employing government for a few essential purposes.
It was a great plan. Too bad we didn’t keep it.
Tricky indeed! 🙂
Bindy- I like to rib Unc, he is a good sport and a damn fine writer. What a waste for that talent to be laboring instead of expressing. He won’t be gone long if things heat up. 🙂
Ordo- This is the end of a era, there is a new entertainment department script on the horizon. The beginning of a new sting operation is best for us mere mortals with opportunities and just the awe of all that is new. On the other hand, this could turn into a complete alien run scam prison farm if you will fall for it. I’m almost excited to see the wonders that wait for us down the road.
Me too, BL. And thanks for not pointing and laughing.
Speaking of pictures…where would one go to snag a magic keyboard such as that.
Uncola,
You are an Optimist!
Enjoy the work, although old dump trucks seats are a source of pain. With 12 hours a day behind the wheel, you are going to feel old.
With a fan base like this your fingers will itch to write, your adoring followers will pine, they miss you.
I’m just a bit jealous, but doubling up the garden, working firewood and patient.
You’ll be back.
“America won’t be saved” Uncola. I would like to make a correction. The United States won’t be saved.
America has always been here shining bright as ever. It just had a dark cloud over it called the United States.
The United States corporation became the model for governing America after the revolution. Our forefathers were educated but they were not wise. The constitution was crafted for wise men to govern while our forefathers knew that educated men would corrupt it with the work of their own filthy souls by the subsequent addition of amendments after the 10th one. But because even the corruption added by more amendments was not enough they came up with administrative law in the middle of the twentieth century; with no Bill of Rights or due process of law, to circumscribe constitutional law and then change the courts to administrative courts.
The United States corporation is crumbling and the sooner the better for all of us. With it’s collapse we will still be under State and local law but the main thing for economic reasons is we will be free from all the regulations that have killed free enterprise and allowed global corporations to dominate the economy as a direct result of the United States corportation
I believe America has a bright future. Our thinking has been clouded by circumstances we have been forced to accept by central control planners. Why do 75% of the population live in the cities and coast creating crowded conditions when there is so much room for expansion in America? Think and remember what happened when Eisenhower began to build the interstate highway system? Just like what the railroads caused: there was an economic boom.
Now contemplate this: We know the western part of America; (notice I don’t use United States anymore because my mind is in the future), is in a drought, so we need to bring water down from the north; a big project, to replenish the water supply. Think this is impossible? Think again. I have observed satellite pictures of the earth showing pictures of old canals that went large distances and even carried ships. All things are possible when we have wise people governing.
So Uncola, my thoughts are positive about the future with the demise of the existing system. The only way we are to get free of these evil men running this system is to crash the system and this will extinguish their power. The homo sapien sapien has evolved to far than to go back to feudal thinking. Yes there will be much suffering because people don’t like change and there will be many knocked off their pedestals but this is God’s creation and we are God’s children made in his image so it is not our Will be Done but His Will be done. And I am ready for change.
“The homo sapien sapien has evolved to far than to go back to feudal thinking.”
I think you are wrong here. A very small percentage of man has evolved past feudalism. The vast majority crave to be told what to do, when to do it and for how long.
Thinking and self direction take effort. Effort is work. The majority will suffer any depredation or humiliation to not have to work in any way, including thinking.
We, the thinking and self directing, are the mutants.
If what you say is true then we are living in the Twilight Zone. I truly hope after this crash there are enough thinking and self directing people to take man to a new golden age.
So are you pulling a transfer pup or just the tractor? I love construction and constructing.
They do have some pup trailers but I will mostly be in a tractor end-dump
Cool. I did the dirt work side, cats, blades and scrapers but at the start of the season, and the very end of it, spent many hours of hauling to stockpiles. Good luck and have fun!
Well, that just sucks!!
But, I understand it.
You will be sorely missed.
I wonder if by this autumn there will even be anything to come back to ….
And, once again, Herr Stuchenmeister makes an astute observation. Hence my usage of the word “plan” in the 3rd and last sentences of the above post.
Of course, anything can happen.
But I also would not be surprised if the long slow collapse grinds out for years to come.
In the meantime, there is no time like the present and waiting around to die just kills me. Carpe diem, my friend. I always read and think about what you post and will comment as I can (and have the time to circle back for conversations &
sh*t-throwingdebates as necessary).God Bless you! It ain’t easy driving one of those monsters. I know, I’ve been there as a young pup. Noise, heat, dust. and the bang-bang-bang of the “Jake Brake” Your doing all that for your children. I will miss your frequent, cogent and very informative writings
Good Luck, God Bless & God Speed.
“As an American Nobody who writes for personal reasons, my articles rarely go viral, anyway”.
I would say wrong. When I have time, which is more often than most people, I check to see if you have anything new. I read all you write for a long time. I read the blogs for insight, information, entertainment and enlightenment as well as other things. My guess many likeminded people read your works as well, most do not comment.
Some people are inspirational especially when speaking the truth. It may not be what we want to hear but it still feeds the mind, heart and soul. All inspiration no matter where it comes from feeds the spirit and that’s a good thing.
Discernment of all this is the most important thing. When the false profit appears I would hope that we all could spot it.
Enjoy your busy time as best you can.
Peace and Grace.
Read here daily, don’t comment often. Enjoy your articles. Good luck. You’re doing the right thing. I still work even though I don’t need or want to. I do it for my boy’s future . Make all the money you can while you’re able. Some day soon I believe it won’t be available.
Retirement was always a modern pipe dream .
Very grateful for your contributions, Doug. I came across your work and TBP’s via Steve Quayle several years ago.
Look forward to hearing about your future adventures. Praying God’s continued favor to you and your family.
Me too.
Hey Uncola, Will seriously miss your take on things. In this era and environment you gotta put your kids first, kudos to you. Happy nuptials to your son/daughter. I always read your articles even though they sometimes cover much more ground than my maxed out hard drive can process.
I drove a ten wheel dump for awhile, careful around all that dust. In this instance, a mask is the cheapest healthcare you can get.
Wish you the best, Doug. A man has to do what a man has to do.
You are a very talented writer and I wish you nothing but the best. I agree with everything you have ever written and a 1000 up votes for this one! God bless and God speed!
Thank You for your serious efforts over time. Sage Advice. Will try to heed Your words of Wisdom. However…..
Sincerely, Like a Moth to the FLAME
Sorry your giving in so easily, 1776should be an inspiration, but today its always instant gratification.
Like Amarillo Slim, I’m all in, til my dying breath.
The author of this article isn’t giving in. He’s going out and making contacts for a militia while getting paid stupid.
Best of luck Doug. I’ve always enjoyed your articles because you and I are at almost exact same place in life if not the same age. I didn’t cash out yet and my biggest struggle is When.
I will probably be one month late instead of 11 years early. I look forward to your midsummer and fall updates.
Amen. Working in a similar manner these past summers with a rancher friend of mine haying and baling. We’ve worked a trade arrangement so they can keep the lights on and I have great meat products.
Doug,
Your essays are superb, will miss them and look forward to whenever there are more.
I did a similar gig 3 years ago. Excavator friend needed dump truck driving help, I’m retired engineer, high school Class of ’71.
He had similar small fleet, Macks, Freightliner and Peterbilt end dumps, hauling dirt, sand, gravel, rocks and building demo debris to landfill. Mostly 10-speed manuals, hundreds of no-clutch shifting all day long.
I enjoyed the variety, usually self-loaded with big John Deere and Michigan end-loaders, and was the ditch-monkey at times when working with excavators.
It was intended to be part-time, but he was so busy (seasonal, IA-MN border) it turned out his idea of part time was 50 hour weeks! Plus summer wasn’t over until the ground froze hard in December!
I enjoyed the cash + overtime, and the always interesting interactions with the construction crowd, but declined the offer to repeat the following spring.
It’s just a good memory now, a couple years later. Enjoy and stay safe!
Best regards to you and yours in the future, and thanks so much
for lending your mind, in words, that are usually quite brilliant.
Suzanna
Good luck. Be careful out there.
Sorry to hear you might be spending the last months of your life driving a dump truck for 12 hour shifts. Even though the truck is real spiffy and looks brand new… What will you be hauling? How far per round trip? How many trips per 12 hour shift? Where will you dump your loads, into something or onto something, or is it a moving target, different every time? Tell me about the transmission.
No matter. Are the children you put through college not willing to help you out financially? What sort of degrees did you pay for?
I know, too many questions, but your rambling post created lots of questions in my mind.
I went Gault in 1972 but not for long. By 1978, I was planning for a sustainable early retirement to someplace good to live. I had experience living in ways that made me believe I could live of the grid. The older I get, the more I realize it’s nothing I want to do anymore.
I retired at 55 on ‘Plan C’, and it’s pretty good, has been for 17 years, and the best I can do now is try to keep barbarians out of the neighborhood, and try to go at least one for one if someone comes for my guns.
That will, hopefully, work better than my ‘Plan A’ retirement scheme. I really hoped my final years would be fairly boring. Instead, the are very interesting.
My answers to Wideguy’s comments and questions:
It’s just a summer gig a few days a week and I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t enjoy it and find it worthwhile for the reasons as stated in my above post.
Definitely new but well-maintained. The old Mack has around 400k miles.
Rock, black dirt, and sand.
Approx. 30 minutes (one way) to site and 20 minute (one way) hauls for loads and dumps.
I always lose count. Seems like a lot though.
Quarrys, work sites, and assigned land areas. No moving targets.
Eaton-Fuller 10-speed
They are starting out debt free with good jobs and able to pay all their bills and then some. I am financially set, so no need to help me. I help them just so they can have a leg up getting started in these less-than-ideal global circumstances.
The kinds that have secured recession proof jobs with good career opportunities. Anything beyond that will be weathered in my doomstead, if necessary.
Well, W.G., I never wanted to live out my final years in a nursing home anyway.
Uncola, you have inspired me more than you’ll ever know, all I can say is, “Thank you.” The fact that you’re taking time “off” in order to work your ass off to help others in real life, is worth a million words right there. My best to you and yours, hope your summer goes great, and I look forward to you sharing with us when you can. God bless.
Uncola,
Been off the platform on fire for a while, late to your latest (I have not missed one since 2015) been entertaining my last buddy from the 70’s when we misspent out misspent yout together.
I remember when I put that picture of myself up with Sherry Lewis in the 80’s on a thread I posted and you said you thought I kinda sorta looked like Burt Reynolds…you have always been my favorite since that!
I too went Galt early (2012) and I too always got out of stocks early and back in late, as well as never, ever imagined they could keep the CON, BUBBLE, PONZI, CHARADE, LIES, MASQUERADES, KABUKI THEATER up this long.
But, you are right…like the dog said when he cut his tail off… “It won’t be long now”!
A man does what he has to do…when he has to do it.
Best to you buddy!
Your sabbatical is most extremely well deserved, Doug. Your fine writing: that challenges one’s basic assumptions in an honest, erudite and sometimes lyrical optique and style, is always refreshing. And integral to both TBP and in maintaining sanity and perspective in the Global Mindfuck that is Earth 2022….
“All Your Base Are Belong To US”
The computer IS a vortex of negativity for body, mind and spirit. Driving big trucks for fun and profit is Zen level of in-the-moment consciousness and a great antidote to the unreality of the virtual and the “Real” as we find it.
Auntie is having a Russian Standard Vodka and cran- pineapple to salute you getting started on the right foot toward that end: Ataraxia! Auntie? Planning for a mineral hot tub and Thai massage in perhaps three weeks. I suggest you should do similar too, if you are so inclined to relacx and reflect and recharge.
Peace out.
Have you tried Polish potato vodka? I think Luksusowa is fine stuff.
When the time is right…
You need to build up more mental resilience Uncola, boots havent even hit the ground yet. First rule of psychological warfare is to remember all feelings (no matter how hopeless) pass. Staying rooted in reality is essential, globocorp wants you to believe they are Gods and submit out of perceived fear/hopelessness/despair. I can assure you they are just delusional men, mind control is a delusion. Your free will is God given, it cannot be taken from you, you always have a choice. Every single time you stand up and challenge the lies of globalcorp, you chip away at the hypnosis and give someone else the courage to speak out too. When great evil rises, God always raises a greater good to combat it. This online world of screens is fake, its the image of the beast, its not real and does not reflect the reality of the real world. Globalcorp has very big strategic weaknesses, one of which is underestimating their opponents. Giant power obsessed bureaucracies all have the same foundational weakness, they breed mediocrity through collectivism and falsely assume their superiority is merit based. The whole system can actually be toppled if you hide in the bottom layer and subvert the system by quietly building dissent from the bottom up. They overly focus on weeding out dissenters at the top, the deplorables are below their notice. Blinded by arrogance, they do not see the threat until its too late. Patience and faith. God is making moves.
excellent piece of writing.
Excellent piece of writing – enjoy the “normal people” on your 12 hour days. The same people who work every day in some form or fashion, pay their taxes, take care of their kids, mind their own business, and try to find some small place of sanity each day in the love and honesty that surrounds them – if they’re lucky enough.
The flag of America is in tatters. The only thing keeping it together are the true patriots who care, who respect, and who hold honesty close to their hearts in hope of something “normal”. It it their strong fibers as good citizens that keep the flag of our once wonderful country from completely unraveling.
