If you want to impose a totalitarian system, you have a problem on your hands: reality. The real is in your way and will eventually veto your project. I saw the FB Meta alter-reality as a simulacrum from the get go, fortunately nobody was interested. FEAR the full blown Simulacra, may they never achieve their goal. At this point, a hyper-realistic mask and voice modulator could be the “arcane magick spell” that creates a simulacrum. I believe a few banks have been robbed that way with impersonations of high value clients…
But think of how many known instances of utilization of doubles (or more) there are in only political circles…yet musk, gates, soros and every little tyrant on the planet is not utilizing them? Unlikely.

May I add that retailtainment was like a 25 year sugar rush (for many) with a disappointing crash at the end. Not physically though, but mentally (in a Kunstler, mind-fuckery, sort of way).
Mental energy to support that shit (for many) ran out and now, support for fake interactions with so many bureaucrats and merchants (and more) has crashed and is still crashing. It’s not just because of “the internet”.
After a few visits, any sane individual looked for escape routes. ANY escape routes, to relieve the burden of dealing with that Over The Top Bullshit (either in your face selling or order-following at the level/speed of an imbecile, OR BOTH!) directly.

I watched the video for 30 minutes, and by that time my bullshit meter had pegged. This guy picks and chooses facts, and then mixes in his personal biases and opinions. I’ll give one example. He talked about the Gnostic religions as though they were one unified religion with a common belief structure. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Gnostic religions were more diverse than the Christian religion is today. Read either “The Gnostic Gospels” by Elaine Pagels or “The Secret History of the Gnostics” by Andrew Phillip Smith. The Gnostic religions, contrary to what James Lindsay says, were not evil cults. They were what Christianity might have been today had Catholicism lost out instead in the battle for dominance in the West. If we follow Lindsay’s logic, then Buddhism, Advaita Vedanta, and a few other Eastern religions would be labelled evil cults because they depend on insight rather than blind faith (belief). Lindsay is more dangerous than the religions he vilifies in his speech.
