As a long-time admirer, I have to restrain myself from submitting all of Glenn Greenwald’s commentary to TBP. I have followed him for 15 years. About two months ago he started a nightly news show on Rumble he calls System Update. It runs Monday thru Friday at 7:00 pm. I have seen every one of them and I think it is vital information for the TBP family. Last night’s program was typically outstanding and because it has three different subject matters I thought it would give TBR’ers a good sample of his reporting.
In part one Greenwald breaks down just how war is made so incredibly profitable to a select few at the terrible expense of the many. He quotes a lot from General Smedley Butler’s classic work: War is a Racket. Greenwald examines how a witch’s brew of VIPs we know all too well from defense contractors, politicians, bankers (of course), and the various other military complex actors rig the system to produce astounding profits.
He then fast-forwards to the Iraq war and describes the very same activity, lies, and results. It’s stunning to see the exact playbook produce the exact same results with the same gang of coconspirators one hundred years apart.
Part two is an examination in detail of the murder of football star Pat Tillman. This was provoked by a Super Bowl video shown just prior to the game’s start lionizing Tillman for quitting the NFL to fight in Afghanistan. It was a despicable and nauseating example of using the murder of this young star to create a hagiographic image invented out of whole cloth without regard to the actual facts to advance the interests of the MIC.
Deployed to Iraq prior to going to Afghanistan Tillman became disillusioned with the war and made his feelings known, even establishing a correspondence with Noam Chomsky. The actual facts (such that the Army didn’t conceal or destroy) paint a picture that suggests that he was ‘fragged’ i.e. purposely killed by his own troops to shut him up. Tillman’s family was likewise lied to, ignored, and abandoned.
Running this disgrace in the name of love for one’s country was a cruel farce made especially poignant with a sporting event we now have reason to believe was itself a farce.
Part three is, for me the juiciest part. Now that even establishment rags like the New York Times and the Washington Post have had to admit the entire Russiagate story was a hoax those actors who advanced the hoax have begun to turn on each other. It’s what you would expect the rats to do to each other once backed into a corner. Of special enjoyment is Greenwald’s obvious schadenfreude once having been savaged by these overpaid liars now enjoying seeing them at each other’s throats.

Ahhhh…too broad, simplistic (not without merit)…yea most TV is a wasteland and a propaganda machine but not all.
Now it’s the machine in their hands and (for everyone the truth telling dot connecting books they never read).
Headline scanners who live on tweets, blurbs, bumper stickers, and have the attention span of a nat are in the majority.
Have a friend, IQ off the charts, good instincts, and a great guy, never read or reads books…massive gaps in his historical knowledge…many dots he can’t connect because of that.

I still think the main problem with recruiting is that the Southern white boys don’t want to work with degenerate niggers and spics who get special treatment.
Sure I have friends who are hispanic or black from the military, but in groups it is always the law of averages that matters. Nobody wants that work environment, not even the exceptional “minorities”.
I am the father a strapping, young (16) Southern lad. I have told him to not even think of the military as a career.
Forgot to mention, I’m an Army brat — Dad a retired full bird Colonel — Korea and Viet Nam were his playgrounds. He had it figured out, but by that time, he was in too deep. Had to ride it out for the benefits.
I “thought” I had reasonable black folks at my job that I considered work “friends”. Bullshitting around while on break of course , nothing serious in discussions, lots of football talk then, BLM. I said nothing about that and suddenly my black work “friends” just stopped communicating.
If given enough time or the proper moment, everyone will reveal themselves to you.
And that’s exactly what they want. As long as they keep us divided, we won’t focus on the real perps.

You are RIGHT. My daughter went to a recruiter 2 years ago. They would not take her because she has a spinal defect. She went back to the recruiter recently. They are begging her to join now. I am begging her NOT TO JOIN.

It wasn’t until reading this that I realized why they would send in a unit like ours that was elite in quelling an insurgency and follow it up with a unit that was a shit stirring insurgency producing machine.
It’s all calculated and made possible by a government-run indoctrination facility called public education.

I’ve had two people tell me Tillman was overly gung-ho and putting people’s lives in danger, so someone got rid of him. I have heard this story about butter bars in Vietnam also.
It was quite the culture shock from Marine do or die to Army CYA, let me tell you. To be fair, I came to appreciate not dying needlessly for no reason.

Death by friendly fire in combat in any war is about as common as car accidents on highways, and are caused for the same reasons…somebody fucked up or was careless or was speeding (moving too fast) or was an inexperienced FNG (Fucking New Guy).
That is what got Tillman killed from the eyewitnesses…accidental/careless friendly fire.

I was in a grunt combat company, we had popular and unpopular officers never heard or saw of any being fragged…but there was one incident in the rear with the pogues.
