SEE YOU ON THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON

Written in December 2019. Reposted in honor of the 50th anniversary of the album

And if the cloud bursts thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band you’re in starts playing different tunes
I’ll see you on the dark side of the moon

And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I’ll see you on the dark side of the moon

Brain Damage, Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd’s 1973 Dark Side of the Moon album is considered one of the greatest albums of all-time. It stayed on the Billboard 200 charts for 937 weeks. Roger Waters concept was for an album that dealt with things that “make people mad”. The Dark Side of the Moon’s themes include war, conflict, greed, the passage of time, death, and insanity, the latter inspired in part by former band member Syd Barrett’s worsening mental state.

The five tracks on each side reflect various stages of human life, beginning and ending with a heartbeat, exploring the nature of the human experience, and empathy. The themes of this album are timeless and are as germane today as they were forty-six years ago, if not more relevant. The country and world are awash in conflict, driven by the greed of evil men. Decent, law abiding, hard-working, critical thinking Americans see the world going insane as the passage of time leads towards the death of an American empire.

Waters and Gilmour lyrics have always captured the falsity of the world, whether it be the music industry, the ruling elite, educational system, politicians, the military, or our own delusions that keep us from accepting the truth. Their cynicism about our world appeals to my natural inclination towards skepticism about mankind and those constituting the invisible government, controlling the levers of our society.

Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall capture the injustice, depravity, and degradation of our society into a toxic mix of Orwell’s 1984 and Huxley’s Brave New World, with an all- encompassing surveillance state, a populace amused to death by their electronic gadgets and oligarchs implementing every propaganda technique ever conceived in the warped mind of Edward Bernays.

I’ve found Pink Floyd lyrics to be inspirational in previous articles I’ve written over the years, including: Mother Should I Trust the Government, Comfortably Numb, and Hey You. I’ve selected the lyrics from a few songs on the Dark Side of the Moon album as a reflection of what I’m seeing in our world today.

Money

Image result for money pink floyd"

Money, get away
Get a good job with more pay and you’re O.K.
Money, it’s a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I’ll buy me a football team

No one can deny money is the primary driver of American society and a culture of greed and avarice has been promoted by those in power. The wanton materialism of the masses has been driven by the oligarchs, the financial industrial complex, and the media whores incessantly promoting products, services, and “unnecessary” necessities. The people of this country were far less materialistic in the early 70’s when this song was written.

The credit card was in its infancy. People paid cash for their purchases. Nixon closing the gold window and the proliferation of credit by the financial industry marked a terrible turning point for the country. Politicians were unrestrained from making promises on the backs of unborn generations. The national debt was $458 billion in 1973, after 184 years as an independent country. We create that much debt in about 5 months today. From $458 billion to $23.1 trillion in 46 years. Debt to GDP ratio up from 32% to 110%, all thanks to the Federal Reserve, their Wall Street owners, and the captured politicians in Washington.

It’s not money that makes the world go around, it’s debt. The concept of saving money until you have enough to make a desired purchase is inconceivable to today’s generations. Deferred gratification is an antiquated notion in our instant satisfaction society. Generations have been socially engineered in government schools and propagandized through the techniques of Edward Bernays by the corporate fascists to believe buying baubles, trinkets, gadgets and luxury automobiles on credit makes them wealthier, when it only makes them debt serfs.

Keeping up with the Joneses has been ingrained in their psyches through the conscious and intelligent manipulation of their minds by the unseen forces operating behind the curtain. Whether you call them the Deep State or the invisible government, they represent the true ruling power of the country.

Money, it’s a crime
Share it fairly but don’t take a slice of my pie
Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil today
But if you ask for a rise it’s no surprise that they’re giving none away

Money and who controls it is the major storyline of our time. It truly is the root of all evil today, yesterday and tomorrow. Human nature never changes, so greed and material desires have always and will always drive the actions of some people. The most dangerous of these sociopaths are those with the highest IQs. The competing narratives about wealth inequality, the causes and the solutions are, hot and heavy as the presidential campaign heats up.

Both sides tell half-truths, which turn out to be great lies. The truth is true free market capitalism is the best method for wealth creation with the majority of a population willing to work. But the fact is we don’t have anything resembling free market capitalism. Instead we have a corporate fascist oligarchy, where a relatively small number of mega-corporations control all the major markets, exerting their near monopolistic control by bribing politicians and regulators to maintain their control, power and riches.

The socialist/communist Democrat presidential candidates and their intellectually challenged minions believe the solution to wealth inequality is to drastically increase taxes on the rich, which always results in higher taxes on the not so rich. Having 535 power hungry, low intellect, low morals, highly corrupt apparatchiks decide how to redistribute the wealth of the country has proven to be a disaster. The $23 trillion of debt and $200 trillion of unfunded welfare liabilities is a testament to their worthlessness and sleaze.

The military industrial complex, sick care complex, Silicon Valley tech complex, propaganda corporate media complex, and Wall Street cabal wield immense power and control over this country, funneling money from the taxpayers to the .1% at the top of the pyramid. These corporations destroy smaller competitors through regulatory capture and buying off political candidates. This unholy alliance between corporations and government is the definition of corporate fascism.

I’m all for lower taxes. Keeping more of the money I have earned is my preference. Government halfwits extracting money from my pocket to waste on wars in foreign lands, welfare programs as payoffs for votes, inefficient corrupt infrastructure projects, and tax breaks for mega-corporations so they can buy back their stock and enrich their executives, is not free market capitalism.

Reveling in stock market records on Wall Street enriching the .1%, while average Americans on Main Street struggle to pay for rent and basic healthcare, exposes the warped nature of our society. Those with critical thinking skills comprehend the Ponzi nature of our entire economic system, built upon a crumbling foundation of ever-expanding debt.

The repeal of Glass-Steagall set in motion a disastrous sequence of events which is still playing out today. Allowing Wall Street banks to combine traditional lending with the high-risk betting of investment banking, while also allowing six Too Big To Trust mega-banks to capture the majority of deposits, mortgage lending, credit card business, and auto loans, has created a heads they win tails we lose economic system.

These Wall Street shysters use their political power to control Congress and their ownership power to bully the spineless academics at the Federal Reserve into doing whatever they demand. They blew up the world in 2008 with their massive mortgage fraud scheme, demanded $700 billion of TARP through their Goldman Sachs Treasury Secretary, forced Congress – against the will of the people – to pass it, had their puppets at the Federal Reserve buy their toxic debt and provide unlimited free financing, and faced zero criminal consequences through their control of the regulatory agencies.

What was once illegal – a corporation buying back its own stock – has become the latest fraudulent scheme used to mislead the masses and enrich the oligarchs. The Wall Street banks lend hundreds of billions to mega-corporations at near zero rates. The executives of these mega-corporations then use the debt to buy back billions of their stock, therefore artificially inflating their EPS, driving the stock price higher as Wall Street banks provide positive propaganda spin, and the executives reward themselves with stock options and sell along the way, becoming filthy rich in the process.

Meanwhile, actual corporate profits are no higher today than they were in 2014, while the market is up 70%, propelled by easy money provided by the Fed. While the Wall Street banks borrow at near zero rates from the Fed, they charge the average American 17% on their credit card balance. The money piles up in bank accounts of the oligarchy, while the debt piles up on the backs of American taxpayers.

Us and Them

Image result for pink floyd us and them"

Us and them
And after all we’re only ordinary men

Me and you
God only knows it’s not what we would choose to do

“Forward!” he cried
From the rear
And the front rank died
And the general sat
And the lines on the map
Moved from side to side

The Us versus Them theme has never been more obvious than today. The song uses war as the basis for examining the futility and stupidity of human conflict. But human nature lends itself to tribalism and war like behavior, as seen through the ages. When you witness the U.S. continuing to wage an eighteen-year war in Afghanistan, while fomenting civil war in Syria, Yemen, Libya, Ukraine and Venezuela, you have to wonder what threats to our safety and security these wars are protecting us from. The truth is these wars of choice aren’t protecting Americans from invasion or attack.

The never-ending war on terrorism was necessary to keep the military industrial complex satiated and enriched. The end of the Cold War threatened their immense profits. As Smedley Butler noted eighty-four years ago, war is a racket. Old men order young men to die on behalf of mega-corporations for oil and riches. The amoral arms industry sells to everyone, with their propaganda mouthpieces stirring up discontent throughout the world, so their killing wares are used up and replaced, with obscene profits generated by the deaths of innocents.

The Waters/Wright lyrics capture the unequivocal truth we are just ordinary people, with no desire to kill each other. I don’t hate Russians, Chinese, Syrians, or other Americans. The average person in this world is just trying to live their life, earn a living, support their family, and try to achieve some semblance of happiness during their short stay on this planet.

It is through the dumbing down of the populace via government school indoctrination and incessant fear propaganda pumped into their pliable brains by Deep State controlled media, creating phantom enemies and fake threats, that feeds the war machine with close to $1 trillion per year. War is good business. And young poor men are the cannon fodder, publicized as heroes, but actually nothing more than instruments of wealth extraction for the oil industry and arms dealers. Old rich men sentencing young poor men to death to keep the profits flowing.

Pink Floyd - Us & Them [OC] : r/fakealbumcovers

Black and blue
And who knows which is which and who is who?

Up and down
And in the end it’s only round and round and round

“Haven’t you heard
It’s a battle of words?”
The poster bearer cried.

There is a plethora of Us and Them scenarios currently in play. The song was geared towards traditional war where the leaders, safe in their luxury office buildings, sent young men to kill other young men, even though the young men had no particular issue with those they were killing. I’m reminded of Orwell’s 1984 where the enemy changed whenever Big Brother found it convenient:

“The past was alterable. The past never had been altered. Oceania was at war with Eastasia. Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.”

The black and blue are now the red and blue, with Republicans and Democrats sworn enemies, with no chance of compromise on their positions. The country is divided as deeply as it was in 1860. The chatter about civil war grows louder. The upcoming presidential election results will likely not be honored by the losers. Civil chaos is likely to ensue. We have been witnessing the prologue to civil war for the last three years, as the Democrats refuse to accept the 2016 result.

Democrats will not accept Trump as president and have used every opportunity to thwart his every move. At first the resistance seemed genuine, as their beloved Hillary managed to lose an unlosable election due to her hubris and arrogant loathing for the deplorables in flyover country. Trump voters proved to be the silent majority. The Russians had nothing to do with his victory. Hatred of the establishment of both parties by a majority is why Trump is president. His victory has further revealed the true Us and Them.

The current impeachment farce, the defunct Russiagate sham, the Mueller travesty, and the never-ending stream of fake news from the left-wing media has exposed the truth about a Deep State. Only conspiracy nuts like myself talked about the Deep State five years ago. Not only does it exist, but it is openly flaunting its power by attempting a three-year coup against a sitting president.

These surveillance state manipulators of public opinion are THEM. They are the personification of evil. They want nothing less than complete control over all levers of government, industry, finance and media. These rogue traitors to the Constitution boldly flaunt their lawlessness on prime-time propaganda news networks, blatantly lying to America about their true intentions.

This truly is the battle of this century. Will a small cadre of unelected, unregulated, unaccountable thugs be allowed to use the massive power of the state to rule over the plebs, enriching themselves and their acolytes? Or will the people – US – regain control over the destiny of our country, through whatever means necessary? It is becoming quite clear to me, these evil men will not relinquish their wealth, power and control without a fight requiring a violent response by the deplorables.

The second half of the ongoing Fourth Turning is destined to be bloody, as this Federal Reserve created Himalayan mountain of debt collapses for the simple reason it can never be serviced or repaid. History has proven Ponzi schemes always end in disaster. Always.

In part 2 of this article I will tackle the themes of how our time on this earth can mean something if we choose to make a difference. See you on the dark side of the moon.

Well thought out article. Pretty depressing though.

In the final analysis, the Fed Gov is the primary source of all the problems. They’re the ones wasting our resources and becoming more totalitarian by the day. The states followed the Fed Gov’s lead and stupid became policy. The Fed Gov was the states backstop so the states figured that they could enact ridiculous policies and get away with it.

The $23T should just be defaulted on as it can’t be repaid honestly. Lots of people would lose their source of income, but that’s going to happen anyway.

Instead of voting for another administration, we should be organizing to get the states to secede en masse. Just cancel the Fed Gov. There’s enough state gov’t to handle day to day operations. Everything the Fed Gov has touched has turned to shit, so it’s time to just cut it off.

The military is worthless for defense. Just terminate 90% of it. Let the defense contractors go broke. Terminate all funding for overseas operations. Let investigators figure out who got rich screwing the population and claw back every dime.

Find out how all the politicians got rich by bullshiting us. Go after them.

I kinda don’t mind the shoot first mentality. I mean, Blam! Blam! Halt! has a certain basic charm to it.

In The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, the Bad says, “if you are going to shoot, shoot, don’t talk”. Seems like pretty good advice.

My dear missus gets all riled up at me when we watch movies. A bad guy gets hit on the head and goes down, and I start screaming at the TV “Hit him again! Hit him again!” Because how often do you see them get back up? Often, that’s what. So shoot, don’t talk, and hit ‘em again.

“All the welfare recipients in the ghetto…” How about the welfare recipients in rural areas? The ghetto inhabitant is the sterotypical welfare recipient, but in fact there are way more welfare recipients in rural areas than in urban areas. There are few dozen large urban areas in America, and yes, they do have high concentrations of welfare recipients. But there are thousands and thousands of small towns across America and the sum total of welfare recipients in those surpasses in number the welfare recipients in urban areas.

I am not saying we are typical, but the average income in this county in the Ozarks, about a hundred miles from St. Louis… is $18,700. HOUSEHOLD income.

The food bank downtown is packed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is a large number of people drawing a variety of disability (who knew a kid could be disabled who has a driver’s license and can get a hunting tag!)and/or public assistance.

There is a cycle of poverty in all segments of society. Even the hardworking ones. These are disabled people who will “work” for 10 dollars an hour cash and carry.

I too have lived in rural areas of America and seen the poverty first hand. The rural poor are screwed by both sides: 1. the liberals don’t care about them because they are not their precious POCs. Instead, they are “deplorables” inhabiting the flyover states rather than their precious big cites; 2. the right forgets about them because the right is focused on the sterotypical ghetto welfare queens.

Take a look at the Wikipedia poorest counties in America below. The poorest counties in America are not Los Angles County or Wayne County (where Detroit is). The poorest counties are almost exclusively rural. The list below is of the 50 poorest counties. If you extended that list to the 100 poorest, or 200 poorest, you would see that pattern extended right down the list.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_lowest-income_counties_in_the_United_States

The poor in the thousands of poverty-stricken towns in these hundreds of poverty-stricken counties outnumber all the ghetto welfare queens in the big cities.

And few on the left or the right gives a crap about them.

A lot of the rural poor are willing to work. Like you mention above though, I’ve known folks who choose the “disability” route instead of hard work. Problem in rural areas is that jobs are few. Many of them get around that by starting their own business. Hard worker but no jobs… start your own business!

It is interesting to compare urban and rural poor. One interesting thing I noticed and started commenting on in the past few years is how drug epidemics affected urban vs rural populations. When drugs like coke an crack moved into urban areas in the 90’s violence, murder, and gangs moved in too. When meth moved into rural areas in the 2000’s violence did not also move in. Crime like robbery and burglary increased, but the violence and gangs never move in a crips /bloods fashion.

Why the difference?

So, you can live on 18k in the rural areas. The cost of living isn’t as high as the cities. I live around lots of single and double wides, a family will buy an acre and put a mobile home on it for less than 60k, impossible to do in the burbs. They often garden, raise chickens and work in town.

The great irony is that 54k is considered poverty….and…depending on where you live and the cost of living, that is poverty. No one ever talks about how much taxation causes poverty, how many taxes eat into earnings. Property taxes, car taxes, income taxes and all the hidden taxes and fees on things like phone and utilities, it all adds up.

I can buy a singlewide for about 20k. That gives me an instant house, no contractor, building fees, etc. needed. Acre of land is around 10k depending on where you go.

Where the real issue of poverty comes in is ignorance. I can cook, put food aside and eat well. That’s because I know how, I can cook and I know how to budget. I know how to sew, make soap, raise chickens, etc. I reuse and mend rather than throw stuff away. Lots of poor folk lack that knowledge and they’re the Walmart, ebt folk. They’re also in poor health due to poor diet, overweight and no exercise. The rural poor are often as ignorant as their city counterparts.

There was a program about Appalachia, covered different families and the healthiest family was run by a single black mother who gardened, had a milk goat and raised chickens. She worked her butt off and her kids were clean, healthy and bright.

Great map, but pay attention to what it is showing. this map is showing participation rates in the TANF program. It is not showing number of people in the TANF program. Look at the subtitle of the map -it is number per 100 poor families. So its a percentage. This map is showing that the highest rate of participation in TANF is in California where 65.5% of poor families participate in TANF.

Get rid of 90% of it. The 10% knows how the intricate weapons systems work. I propose the Swiss model that’s been working for them for a century. Take the weaponry and distribute it among the people that paid for it. No need for ‘professional’ scumbags.

I’m replacing loads of FSA types that haven’t had the guts to refuse to murder people in foreign lands for no good reason with the general population. A new military is maintained but with a change of crew. Let the military FSA types pound sand.

Think about it. The US is loaded with weaponry in the hands of decent people. Should anyone try anything, those folks will need to be reckoned with.

When the USSR fell, some of their internal docs came to light and their view was that attacking the US would be suicide as there would be a gun behind every blade of grass. There’s simply no need of the amoral military types as they’re what helped cause the current situation.

There is a huge difference between us and the USSR. Apples and…toilet bowl brushes. This is a book-level topic that Orlov has already partially tackled on a macro level, but I’m not sure at a military/logistical level.

First, when they collapsed, they didn’t strand their entire military OCONUS, leaving themselves vulnerable. Never fight a land war in Asia.

Second, the USA pre-WW2 was not made of the same guts (or lack thereof) as today.

Third, most important infrastructure in the USSR and its Soviet Republics were serviced by rail (specifically, the Trans-Siberian Railroad from Moscow to Vladivostok near…who?). When they went down, they still had the ability to ship the bare necessities.

Need I go on? There are many moving parts here. No simple solutions. Yes, I’ve thought about it. Both personally and professionally, and yes, written papers on it. It is not fathomable to people how tenuous of a situation our nation is in right now. It cannot be understated.

I don’t think you understand how your own supply chain in the Caribbean would collapse. Nothing would be left untouched.

Who has the manpower and the ships/planes to land an invasion force?
If one did land, how would they hold something as large as the continental US?
Someone would have to be stupid to try an invasion.

If anyone wanted to hit the US, it would be with missiles. The 10% keeps US missiles operational. The rest is just useless window dressing and has been since WW-II.

In your “obvious solution”, you’ve already disbanded 90% of the military.

So there goes your infrastructure protection, all levels.

There goes your air defenses.

The guys stranded OCONUS? Be prepared for them to attack and subvert whatever remains of your logistics and FOLs overseas. They’d be well-trained mercs looking to just make ends meet in a world of America-haters.

And let’s not forget, no more border security unless you think you can pay them with toilet paper rolls. So now you have Reconquista from the south, ChiComs and Russians well situated in LatAm, etc. But I’m sure you already knew recent LatAm pre-positioning and govt. toppling wasn’t just for show, right?

They wouldn’t need to land an attack force. Just an occupying force with a bunch of unused barges when the Baltic Dry collapses to zero.

SAO?

I suppose my husband is one of those useless slobs of whom you speak (and I’m a disabled Vet now! final rating pending review).

The retirement pension isn’t all that nice, since it is 50% of base pay, taxable.

The disability rating from the Veterans Administration is much better, since that is nontaxable and is also UNFUNDED as part of my severance package when the USAF medically separated me. It was quite an unexpected “bonus” last year when I applied for a retroactive pension to see if it was a “real” thing and have discovered that it is indeed an entitlement supported by regulation. Now? Is that MY fault?

As for our military service?

We thought, at the time, that what we were doing while flying figure eight orbits or big oval patterns over various foreign locales was helping promote freedom and democracy throughout the world. Every deployment came with its own set of reading material, explaining the “enemy” and why we were against them wherever. My role in the surveillance business (AWACS) was pretty much as you described: Turn on, operate and maintain the radar system for ten hours, give or take a couple hours. Mostly, sit on my ass reading books, occasionally checking the radar system’s performance and sometimes wandering from the flight deck to the galley. Sometimes, I slept in the bunk beds outside the latrine in the back of the airplane.

As for the useless bases?

They are still there. Some of them are Superfund Environmental sites.

You weren’t willfully blind to the atrocities committed so you could have an easy goof off job were you? You didn’t have to see the ants below that died when someone else pushed the button.

No one that joined the US military since WW-II has a clean conscience or clean hands. I hope you realize that you helped support the murder of people around the planet for profit. Major General Smedley Butler knew the score and publicized it before you were born. To claim ignorance or misguided belief doesn’t change the facts that people died with your help.

I do have a clean conscience though I suspect there are a lot of people who died “with the help of AWACS controllers” using the radar return data to advise warfighters who were carrying weapons of varying destructive capability.

It was our job. As I said, I believed what we were doing was both justified and necessary. Was I propagandized? Sure, but aren’t we all?

So, I still take pride in my service, as does my husband. But, we realize the military leadership has a completely different mission objective in mind than the one we believed to be worth our loyalty.

In the scenario (war games) the grid is down, people are in a confused state, struggling to feed themselves and heat their homes.

They are actually probably relieved to see relief organizations associated with the UN coming down the road with supply trucks.

No attack! Welcomed with open and hungry arms.

Who has the manpower? The enemy is within the gates.

After the power grid is down and communication is localized and controlled as much as possible, there will be no continental US. New regional/feudal boundaries will begin to form. (I never did get those radios out and charged… I need to do that.)

What you describe used to be my great hope and we still could have pulled it off in the 90’s if we hadn’t been thrown under the bus. It’s too late for that now. The lenders will get the US as payment for the debt we have piled up. We will get a visqeen tent in what will look like Calcutta. It’s all set up to go already. When the dust settles maybe some of our offspring can do something but this is going to last a long time. Fuel air bombs and germicide will remove any county sized pockets of resisters. Roundup will be sprayed on our crops. Small cells can avoid attention but not large militias.
If Trump were to take command of all the military right now and cancel washington there might be a chance because he would need us. I don’t see that happening. I’ll last as long as my supply of inhalers but I’ll go out praying for my dozens of neices and nephews, most of whom I’ve taught guerrilla warfare. Wish it could be otherwise.

I’m under no delusion that we’re not fooked. We are, badly so. If we had taken our lumps in 2008, we could have at least kept the pain at ~-10% GDP and renegotiated the debt globally. That’s still depression-level.

If we do it right here, today, we could perhaps cap it at, say, 15%. But that would mean gutting Medicare/Medicaid and foreign wars. You’d still need the military to quell insurrection and uphold martial law in a dozen major cities.

I’ve just been down this entire thought experiment many times as many different actors. It never ends well for a 50 state Union.

The fucking Swiss model? What are you, a maroon? The Swiss live in the damn near impenetrable mountains, it suits all the warring nations to have a neutral country nearby, and there ain’t anything worth having in Switzerland (well, the bank vaults I suppose). That is the Swiss model.

But that said, the US has no business being a policeman to the world, and every American would be well served to be armed.

“The fucking Swiss model?”

Well, I wouldn’t be so negative. There much to be said about how the Swiss conduct themselves.

For centuries they’ve successfully refrained from meddling, forcefully or otherwise, in other countries’ affairs or imposing their culture or politics on other peoples. They have refused to join the EU. Though ethnically diverse, they are racially homogeneous, and immigration is strictly limited, difficult, and expensive.

The president serves a one-year term IIRC and functions more as a spokesman than a decision maker. Failure to pay a tax for any reason is not a violation of thc criminal code, and disputes are negotiated at the canton administrative level, not in a court of law. Cantons exercise a high degree of autonomy on economic, cultural, and quotidian matters.

The Swiss are armed to the teeth, their mountains honeycombed with armories and heavy ordnance tactically positioned along all avenues of approach, making it extremely costly for any land force to penetrate the borders.

Every able-bodied male citizen is at least a reservist, trains regularly, keeps his personal weapons at home, and open carries in public at will.

Until recently their banking system was the gold standard, so to speak. Many of their banks were traditional, small, family-owned companies , offering highly specialized personal services and storage facilities. Violating a customer’s privacy or disclosing his identity without permission is a criminal offense, rather than a mandatory service to Uncle..

The Swiss franc was backed by gold and was the internationally preferred currency for hedging against inflation and geopolitical risks. Admittedly, in the last decade or so, the Swiss have caved in to international pressure to weaken some of these advantages.

“…there ain’t anything worth having in Switzerland…”

Well, there is the Cern particle collider.

FWIW, from first-hand experience, I would say that Swiss engineering, especially chemical and mining, ranks among the most advanced worldwide.

Just sayin’.

We need a port so Vancouver or Seattle/Portland get to come along whether they want to or not. Texas goes back to being TX (Then it will be 7 Flags not 6!), The South will see lots of drama as there is lots of mixed Red/Blue and the Northeast will go solid Blue. The Southwest will partially slide back to TX and the rest will be cartel land….The Midwest and Mountain South are up for grabs though the Mormons will make a failed effort at independence…but being landlocked it will suck.

Then the Pacwest….well they are truly screwed, cut off from the rest of the blue and highly vulnerable…the Chicoms might start there.

Good for you, now you are thinking….Solutions are not so obvious are they….very few if any of the available solutions result in a peaceful resolution…..Who indeed will feed the FSA when the US defaults or defaults via the Zimbabwe solution (or Germany if you prefer as I know the Trogs do)?

Well, of course, some (pick your own %) will starve in the land of plenty, some will riot/loot and be killed and some will get their act together put down the meth/crack pipe and start making living….

The shitstorm is here….” mean old levee, taught me to weep and moan”….When the Levee Breaks…Led Zeppelin the levee is crumbling right in front of us….

How long before a coalition of the willing decides they have had enough of DC’s BS? Internal collapse, external invasion…yep and all the solutions suck ass but it is the best we got….

Every dollar is a debt instrument. You are absolutely correct. Most people think it’s money.

The US started the steady march down hill when the Federal Reserve was instituted. It was a thieves bargain between the bankers and politicians to cheat the public and purchase votes with deficit spending which eventually becomes another monetized debt.

Everyone should read The Creature from Jekyll Island and understand how devious the bankers and political class have been for over a hundred years.

“It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe that there would be a revolution before morning.” – Henry Ford

Answer:

“The cancer will not be stopped from engulfing the entire world. In fact, the cancer already engulfed the entire world … unless you exclude a few individuals in the extreme boonies here and there (who are effectively disconnected and too far away from uncivilization to be easy to deal with).

The other way to answer the question is how I end most post, by reminded everyone of the basic facts, namely:

Humans are dumber than rocks. Literally.
Humans are a failed species.
Humans are doomed.

I’ll be a bit more specific this time, just for the hell of it. Not that doing so will help.

As long as humans do not distinguish blatant inherent fictions from non-fiction (as in… reality), humans will remain dumber than rocks and easily manipulated.

On the issue at hand in the above article, the most central and important inherent fiction is authority. The concept authority is inherent fiction. Not only does authority not exist, but also, authority cannot exist. No way exists for any human to have or gain “authority” over any other human being. To anyone who has even modest intellectual capacity, a few minutes (or hours or at most days) of honest thought provides plenty of proof of this.

Once a human understands authority does not and cannot possibly exist, it become obvious that all the following (and hundreds more) are also bogus inherent fictions that also cannot exist: law, legal, state, nation, official, government, corporation, organization, and so forth.

In other words, in pattern, all that exists are humans, other animals, other life forms (plants, bacteria, virus, etc) … and a big honking cold, mostly dark (but beautifully starlit) physical universe out there.

And what matters to human existence is how humans and animals behave, which most fundamentally and importantly categorizes them as predators, parasites, producers. A human who understands the above can grasp, understand, and know how to cope with the reality he finds himself in. Every other human is dumber than a rock, and thus so utterly and completely confused about reality (and fiction) that his mind and body are manipulated by the endless nonsense purposely spread by human predators and parasites in order to control the producers who produce all the goods and goodies they and producers need to survive, prosper and enjoy life. The producers are by far the most ignorant, largely because they’re so busy focusing on the reality the need to manipulate in order to create and produce the millions of goods and goodies they and their masters (predators and parasites) need to survive, prosper and enjoy life.

Humans will continue to be TOTALLY SCREWED as long as human producers keep aiding, sanctioning, funding, voting-for and obeying human predators and parasites. Always remember. Human producers all the real, physical goods that human predators and parasites apply to enslave, confuse and manipulate human producers. Since human producers are even dumber than human predators and human parasites … and only become even dumber as time passes … well, that’s why humans are screwed.

All human producers need to do is say NO MORE OF THIS BS … and do what all sane creatures with an IQ above 10 do … namely exterminate dangerous predators. Or when that happens to be a bit too dangerous in a current instance, at least avoid, evade and escape the predators and parasites, and do not give them any goods or goodies, which is what keeps them alive and makes their job of enslaving you easy.

Oh, never mind. It is too simple, and humans are too stupid.

Humans are dumber than rocks.
Humans are a failed species.
Humans are doomed.

For the infinitesimal number of humans who truly understand the above, the way to live is to move to the extreme boonies and set up a simple, self-sufficient life for yourself … so far away from uncivilization that all other humans live in that the predators and parasites don’t even know you exist, much less where.”

Thanks Mygirl…maybe. A horse or mule wont pack the garden like a tractor and I just enjoy it. I use a double shovel between the rows and nothing like hearing them shovels slide through the soil without the noise of an engine, people don’t know what they are missing by ignoring the old ways. I log that way too, just quieter and slow, more my style. You are correct on the differences of a mule and a horse. A good mule is worth it’s weight in gold and when this all goes upchuck may prove to be more valuable. I can garden with her, pull firewood to the house or ride her town and she is an excellent alarm. If you see her standing alert, you better pay attention, somethings out there. Just my opinion, Thanks.

As usual, Jim, you hit a home run on several different topics. There was a reason Jefferson wanted to prohibit federal borrowing. It doesn’t matter if you use toilet paper or gold as money if the govt. has the ability to borrow with no intention of ever paying it back. It’s fraud, pure and simple.

I wish it were possible to obtain a single amendment to our constitution; I would be willing to depend on that alone for the reduction of the administration of our government to the genuine principles of it’s constitution; I mean an additional article taking from the federal government the power of borrowing. I now deny their power of making paper money or any thing else a legal tender. I know that to pay all proper expences within the year would, in case of war, be hard on us. but not so hard as ten wars instead of one. for wars would be reduced in that proportion. besides that the state governments would be free to lend their credit in borrowing quotas.

What a great paragraph from a great essay. It’s one of my JQ favorites. Amidst the bleakness, you do note that most ordinary people have no desire to dominate, control, or kill other ordinary people. One of these days most people will realize that it’s the “ordinary” people who are humanity’s hope, not the “leaders.” They might even do something constructive about the leaders, like get rid of them.

I’ll post this tonight.

the Scotch-Irish are not Irish. They are Scottish Protestant Lowlanders who were allowed to go to northern Ireland and dispossess the Irish from their land. They excelled at theft and murder so the brits then sent them to do the same thing to Llpoh’s Kin in Apalachia and then on to Texas and the Northern plains. Llpoh’s right about the disposition. Exactly and don’t forget they sent us to the penal colony in OZ and then used us to conquer the world as troops in the UK military….I still am confused about how we kicked the Native Americans asses…I guess numbers and smallpox count in the end….The local tribes in MT are awesome physical specimens….terrifying and tough. I can’t imagine how scary it would have been to be a pioneer in “Indian Country”…

I’ve noticed that the people who post regularly on this site tend to have issues with authority, are independent to a fault, are intelligent (much smarter than the average) not inclined to accept the unacceptable or tolerate the intolerable, somewhat quick tempered and mostly probably loyal to those whom they deem worthy of said loyalty.

The indians did themselves in thru internecine warfare. Instead of banding together and fighting the common foe they fought amongst themselves and often went to work for the enemy to get even with other tribes. I’ve known several of the folks from the plains tribes and they are indeed powerful folk. Their undoing in most instances is booze and drugs.

I have several first hand accounts of encounters with the early settlers in Texas and the indians. Many were shot and scalped right outside their cabins, and sometimes the indians did it. There was old man Tonderes, he was murdered, buried and his killers dug him up and placed his corpse on his front porch because killing him wasn’t enough, apparently.

William Munny in Unforgiven said “We all got it coming.” Even ol’ Ned did who tried to give up the killin’ going on got it. Little Bill told him bad was coming, “Not gentle like before.” Karma, baby. All those bad men at the top and right down to the bottom will get it and the good guys won’t have to do a thing they already don’t do. Be a light unto oneself and take your just desserts even as you act the warrior/protector out of necessity and predilection. I know you already know this. It’s just a reminder. It’s not that money is evil, no more than a gun is evil. Both are just tools. It’s the people behind the money. They love money so much they can never get enough of it and they want us to love stuff so much we will keep piling on the debt. It’s the only way they can create more money by convincing us we need more stuff.

I love they way you worked in the words to the album with your essay. Very creative.

“believe buying baubles, trinkets, gadgets and luxury automobiles on credit makes them wealthier, when it only makes them debt serfs.”
Most know the truth of this, and yet clamor for more.
Hard to imagine a solution for this, in this Age of debt. As a corollary, the age old phrase “Making Money”, has morphed and truly making money, is actually borrowing it, as that is how it springs to life, it’s borrowed.
“The Us versus Them theme has never been more obvious than today.”
I wrestle with this timeless Hegelian incantation, it should not have to be true, but nonetheless never fails to be true. A necessary component to every 4th Turning as well, reduction to dialectic is a precondition to the Crisis.
Progressing as predicted, it seems to be an unstoppable condition, that the architects are keenly aware of, an innate, inseparable human deficiency. We can always, easily be divided into Us and Them.
As always, thank you for the excellent work and I eagerly await the next, always eagerly awaiting the next.

An epic article. For sure. And the tracks on the album do lend themselves to current circumstances.

This was the money shot for me:

It’s not money that makes the world go around, it’s debt.

So true and not just because most people don’t pay cash anymore, but because every dollar is, in fact, debt. It means the more that is printed the more that is owed. It’s like the trap was set in 1913 and since then Americans have been frogs swimming in a sea of green; gradually approaching the boiling point. Slowly at first until suddenly.

The heat is turned up in the kitchen and Americans will soon drown in an inflationary vortex to the sounds of bubbles bursting. Hell, it’s already happening.

Since the financial trap was first set, the progression has been steady. Like clockwork.

Which calls to mind three more tracks from the Dark Side of the Moon: Time, Brain Damage, and Eclipse.

Looking forward to the next installment – albeit with an admitted more than a modicum of dread.

“It is through the dumbing down of the populace via government school indoctrination and incessant fear propaganda pumped into their pliable brains by Deep State controlled media, creating phantom enemies and fake threats, that feeds the war machine with close to $1 trillion per year. War is good business. And young poor men are the cannon fodder, publicized as heroes, but actually nothing more than instruments of wealth extraction for the oil industry and arms dealers. Old rich men sentencing young poor men to death to keep the profits flowing.”

Donkey,

In relation to your post and Admins powerful article to me everything, I mean everything, traces back to the KISS principle. Keep it simple stupid – it’s the Luciferian Banksters.

The Luciferian Banksters who fund and control the international Bolshevik’s and the Zionists who seem to be fighting for control of the emerging NWO are the enemy, the evil, the power:

“Behind school indoctrination and incessant fear propaganda pumped into their pliable brains by Deep State controlled media, creating phantom enemies and fake threats that feeds the war machine.”

In no particular order:
They are behind the Georgia Guidestones, Chem trailing & DEW cooking people alive in their beds and cars, The CIA – The Vatican & the Mafia becoming the greatest drug dealing unholy alliance in the history of the world, the Everything Bubble, Epstein and all that implies, all the FF wars and the horrors and massive deaths that implies, most of the shooting FF to beat the drum to disarm the American people one of the greatest threats they face, The Club of Rome and the Climate Change hoax, The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and the corruption of American foreign policy since the 1920’s, Antifa, Hollywood, and since 1965 flooding the US with low IQ 3rd world people to demographically weaken us, the creation of derivatives and suppression of Precious Metals, the gender/gay perversions being shoved down our throats, they fund the various radical Think Tanks and Foundations with our own wealth that they have stolen from us, the flooding of Europe with Muslims…shit I could go on and on…

It is all traced back to the Luciferian Banksters who worship their god.

It’s all coming to a head, and if you want to know how it turns out read and study the book, because I believe we all are going to have a front row seat to unfolding prophecy.

Got a big To Do list today buddy, but I’ll pop in and out for coffee and snacks and check back with you.

CONCLUSION: CABALIST BLACK MAGIC

The Illuminati control the mass media and use it to induct us into their Cabalist nightmare. We become what we contemplate: violence, greed, lust (pornography,) homosexuality, and the occult. Art and entertainment are designed to remove us from historical reality. Does anyone believe the Oscar nominated Lincoln, written and directed by Illuminati Jews, tells us the true story? The real story, mankind’s possession by a satanic secret society, is never told.

Mass media-control allows them to perform their magic tricks: conjure wars, demolish iconic skyscrapers or murder children.

Jews need to disown the Satanists in their ranks or they will take the blame. (This applies to all groups.) The days when Jews can pretend anti-Semitism is an irrational sickness are over.

Like my past self, most people are unwitting collaborators. Often, they are idealists. But it’s never too late to acknowledge they were duped, and face reality.

I’ve been listening to Pink Floyd since I was 15 and I can still remember the very first time I heard them on the radio, how I rode my bicycle to the record store and bought the album and how when my father came home from work I made him sit down and listen to it from beginning to end like he’d done with me a thousand times before with Mozart and Bach so he could understand me. I continued to follow them my entire life, their albums creating a soundtrack to huge swaths of my life, sometimes center stage, other times fading into the background, but always remaining fixed, like the North Star in my consciousness. I know it was in part the simple mastery of the instrumentation, the swelling sound and ethereal tone that flows through everything they have ever done, but there was always something more to it, a thread that ran through it all. The lyrics were easy to follow but there was always some depth to them that you could never get to, something would come up that would convince you of their genius- like Money played to The Wizard of Oz- and then ten years later you’d suddenly “get” what Wish You Were Here was really about, even though you thought you knew before. It never fails to capture my attention no matter how often I have heard it.

I’m getting off topic somewhat, but I wanted to find a way of saying thank you for this- I know I share a great deal of similar generational, ethnic, and regional consanguinity with you Jim so I am able to follow your line of thinking and understanding quite well, but this really helped me understand one of my all time favorite pieces of music in a very different way, as a manifesto. I wonder, after reading this, if even they were completely aware of what they were writing, if they fully grasped how important their vision is to understanding the world we live in and it’s complex and at times frustrating combination of beauty and truth as well as perfidy and degradation. Profound is the closest word I can think of that fits.

This was a profound piece.

Because you write so much better than me I’m just going to say “ditto”.

A friend and I were lucky enough to land a couple of free tickets to see them when I was 15. It was right before the album went into general release but they were touring to bump start the release. It was a smaller venue (about 3000) and were only a few rows back from the stage. I bought the album and listened over and over until I knew all the lyrics by heart. I never really understood what they were trying to say until now. And I agree that we don’t know whether they even fully understood the vision they were projecting.

In a Public Relations/Advertising class, I once learned that Avon Industries had some real success in the 1990s marketing their makeup line to poverty-stricken women in South and Central America. The women, living in shacks and hovels, would go into debt to AVON to stockpile the makeup, believing wearing it made them successful… and they tried then to sell makeup door to door to other subsistence farmers.

That’s how we exported a complete loathing for the American business model, which is intended to force our way of doing things down everyone’s throat, like it or need it or not.

Admin mentioned early in the essay that

Generations have been socially engineered in government schools and propagandized through the techniques of Edward Bernays by the corporate fascists to believe buying baubles, trinkets, gadgets and luxury automobiles on credit makes them wealthier, when it only makes them debt serfs.

Thought it worth mentioning… Is AVON still in business as a makeup company?

Avon is alive and well. My rural family members couldn’t get make-up and perfumes and such locally, not the ‘fancy’ stuff anyways, only source for most cosmetics was the Five and Dime. I have fond memories of the smell of Coty face powder, Pond’s cold cream and Avon Skin so Soft. Avon also came out with some great packaging, little cars and glass roosters and other odd and sundry items. Said items are collectibles for some.

“. . . Young poor men are the cannon fodder, publicized as heroes, but actually nothing more than instruments of wealth extraction for the oil industry and arms dealers. Old rich men sentencing young poor men to death to keep the profits flowing.”

and

“These surveillance state manipulators of public opinion are THEM. They are the personification of evil. They want nothing less than complete control over all levers of government, industry, finance and media.”

These two statements, tongue-tied together, rattled around, and translated into a single thought reads something like

“These old, rich, evil bastard vampire manipulators of perception [of the world entire] control the levers of life and death, of government, industry, finance, media; they ‘honor’ those who, willing and obedient to the point of bloodshed (their own and others), submit to become the extractors, while the rest are but the extracted. Either way, whether complicit or not so much, in the end, to THEM, all US are fodder.”

. . . maybe a bit over-simplified BUT illustrative of the only valid (ugly) solution that remains: in order to maintain control, the “godlets” have to eliminate a whole lot of “slaves”.

Oh, yes, this, this, this whatever it is is absolutely unsustainble, but I doubt that sustainability was ever the point. I consider instead that the point was to allow the serfs to dream/mine/build/produce/create/innovate/invent/program their own destruction while the godlets feed us poisoned air, water, food, inflate the fiat currencies to (ever more) worthlessness to rob us of our livelihoods, then tax what remains after we die so that our children never inherit financial independence, and never achieve it otherwise (for the most part), and, when time comes to reveal the brick wall at the back of the room (as it were), all who remain “loyal” to their system will be shackled into Chinese-style “ghost city” high-rises while the “elite” have the rest killed with robocops, robodrones, robosoldiers, and robotanks that we designed/built in exchange for the worthless paper that they printed into existence. No, their goal is to trade nothing for everything, and, given their way, they will have it . . . for worthless (post-1982) pennies on the (post-1971) “depegged” dollar.

THEM are devils. Their only “hope” for us is servitude. The utter FAILURE on so many levels (education, a prime example) cannot possibly be an accident

This debt comes from people or governments that gambled more money on the risk that they would gain all the money back they put at risk plus more. But it turns out that this money that was gambled was not well spent and will never be paid either.”

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5926213/

2.5 quadrillion/7 billion raises the debt per to . . . $357,142 and some change.

So, they have pocketed their trillions in profits, and will hang us with the losses. And we wonder why the government continues to pass draconian surveillance laws and why they push for disarmament. The godlets who own them want to be protected.

“In part 2 of this article I will tackle the themes of how our time on this earth can mean something if we choose to make a difference.”

This is your best article EVER. I know I’ve said that before. But, I really mean it this time …. probably because Dark Side of the Moon is certainly one of my top 3 albums of all time.

I am really really truly looking forward to part 2.

—1). I am sick and tired of everything in this sick and depraved culture. My attitude? Fuck this world, I wanna get off.

—2). As such, I no longer really give a damn about making a difference …. why bother? As if my lame old ass really could make a difference in the first place.

—3). As such, I am embracing and planning to be an ISOLATIONIST. I really do want a small cabin in the woods … a really isolated place …. where my interaction with this culture and humanity in general is kept to a bare minimum. GET OFF MY LAWN …. if you know what I mean.

Please convince me there is a better way. lol lol 🙂 God bless you, Jim.

Ms Freud update.

Today is a big day. They’ve been trying to wean Ms Freud off the respirator the past five days. Leaving for the hospital in a couple minutes. Hoping that today is the day they take her off the machine and put on a trach collar. That would be a huge step. Ms Freud is getting really sick and tired of all this shit …. yesterday she wouldn’t even let me give her a kiss on the lips. Not kidding.

You are in my thoughts and prayers, Stucky. And, the rest of them are prayin’ too.

I hated being attached to machines. I hated the beeps, whirs and groanings of doors and other creaking machines in the distance. I asked my Nick to not deposit me in a hospital again. He ignored me.

I am thankful for my almost complete recovery from last year. What an ordeal. Am proof miracles happen. Am praying Ms. Freud gets a miracle, too. She’s got a Nick, so the ingredients are there!

Air Force. Keflavik. It was a little orphan squadron of F-102 Delta Darts that my dad built in the ’50s in San Diego. Last active duty station for 102s. Bush the Jr. was flying them in the Tex Air Guard at the time. The agreement we had with Iceland required any B1rd stationed there to die, stay there. The Bone Yard was very interesting. The AWACs were Connies. There were more Marines than AF. There were about 5000 total troops there. About 150-170 AF.

Legible: n, capable of being read or deciphered, especially with ease, as writing or printing; easily readable.

Legible refers to quality/ability to read the handwriting or print, per the definition you posted. The printing was fine – it was the way it was presented that was the problem, rendering it unintelligible. You slightly misused the word.

For years ‘Civil War 2’ was free on the net, I posted it a number of times…now it has been taken down. Here is the link that worked for years:

https://archive.org/details/CivilWar2/page/n1

For those who haven’t read it …it was written in 1996 and has been about 80% accurate in its predictions.

The final prediction was Civil War 2 breaking out after the 2020 election.

Excellent article focused on the symptoms…but not the cause…since the critical factors are not mentioned – God and Bolsheviks (or neo-Bolsheviks today in the US and throughout the western world) which are related since the absence of one has facilitate the growth of the other. In fairness, these may be covered in Part II. The two quotes below from the great Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn who lived through the debts of depravity and extermination of ~60 million under Bolshevism in Russia, which has similarities with what is now taking place in the US and throughout the western world, are concerned with these factors. G.K. Chesterton and C.S. Lewis provide insight into how societies that have abandoned God collapse into ruin which is what we are seeing today.

“You must understand, the leading Bolsheviks who took over Russia were not Russians. They hated Russians. They hated Christians. Driven by ethnic hatred they tortured and slaughtered millions of Russians without a shred of human remorse. It cannot be overstated. Bolshevism committed the greatest human slaughter of all time. The fact that most of the world is ignorant and uncaring about this enormous crime is proof that the global media is in the hands of the perpetrators.”

“Over a half century ago, while I was still a child, I recall hearing a number of old people offer the following explanation for the great disasters that had befallen Russia: “Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.” Since then I have spent well-nigh 50 years working on the history of our revolution; in the process I have read hundreds of books, collected hundreds of personal testimonies, and have already contributed eight volumes of my own toward the effort of clearing away the rubble left by that upheaval. But if I were asked today to formulate as concisely as possible the main cause of the ruinous revolution that swallowed up some 60 million of our people, I could not put it more accurately than to repeat: “Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.”

― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

I remember reading “The Conservative Mind: From Burke to Eliot” by Russell Kirk. The title is a bit misleading because the mind that Russell Kirk was talking about was the British and more generally the European mind that spawned Christian Western Civilization and the nations built by the European people. As someone with a Scot/Saxon genetic heritage, I could identify closely with and relate to Kirk’s conservative mind. Since then, I have been thinking about the minds of other peoples on this planet. For example, the Japanese mind, the Chinese mind, the Black African mind and of course the Jewish mind. They are all different and molded over long periods through the randomness of genetic variations that respond to environmental and societal conditions. I would like to see a book on the Jewish mind because it is clearly very different from a western mind and has spawned which is to me an alien “religion” known as Talmudic Judaism.

Flea, OT but every time I hear this song I think of my father and now you and Mark. Jerry Cantrell wrote it for his father, a Nam Vet they called Rooster who apparently had 9 lives. Probably not your genre of music, but I included the lyrics for you as well. Saw AiC perform it this year on a tour with Korn.

Ain’t found a way to kill me yet
Eyes burn with stinging sweat
Seems every path leads me to nowhere, mmm
Wife and kids household pet
Army green was no safe bet
The bullets scream to me from somewhere, mmm

Here they come to snuff the rooster, oh yeah
Yeah here come the rooster, yeah
You know he ain’t gonna die
No, no, no oh, you know he ain’t gonna die

Here they come to snuff the rooster, oh yeah
Yeah here come the rooster, yeah
You know he ain’t gonna die, oh
No, no, no oh, you know he ain’t gonna die

Walkin’ tall machine gun men
They spit on me in my home land
Gloria sent me pictures of my boy, mmm
Got my pills ‘gainst mosquito death
My buddy’s breathing his dyin’ breath
Oh God please won’t you help me make it through

Here they come to snuff the rooster, oh yeah
Yeah here come the rooster, yeah
You know he ain’t gonna die
No, no, no oh, you know he ain’t gonna die

AoC, Flea,

I wrote this not long after I was home. I suspect any Grunt who’s company was ever fed into a major on going firefight in any war will relate.

INSTINCTS OVERPOWER REASON

The jungle air
pants on my face
like the breath of a tired dog
my body sags
under the burden of the Grunt
as we hump on and on and on
my courage and fears
start to fight for control
and I know I’m not brave
as suddenly we hear it!

Different rifles crack, stutter and spray
grenades thump and mortars pop then pound
machine guns spit in staccato bursts
choppers rip through the air
like an obscene orchestra tuning up
the sounds of insanity point the way
the sergeant a crouched maestro
his baton arm waving us on
as we grimly snake through the green tunnel trail
to the place
where men kill men

The jungle is kaleidoscope shades of a green sea
and for a fleeting moment
my courage is sucked under
as closer and louder
the sounds of combat and the cordite bite in the air
attacks my senses
with surging adrenaline and sickening fear
I take the M-60 off my shoulder
and cradle it in my arms
as the inevitable order is passed down the line
“GUNS UP!”

the three of us dart forward
instincts overpower reason
and the jungle air
pants on my face
like the breath of a fearful beast

My poem is a common experience AoC…nothing special about my Grunt time or me. Many of the men in my family were in combat in three wars, before me, all the men every single one (both sides) were in the service. Three of them with Purple Hearts.

I throw a poem out every now and then, I’ve been published a few times.

The lines:

“Walkin’ tall machine gun men
They spit on me in my home land”

Got to me, my MOS was 0331 (M-60 machine gun) and I almost killed a guy I grew up around who got in my face in a local bar in 70.

That song has true grit.

I can’t claim that I knew what I was experiencing at the time. I think but don’t know that’s why they call it Post Traumatic. I my case I was born that way. I focus on doing something to the exclusion of anything else. When it done, then I involuntarily review the film in my head and feel it. I don’t cry over the death of someone close to me until a year later and then it suddenly comes out.
My mom always said I had a one track mind and the only way you could change it was to cut my head off.
I hesitate to say it on an open forum but I welcomed being over run. I’m glad they miscalculated and had to pull back but there was a strange sadness. For the first time in my life I was truly alive in a way that I can’t explain and spent the remaining 10 months longing for a rerun. The down time was excruciatingly boring in between being shot at.

Eleanor Roosevelt supposedly read the stories about what our soldiers faced during the Island campaign and suggested that the men who survived the assault might need a separate place to live, away from civil society.

She couldn’t imagine anyone being able to live a normal life after having to kill as they had been forced to kill.

War is savage, or at least it was back when it was done in hand to hand combat.

Which reminds me… I poke fun at EC regarding the ongoing issues with Veterans Administration policy, but I am happy to say that I have seen a tremendous amount of improvement in treatment and in service to veterans. However, the amount of fraud and waste is probably increasing exponentially, as well, since policies generous to any segment of the populous tends to attract the malingerers.

What if part of your purpose in this life is to write your story in blog posts so that history is not repeated, or at least to provide futurity with a catalog of solutions?

My father still hasn’t forgiven the far-left of yesteryear for what they did and I think the far-left and SAOs of today trigger him in a PTSD sort of way, if’n you follow.

I told him, and he agrees, that the right philosophy of a good Christian is to oppose needless war, but to take good care of the vets given the reality that politicians aren’t good Christians. If the despicable military haters don’t wanna take care of the vets, then they should quit bellyaching and quit creating the injured vets in the first place! Instead, what do they do? RUN AWAY AND BELLYACHE!

AoC,

I had two 5,000 word short stories, one fiction, one my story, published in a 1980’s Newspaper magazine called ‘National Vietnam Veterans Review’, – ‘Boy Warriors and Bamboo Jungle’ and ‘Welcome Home Sucker’. NVVR was a popular Nam Vet publication in the 80’s (long gone) especially after the Wall went up, and my writing reached the audience that most mattered to me, thousands of Nam Vets.

The fiction story ‘Boy Warriors and Bamboo Jungle’ caused a stir with some Nam Vets because of its O. Henry surprise ending some didn’t like, but it was one of the points of the story, and even though it was fiction much of it was my story ain HS and in combat as well.

Also in the 80’s some of my poems were featured in a poetry anthology called: ‘The Long Ascending Cry, Poems by Vietnam Veterans’.

I have a 25 poem collection called ‘My Country is Blind and so is my Rage’. Many of them have been published separately, and I’ve shared the collection with many Nam Vets over the years.

I got a phone call out of the blue in 1984 from Jim Webb, who was Secretary of the Navy at the time. He is one of the most decorated Marines of the war and he called me to say he liked my stories. Turns out they were handed to him by a Nam Vet I had never met, just being passed around. That was gratifying as he wrote ‘Fields of Fire’ one of the top Nam Grunt novels about the war.

Then I reached a point where I said all I had to say…everything was vomited out and I was done writing about Nam. Then my business writing career (manuals) and business magazine writing career was started, and goes on to this day. So my Nam writing birthed a major component of my career and livelihood.

It was all 1970’s therapy, writing saved my life as I went into a serious tail spin in 75 when the South fell facing it was all for nothing. I was extremely pissed off at everyone but Nam Vets who went through the same bullshit. As I researched the war, and then the Fed, the JFK hit, etc. etc. etc. I found my country is still blind but my rage isn’t any longer as I know who the real enemy is.

I think this can be said by all Veterans of all wars, as God did not create us to do what we do to one another in war: “Not everyone who lost his life in Vietnam died there – Not everyone who came home from Vietnam ever left there”.

If you’re interested in any of my writings, ask Admin to send me your e-mail, your Dad will relate to it. Nothing special or uncommon about my Grunt experiences, but I have put them on cathartic paper.

Excellent, especially the detailed and accurate assessment that America is already socialist (fascist) system. One small error that you might find of interest. It’s a matter of perspective, and a mind shift. This will help to complete our understanding of what’s happened.

“…tax breaks for mega-corporations…”

Corporations don’t pay taxes, they collect them. They are unpaid agents of the State Internal Revenue Code. The cost of (sales, manufacturing, etc.) taxes is a pass through to the end buyer of the product or service, as is the associated cost of collecting the tax. And now we have, I pray, a more complete picture. This how you know that socialists claiming to want to raise taxes on corporations are simply taxing you more. That a corporation would lose money from the goodness it’s heart, it has no heart, it’s a corporation, is ridiculous. (And a corporation should want to make money, no money – no payroll.o As the Holy Bible, the lyrics, and you rightly state; it’s the love of money.)

OT, but to my point, same with FFLs. Unpaid agents of the State collecting personal firearms purchasing data. It’s a matter of perspective.

Thanks.

Certainly one of my favoritester albums! Ah, 1973, 55 mph, inflation, remembering when the credit card was a rare thing to carry, if you had one it was likely a store card or from an oil company. Back then they were called “charge plates”, before the newspeak “credit” came into vogue. A more accurate term would be DEBT card.

Us and them…Syria, Libya, Russia, Iran, Iraq et al are not our enemies, they are us. They are however the enemies of (((them))), who can rightfully be charged with creating most modern wars, as the demon Rothchilds wife boasted. The love of money being the root of all evil, is there any other group in history demonstrating a love of riches extending back through the centuries, and creating false and divers measures as well?

“Get a job stoner” made me laugh like hell.

Talk about missing the mark.

I’m trying to find a book MM (the other one) referenced to MC. This one is NOT it but take a peek at this political science crap and then realize that the CLINTONS bought into this “social science” on equal par with “hard science and mathematics.” Really.

Clinton supposedly said of the Ivy League team he put together that there had not been such intellectual power in the place since Thomas Jefferson dined alone. Which was catchy and probably not accurate. The Adams family put some smart men there, too. And Abigail was a fine quilter.

How’s that for Malarkey?

If Clinton said it he stole that line from JFK – either way what a putz and globalist tool he is.

Good find! Thanks, I will read this later (company).

The link is probably only useful for its literature review. Am hoping you will see something that triggers a name to look for.

Believe it or not, there is already academic research out on Marvel Comics Civil War 2.

Which makes 1996 seem absolutely obsolete.

Maggie.
Right. In fact it’s the only thing I came up with so far but they use civil war II instead of 2.

Oh, I remember he actually said “I’m stealing this from JFK, but I have to say I have the finest intellectual minds… blah blah blah…”

And intentional plagiarist.

I could tell you a story about a dude I met in Houston who claimed to have known him. Of course, that dude told me he was driving through California in the 1960s and had a one night stand with Debbie Reynolds.

Could be true. Both.

It could happen…I worked with a guy older than my Father for years in the 70’s, stand up, modest man, who told me about a cross country train ride he had during WW2 that turned into an unexpected tryst with a beautiful passenger…Marlene Dietrich’s daughter…Maria Riva.

I think it was one of the highlights of his life. By the look on his face when he told me the story…I knew it was true.

There was a gal on my crew from Mayfield, Kentucky. She used to go to honky-tonks from Paducah to Louisville and she claimed to have slept with Hank, Jr. and at least two of his band members. She was a cute little Southern gal who charmed the pants (sometimes literally) off everyone around her.

During late night post-flight girl talk (if she didn’t get lucky in the bar; I was married so was never lucky. Haha… so was she but different) she asked me bluntly one time how many men I’d had relations with. I’d never counted, but to make her happy (she was charming in an Ellie Mae gone bad sort of way) I counted up by naming them, then stumbled, saying… shit… I can’t remember that guy’s name.

She laughed and laughed. Then, with her blue eyes sparkling, she tossed her curls across her forehead and scalp, exposing her slender neckline against the ruffles of her very sensuous nightgown.

I shrugged, letting my old ratty T-shirt fall around my own shoulders, as if I had anyone else to name after the guy I couldn’t even remember.

She leaned toward me, confidently and confidantly, and whispered, “Honey, I gotta tell you something. I’ve screwed ten times as many guys as you have and most of them I never even KNEW their name.”

I am not sure if she is quite as proud of that now that she has several children, but I do believe she probably had her way with Hank, Jr. She was cute as all get out.

Bea Lever knows what I mean. Is hard to call some of these country gals like her a slut.

I hardly hear their songs played any more. I wonder if they will be playing their songs in 50 years…probably not. I was not impressed by their music, although their stories were cool.

I wish people who write these often excellent articles would please stop referencing pop groups. Rock and popstars are NOT rebels, no matter what fancy lyrics thy write. They are employes of the record and music industry, the most capitalistic industry on Earth.

Dark side of the moon are my favorite articles of all time. Can you believe that they were written before the C debacle? Who would’ve known then that the 4th turning would take a bloody turn THAT way?

It’s fun to read through threads from old posts and see comments from people who are no longer here, either because they passed on (Flea, EC) or moved on.
