The country that our founders envisioned ended in 1865 win the the war for STATES rights was won by the Federal government. Letting people vote that don’t own property and/or a business followed. Then the creation of the Federal Reserve and now we have the shit show that we live in. Lincoln and Wilson, worst presidents ever. Yes, I’m leaving out a lot, but the decline started a long, long, time ago.
It was fun while it lasted.

Several founders helped end the country that they envisioned. The men who signed the CONstitution in 1787 at Philadelphia, in secret, against explicit orders from their supposed constituents (their true constituents were the Eurobankster mafia and secret societies), thereby usurping the original Articles of Confederation were the worst criminals. Their criminality paved the way for all the followed.

Even before the supposed revolution, the people of Providence Plantations, later the colony of Rhode Island, were 90% not in favor of joining the new country to be called the united (lower-case “u”) States (states retaining sovereignty with full right of secession); they were threatened with armed invasion if they would not sign on. So, the much-vaunted “free” new country was always a lie.

Rumor is there are still live bombs in the area of the old Longhorn Army Ammunition Plant in Karnack , Texas. And Lady Bird’s childhood home still stands “down the road”.

Longhorn supposedly had all the energetics and propellants remove before it was turned over to the contractors for environmental remediation. It should never been allowed if that stuff was still present. That was 1993 when the discussions were held there in Texas. At that time many species of plants and animals were beginning to show up on the facility site and Glen Frey of the Eagles was keenly interested in the process and attended some of the meetings.

I am glad I grew up in a community that still has Deer Hunting Season.

That is the season when we not only shoot deer, but shoot any Southern Rednecks that show up to steal our crops. Funny thing is, no Southern Rednecks ever show up. Probably because there is snow on the ground and everyone knows Southern Rednecks can’t deal with snow. Mostly because they fall down immediately when they are not busy driving into the ditches.

Southerners don’t like to admit that the real reason they didn’t even try to fight back against Sherman in Georgia was because it was in pseudo-winter and the weather rumor mill said snow was going to fall in Chicago, making it impossible for all Southern Slave Owners to go out and fight to keep their institution of raping female slaves.

I lived at 3,600′ in Western NC from 1988-2020. You’re full of BS. We cleared our streets quickly in my burg of 1,500, and every household had at least one 4WD.

Whatever. Nice fantasy. Everyone knows North Carolina doesn’t really get winter. Half an inch of snow sends every local into full panic and the call goes out to Wisconsin to please send some spare snow plows. Which never come because people in the Midwest are not that stupid. They know that in less than 12 hours, the snow will be melted and the locals will still be occupying ditches.

Four wheel drive to deal with 1/2 an inch of snow and they still end up in the ditch.

Now if you want real snow, Calumet, Michigan. But don’t go there. You wouldn’t survive the trip. Upper Michigan gets pseudo-summer. Just warm enough for the trees to have leaves for two months before turning color and falling off in time for the start of winter in early October. In July you would freeze to death.

Exactly. It is amazing how many self-proclaimed libertarians are screaming about how the government needs to stop doing everything. Then in the next sentence they are demanding the government needs to do something about the railroads.

History says the government did do something. It was and still is regulating the railroads. In order to pay for compliance with all the nonsensical regulations and still stay in business, the railroads need to cut corners elsewhere. One of those places that is easy to justify is safety. Without the constant government regulations, East Palestine probably would not have happened because the railroads would have more profit to invest in better equipment, resulting in better safety.

Solution? Deport all socialists to Africa, China, and/or Antarctica. One way. No return. Once the socialists are gone, government regulations can be deleted, and safety can be allowed to improve.

If anyone thinks otherwise, there is an example of what happens when the government does everything. The I-35W bridge in Minneapolis. Built, maintained, and inspected by the big failure socialist government. Zero private sector involvement in the approval of the disaster. Funny how the socialists never want to talk about that except when trying to shift blame to those in the private sector who were not involved in the cause of the collapse.

I have such RR tracks near where I live and can attest to their terrible shape. The rails creek and groan as the train lumbers by. There’s a stretch of rail that parallels the road so one day I slowed down to get the train’s speed. Twelve miles per hour.

It reminds me of how disappointed the socialists will be when they finally take over and realize there’s nothing left to steal. All of the country’s wealth has been pissed away. At some point, we’re going to have to rebuild. After much suffering, bitching, and moaning smart people will realize there is one economic system that builds wealth quickly: The free market.

An actual “free” market is anarchy. That has never in history worked long term anywhere.
Markets need rules, true price discovery, and big bank failure is allowed.

No, the human brain has not evolved much past hunter/gatherer stage.
We are hardwired to seek dominance to survive and procreate.
Modern times makes that way less important and yet here we are still trying to dominate each other and failing to learn from our mistakes.
All this technology and information gathered over 10,000 years and humans still shit where they eat and kill each other for fun and profit and to dominate so we can procreate.
When I consider the potential of humans, how long we have been here and where we are now, I am convinced humans are the dumbest, most evil creatures on earth .
This behavior can be modified, but enough to make a difference in the world?

I compare beliefs to banners we can carry.
There are political banners, religious banners racial banners.
People have all manner of reason for their banners.
But few look at the burden of carrying them.
Divisions against family and neighbors are caused by many of these banners.

If one is brave and honest enough, he can carefully examine each banner for whether or not it was worth carrying this far or at all.

Putting down divisive banners just feels like fulfilling the words”my load is light”.

If railroads tracks where you live are maintained in that condition, it is most likely because of government regulations combined with a lack of freight worth moving by the railroad. Lack of freight means lack of profit which means safety can be sacrificed because there is nothing there worth maintaining.

Solution? Get rid of the big failure socialist government that regulated the freight out of existence, forcing the railroad to cut maintenance and sacrifice safety because there is no longer enough freight worthy of movement. Once the socialists have been relocated to Antarctica, things will start to improve.

That train in China is real. But you are not seeing the reality of it. Like Gruesome Newsom’s High Speed California Train, it goes from nowhere special to nowhere in particular on a test track that is only a few miles long. It serves no purpose other than for publicity when the fake news shows up once a year. It is a circus show.

Now if you want to see a real railroad, forget Europe and its tinker-toy size trains. Forget China where the still move almost 90% of their freight by truck. Forget Japan where a standard shipping container won’t fit on the railroad because it is too big. Go to Chicago, specifically the C&NW Clinton Sub, from Proviso Yard just east of Elmhurst, IL to Clinton, IA. Then stand back. Far back, and watch as freight trains fly down the tracks at speeds that make big failure socialist government Amcrash look slow. Or go south of Joliet, IL on the old Santa Fe to watch those freight trains fly. Then there is the old Q going out of Eola, IL west towards Burlington, IA for more flying freight trains.

And if you don’t want to travel or can’t go that far, there are always the railfan webcams at assorted locations around Illinois and Iowa. A good place to start would be the one at Rochelle, IL and another at Fort Madison, IA.

Labour is switching now to India and cheaper regions because when the standard of living goes up the natives will do less ‘menial’ work. Won’t work and their increasing wages cuts into the parasites profits. So these scum corporations will search out another slave port for workers. And your eye upon the rail

Oh, blessed Savior, thou wilt guide us
Til we reach that blissful shore
Where the angels wait to join us
In God’s grace forever more

That 1st video has been beaten to death as a fake. I can’t imagine that is real. I believe the tracks look that bad but, can a train really traverse those without derailing? Really?

Buy an AMTRACK ticket to N.O. La. from G’ville, SC. Yes it can be that bad and worse.

Ya’ll don’t see the forest for the trees.

Merika funded the massive transformation of China, it was no accident. Just as we fund the transformation of Viet Nam and other countries. All of that comes off the back of the American taxpayer/consumer. Big oil never wanted Merikans on the train, we were the car culture who drove themselves all over this vast expanse. Big oil is soon to be old school and high speed rail will be in our future.

You would be surprised at the third world countries that have high speed trains. Might I also point out we played the biggest part of building Japan into the modern country that it is today and they have a hellova train system. WE have sacrificed GREATLY to help build the modern world fellas and now we will be destroyed and rebuilt. I doubt I will live to see this place get a makeover with fancy high speed trains but I think I will see the destruction end of the formula.

US innovation and wealth were all transferred off shore. Preceded by the manufactured wars which were fed and sustained by the propaganda pysops of the citizens to motivate them to take the ‘freedom’ and ‘democracy’ to the unwashed barbarians and sand dwellers.

After the wars, rebuilding germany, poland, japan, taiwan, singapore, etc was all about shipping, selling tech and knowledge to places that were essentially slave sweat shops where final product was shipped back and sold at very lucrative markups by all that handled the product(s). Consumerism and loose credit was propagandized into the western dream became having a house four times your needs or that of your parents, multiple cars, eating out, entertainment, hedonism. Saving for tomorrow was marginalized, 401, rrsp’s – scams.

These vile satanic cultists play the long game. And the game is winding up to its crescendo ending. The fat lady is about to quit singing, which I’m looking forward to if truth be told. Perhaps more will awaken and take to naming lamp poles with the names of those responsible and those that facilitated this centuries old ruse.

There used to be a “dig” about those who rode Honda motorcycles. “Don’t scratch the paint too much, it reads ‘Budweiser’ underneath.

…” high speed rail will be in our future”…like the one in California? LOL!
Trains are derailing more often than Biden is on TV. Our financial system and electrical grid is on the verge of going down and this country has been technically BANKRUPT for decades.
Where is the money going to come from?
Oh, and kiss robots walking around amongst us and flying cars goodbye too.

China has also, apparently, had numerous structural and other functional failures of their signature projects the past 10 or 20 years … we don’t see many of those videos, do we?

I don’t know who downvoted you Anthony but you are correct that their ability to build roads, dams , high rise building etc. are not exactly top notch.

Due to abject corruption. And theres certainly none of that sort in murika is there? amirite

If memory serves, there have been a few catastrophes in murika that oddly enough get memory holed real fast, why is that? You know, like failing bridges, train derailments seem popular now.

Moos- No country is exempt from structural f’ups. China has managed to take top honors in bad projects around the world, NOT JUST in China. Their concrete work is dangerous.

Yup. Because of corruption. arguing apples or pears. Whether china actually takes top seat may be debatable, it certainly is propagandized more by western media. Why is that?

Tred- We can have another American century minding our own business and living just fine with what we have. Let us have some peace and stop being the strong arm for the mafia criminal cartels, F’em.

We’ve rebuilt enough of Europe and the far east, let somebody else have that job FFS.

I just have to drive down the street to see how this country is falling apart.Potholes that are never repaired ,houses that haven’t been painted in 20 years,Garbage that people don’t pick up off their lawns. Yet people order food from Uber eats ,weigh 500 lbs and say they need more money and freebies.Truly a sick society in decline.

I drove across the states twice in the
last few years.
The shittiest states and cities all
proudly sponsored by the big
blue D logo. Potholes and filth galore.

Most the highways and roads in
red states were amazing! Clean.
Smooth. Excellent.

Stayed out of the deep south,
east coast and west coast.

slightly less than 20 yrs ago, they were operating steam, On Infrastructure 1000 times better than ours………..

Steam is “Labor Intensive”……… but they had lots of it (labor and steam), so even in 2003 with 1940’s technology …….. they were still way ahead of us !!!!!!!

The maglev indeed seems like the future. But there was a discussion of installing a maglev train in, of all places, New Orleans back in the 1990s.

Also, remember the Concorde, the Betamax, etc. Just because a certain technology is superior in theory doesn’t mean it will be the most economical in practice. Thus why a maglev could only be constructed either by massive public subsidy or an insane private investor with $$ to burn.

Maybe we can get a refund on all the plastic Chinese junk in our landfills, then we can afford to fix a few miles of broken track.
