I read a really good essay about the difference between liberals and progressives. Here are examples of the principle:
RFK, jr is a liberal and I can imagine anyone could sit down at a table and discuss a wide range of topics with him without anyone being called a name. At the end of the night, you both go your own way with no ill feelings towards each other.
AOC is a progressive and I can imagine sitting down with her to have a discussion and within 1 minute she would be calling me a racist, homophobe, transphobe and misogynist and wanting me jailed for hate speech. Progressives do not want to hear an opposing view and will shout you down if you try to express anything but their version of the truth.
RFK, Jr is an old-style Democrat–one that can be reasonable. I tend to like the guy, but his anti-2nd Amendment views make him non-electable for me. AOC, as everyone knows, is a hating, moron, a useful idiot.
That is what I am saying. Liberals you can disagree with and still like. Progressives hate you unless you agree 100% with them.
