Back to the video: changed health insurance recently. Got a letter in the mail that I had a new PCP assigned to me, an Indian guy who went to Medical school in the Carribean. But, it says, not to worry because I can change my PCP at any time online.
Given that I have not been to a physician since I had a pediatrician (for myself, not our kids. Obstetric care exluded), I am not sure if I have to do anything to unroll from the PCP.

When I had Shibas it was just rabies, nothing else. Ever.
Heartworms are a real thing around here. Our Pyr’s semi-stray friend had to be put down for that, so I think the pill is every 3 or 6 months (wife keeps track). Monthly Simparica for ticks, because she still gets relapses of Ehrlichia (tick disease). I think we only did rabies when we got her, but we don’t plan to vaccinate her again.
It’s a wonderful breed, but different than any dog I have experienced.

Doctor’s comments ‘problematic [for] the LGBTQI+ community,’ Mayo Clinic said
A Mayo Clinic College of Medicine professor was recently suspended — and remains under the threat of termination — after he told a news outlet his stance on trans-athletes in women’s sports and plasma treatments for COVID-19.
Administrators suspended Professor Michael Joyner without pay for a week, citing his “use of idiomatic language” and comments he made in a June 2022 New York Times article as justification for the disciplinary actions, according to a March 5 disciplinary letter that recently came to light.
The memo also told him to refrain from speaking to the media unless given permission.
The college expressed that Dr. Joyner’s opinions “proved problematic in the media and the LGBTQI+ community at Mayo Clinic,” according to a letter Joyner received from the college, which was recently published by the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression.
In June 2022, Joyner told the Times that, when it comes to telling the difference between biological males and females, “you see the divergence immediately as the testosterone surges into the boys,” he said. “There are dramatic differences in performances.”
The “idiomatic language” the college could be referring to comes later in the New York Times article when Joyner stated “there are social aspects to sport, but physiology and biology underpin it… testosterone is the 800-pound gorilla.”
Maybe the doctor should remove himself from this bastion of psyience and qwakkery and get a position actually helping hurt and sick people.

I wrote an article on this last year, the gist being that hippocratic oaths have been going woke for the last several decades. It includes some research statistics that are rather alarming, such as 0% of schools surveys use the ‘original’ oath. The majority all write their own oaths, or change it every year, etc.

In my decade-plus in education, I witnessed students go completely unpunished for unthinkable acts.
The most egregious was a 250-pound student attacking and hospitalizing a 100-pound female staff member. There was no disciplinary action from the school – never mind law enforcement – and the only response was the school providing the student with a giant bouncy ball with a handle on it and permission to ride it freely around the classroom to keep him stimulated and lessen his likelihood to nearly murder more innocent people.
That’s not satire. They literally gave him a homicide-prevention therapeutic bouncy ball to ride in school.
Schools teem with unparented problem children and outright sociopaths who all have “IEPs” (Individualized Educational Plans) that grant them permission to reign terror free of consequence or intervention. Every well-adjusted child in American public school is a hostage to the whims of legitimately dangerous lunatics that would have been isolated in any era before the 21st Century (and that’s just their classmates – their teachers are a whole other issue). However bad you think things are in American schools – they’re worse than that.
So the fact that this story even made it out of the Massachusetts middle school where it happened is completely crazy.
But the fact that a 12-year-old has been criminally charged for drawing a rudimentary Hitler portrait is insane beyond my ability to convey in words.
