I always soak my fruits and vegetables in a baking soda bath then rinse them with water. It’s supposed to strip any leftover pesticides and other stuff off them. Probably won’t help in this case. Anyway, anytime I did grapes there was always a thin coating of brown sludge left in the bottom of the pan.
This video and all of the other discussions of this product have specifically stated that this chemical coating will NOT wash off … period.
I think it won’t wash off with water. Some of the organic compounds in this coating (ethyl acetate and heptane) are insoluble in water. You could probably wash it off with lighter fluid or gasoline, but then your fruit might taste funny
The coating is applied to make the product last longer on the shelves?
Simply do not eat the outer coating of these products, or only purchase products that have a natural outer skin? Bananas, avocados, oranges etc should not be harmful?

The lights warm the place too. If you heat with electric, may as well get double use out of the energy. Heat and food.
To be clear, 8×10 is not enough to feed a person, but it does reduce produce costs, I know how it was grown and that it was sprayed with nothing toxic.
They can be greenhoused, because they don’t need to get that big, but that is not cheap or easy.

I would like to point out that the technology to grow your own exists.
I live in Freezeyourassistan, and grow in a bedroom year round. No pesticides or additives.
In our 5 months of no frost threat, my 800sq.ft. GH produces WAY more than we can eat or can for our needs. No pesticides or additives. What the pests get, is extra anyway.
GROW YOUR OWN. Then, who gives a fuck what “they” do to food you don’t eat?
ETA, that which you can’t grow, don’t eat. Or accept that a little poison is probably not a big deal if you are otherwise eating healthy.
