Actually, AOC is right concerning RICO. RICO is not a crime in and of itself. RICO is just another (unconstitutional and unfair) add-on charge that the government loves to use to increase penalties, similar to the way penalties for crimes such as murder are enhanced by calling them ‘hate crimes’. The RICO Act makes it easier to prosecute, and increase penalties for, actual crimes such as murders committed by members of an organized crime group like the Mafia. (Although, like most laws, it has morphed far beyond its original intent. Nowadays it is used to prosecute diverse groups such a pro-lifers demonstrating at abortion clinics.) I don’t know if AOC is actually smart enough to understand that herself, or if her advisors/handlers anticipated that testimony and coached her on how to respond, but in either case, she is correct.
Yes, and she was, of course, coached. Plus, she is demonstrably not interested in equal application of law; only power for her team.
She’s better looking than, say, Nancy Pelosi but she’s hardly all that and a bag of chips. She certainly says some dumb things that brings her intellect into question. I figure she ranks about 499 out of 535. There’s been alot of real ignoramuses elected over the years so chances are good she was a legit candidate. Her constituents aren’t known for being particularly bright, either.
