Hahahaha.
I’ve never taken any antidepressants. Can someone tell me what it’s like to be on them? Is it like being high all day? High like on coke or like weed? Or something else entirely?
In case your question is not rhetoric – A long long time ago, I found myself unemployed for a brief period and had a series of setbacks. A physician decided that Prozac would help me focus on the immediate issue of finances and gainful employment and reduce emotional stress. Well, that experience made me never want to seek a physician’s intervention again. I can’t speak for other SSRIs, but taking Prozac for me did NOT make me feel high at all; there was no dopamine release, no euphoria, quite the opposite in fact. What is does is more scary – it makes you feel detached and indifferent. It makes you feel unemotive, dull, attentive but not necessarily driven or motivated, aware and lucid but not overly engaged – like being emotionally deficient or throttled down. Needless to say, I dumped that crap after a week or two and never went back.
Thanks for answering. I actuałły did take an antidepressant one time. I dont remember which drug it was but i remember wanting to bang every girl I came into contact with.
Glock,
Sounds like you’re talking about GHB. You got that from your buddy, not your pharmacist.
It was from a girl I dated for a bit. I forget what it was but, it was definitely a scrip.
Excellent description of these vile substances that are engineered to numb people to their own evil.
And its any wonder why they’re trying their hardest to push the use of Prozac, but failed.
I had low- to -mid-grade depression about 22 years ago … between an extraordinary woman making her exit and lack of work for many months on end … I went to a therapist. Her first and only solution was for me to go to her psychiatrist friend who would put me on antidepressants.
Well … that sounded stupid — so I found a great naturopath. She worked hard with me to find the sources of my depressed feelings — and then put me on a 3-day supply of homeopathic medication called carcinosin. It was an extremely low dose — i.e., it was very powerful — and there were about 18 tiny pellets in the envelope she gave me to spread out over the 3 days.
I followed her advice … and within about 7 or 8 days, I was honestly feeling fine … and, of course, no side effects and the actual medication cost less than $5.
There are alternatives to allopathic medications … not always, but enough to be prudent to pursue them as a starting point. I’ve been utilizing naturopathic and homeopathic and herbal medicines and treatments for about 50 years … because they’ve worked for me.
Good luck in your journey …
From what I’ve read the really fun part for starts when you try to get off Prozac, after taking it for 3+ months
Tried to commit suicide about 10 years back, the hospital forced me to start taking them.
It’s like living life though a tv screen. You can see what’s happening around you but you don’t feel anything and are completely detached. Don’t feel sad anymore but you also don’t feel any other emotion.
I went on Chantix to quit smoking a number of years ago. It kind of worked. You sure don’t care about smoking anymore. Problem is, you don’t really care about anything anymore.
Threw the rest of the ‘script in the trash and went back to a nicotine patch. After many stumbles, I finally got the monkey off my back.
Big Pharma….. The Pusher man. Gov’t approved, insurance covered bath salts. For more info please contact your local drug deal…. err I mean, local Family Doctor……
People like dope. So do animals. The moose that got drunk and stuck in the apple tree, the boxer dogs with their beers. Everyone who likes dope likes dope. My Labrador will knock over a beer for the opportunity to clean it up, my Shepherd turns his nose up with a grimace at beer or other alcohol. Dope is dope too, your antidepressant equals my methamphetamine in that both are dope (I don’t mess with meth… any more… or antidepressants come to think of it). Sooo, if you like the dope, do the dope and if not then not, but let’s not be lying about it.
Finland is the self reported happiest country in the world in the last 7 years, but it has the 9th highest rate of antidepressant use. Why?
It’s the self-reporting part. Not the most open and transparent people, apparently.
Q: What is the difference between an empty stomach and a Finnish person who wants to ask something from a stranger?
A: You can actually hear the empty stomach.
Q: How do you know a Finnish man is madly in love with his wife?
A: He almost tells her.
Q: How do you spot an extrovert Finn?
A: When talking to you, he stares at your feet instead of his own
Orangutan
HAHAHAHA
Yeah, you know Finns.
These were Finnish jokes I found that just happened to illustrate my point, i.e. their reputation is one of non-transparency so I doubt they are the happiest people on earth.
What do you call a really outgoing Finn? A Norwegian.
I’ve heard that last joke as a description of ‘How do you spot an extrovert engineer’?
The large majority of Americans on anti-depressants (horrible drugs that numb one’s sense of responsibility and self) are female.
People who do evil things to others usually know exactly what they are doing, but they rationalize their self-serving evil as ‘necessary’ and ‘ultimately good’. And nobody on the planet is more accomplished at rationalizing their own malevolent behavior than the American female.
Looking at what New Amerika has become, clearly there are enormous numbers of people, typically female, who are doing the wrong thing and must numb themselves to be able to live with themselves.
Feelings trump facts with them….and that’s their first mistake.
Female mental health workers are generally speaking dangerous for the above reason.
Only 11% of people in the US is on antidepressants?
Good one.
No, that is at any one time, not cumulative.
