Sharing War Stories While Playing Tag With Flashlights in the Dark

A few weeks ago, I ran into an acquaintance who I’ve known less than a year: a 60-year-old liberal woman who started out by saying:  “I don’t know where you stand politically, but I just can’t believe the stupidity of Trump voters”.

I replied: “What do you mean?”

She answered: “Well, Trump acts one way when he’s being interviewed… then he dumbs down his speeches at his rallies and his supporters just eat that sh*t up ’cause their f*cking idiots.”

Intrigued, I wanted to hear more:  “Well,” I said, “Trump is a reality TV star, right?”

To her, that was like catnip to a feline: “He has 200,000 deaths on his hands because he won’t accept science. He’s responsible for letting the pandemic get out of control. All he cares about is himself. That’s why Biden is the only hope we have to save this country.”

On Used Cars, Haircuts, and Buyers Beware

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

In the mid-nineteen-eighties, while contemplating two post-graduate opportunities, I needed to earn some fast cash so I thought I’d give selling cars a try.  Why not?  From a young age I had a love of cars, motorcycles, and airplanes.  And camping. In fact, I’ve traveled through 41 of 50 states, camped in a fair percentage of them, and once even worked at a motor-home dealer in the Pacific Northwest detailing rigs. After a few months, I worked my way up to sales and sold my first motorhome to some Seventh Day Adventists on my eighteenth birthday.

Oh man. I have so many stories. My coworkers were mechanics who were Hells Angels.  I stopped two of them one day from abusing a stray cat that I later adopted, even though I hated cats at the time. Although I earned the respect of those bikers, I’m sure things would have escalated if they didn’t have more respect for my older brother, an ex-jungle fighter who’s crazy like a fox and quicker than a Puff Adder.

But, I digress.

Video killed the radio star
Pictures came and broke your heart
Oh ah-ah-ah oh
And now we meet in an abandoned studio
We hear the playback and it seems so long ago
…. Video killed the radio star
Video killed the radio star
In my mind and in my car
We can’t rewind we’ve gone too far

The Buggles (1979)

War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.

Social Distance® is just. Flatten the Curve® is safety. Self-Quarantine® is fair.

Unonymous

Since the advent and spread of COVID-19, we’ve been presented with “new and improved” Orwellian terminology every week. Designations such as “flatten the curve“, “community spread”, “social distancing” and, even, “density mitigation” have become part of our collective vocabulary.  And just as new forms of thought control were introduced by the globalists via Political Correctness, so, too, have terms like “social distancing”, “sheltering in place”, and “self-quarantine” launched virtue signaling to entirely new levels.  It has been stunning to watch.
