Viral Video Shows Nightmare TSA Line Stretching “For Miles”

Tyler Durden's picture

After questioning whether a self-imposed process to make airline check-ins more rigorous, knowingly increasing wait times, was a Federally-funded scheme to force travelers to enroll in pre-check programs, thus manipulating people into cooperating with authoritarian strategies; it seemed rather appropriate that the following video, which went viral, shows what is simply a stunningly long TSA line wait at Midway Airport.

As WaPo reports, when Sean Hoffman arrived at Midway Airport last week for his flight home to Oregon, he said he was taken aback by the comically long line to get through security.

“I got to the end, (and) I was like, holy (expletive), people would probably like to see this,” Hoffman recalled in an interview.

And so he did…

You’ve Got Mail!

You are nothing but sheep to be fleeced by the government and their police thugs. Every state, locality, and municipality in this country is essentially bankrupt due to their unfunded pension and health benefit liabilities to the millions of government drones who make your life miserable on a daily basis. Their solution is to abscond with more of your hard earned cash. This story below should outrage you. The government drones think it’s a huge success.

You’ve heard about the automated car.Optotraffic lead

How about automated policing?

Instead of government drones (that would be cops) picking our pockets at gunpoint, the “work” (and profit) is being turned over to private contractors, who do the same at camera-point, using debt collectors to force us to stand and deliver.

This is not new – but it is becoming more blatant.

If you ever had any doubt that the issuance of speeding tickets was little more than another form of tax collection, consider what’s going on in Youngstown, Ohio.

The recently city signed a three-year deal with one of those Mussolini-minded companies that uses government to line its pockets and calls it free enterprise (another example of this being the insurance mafia). The company is going to make a lot of money by peppering the city with automated radar guns that eliminate the need for a cop to actually pull someone over – or for the courts to waste their valuable time proving beyond a reasonable doubt that each and every “speeder” is guilty as charged.

Instead, the tickets – the fines – go out automatically.

10 HIGHEST PAID GOVERNMENT DRONES IN PHILLY

Hat tip I95east

It seems Philly cops are well compensated for putting white chalk lines around the bodies that pile up day after day. They really like their overtime. Out of a total $620 million spent on cops, $65 million is for overtime. The city is bankrupt and they beg for more funds for their dreadful public schools, but they pay out $160 million in overtime to government drones. What a joke. Is there any government drone that truly deserves a $200k salary? These drones couldn’t earn $75,000 in the real world.

  1. Dominic Mangoni, Detective, $310,436.64
  2. Charles Ramsey, Police Commissioner, $263,795.94

ATTEMPTING TO SUSTAIN THE UNSUSTAINABLE

These stories always remind me of Wile E. Coyote. Virtually every municipality and State in this delusional empire of debt nation has promised their vast horde of government drones gold plated pensions. They have done so based on false assumptions, absence of a politicians’ backbone to stand up to government unions, total failure to understand the most simple mathematical concepts, and pure stupidity on the part of government bureaucrats, elected officials, and the ignorant masses who elect them. The majority of this country thinks you can get something for nothing. They think paying government drones pensions at 100% of their final salary for 30 years after they retire at 50 years old is sustainable and fair. Well it’s not sustainable.

States and municipalities have to balance their budgets annually. As these ridiculous pension amounts grow exponentially, the choices are to cut other spending or drastically increase taxes. How long will citizens put up with this crap? The government teachers suck. The second responders treat people like dirt. We add more firefighters as the number of fires hits an all-time low. We the people – the milking cows for the bloated government bureaucracy – have run dry. Gravity is about to take over. Government drones across the land are going to see how much a promise is really worth.

Phoenix, other Valley cities reel from pension spikes

Valley cities are experiencing sticker shock over a $28.6 million spike in police and fire pension bills for next fiscal year.

Seven cities will fork over more money, with Mesa taking the biggest hit, an $8.7 million increase, and Phoenix coming in second, at $6 million.

Tempe and Glendale will experience the next-highest spikes of $4.2 million and $3.3 million, respectively, followed by Chandler at $2.7 million, Scottsdale at $2.6 million and Gilbert at $1.1 million.

Cities have seen their pension costs rise steadily in recent years, but next year they will experience the additional bump mostly due to the Arizona Supreme Court’s decision to strike down part of a 2011 state law crafted to rein in pension costs.

As part of the February 2014 ruling, the court ruled the state’s Public Safety Personnel Retirement System must repay retirees $40 million for previous cost-of-living increases and set aside $335 million in a reserve fund for future increases.

The decision means most Arizona cities will see their pension bills skyrocket next fiscal year.

And as pension bills climb, cities must scramble to fill the gaps with limited budget dollars, which could translate into less funding for parks, roads and other city services.

“We’re feeling this pressure of some of these costs that we just can’t control,” said Mesa City Manager Chris Brady. “We have to absorb over $8 million in public-safety pension costs. That’s a huge number. Every police officer, every (firefighter) we hire has just got that much more expensive. So it’s putting a big strain there. So we’re having to ask for departments to come up with some efficiency savings to be able to help us make up for those kinds of differences.”

Pension cost spike

Seven Valley cities will fork over an extra $28.6 million next fiscal year for police and fire pensions, largely because of an Arizona Supreme Court decision to strike down part of a 2011 state law crafted to rein in pension costs. Here’s how much extra each city will pay:

  • Mesa: $8.7 million
  • Phoenix: $6 million
  • Tempe: $4.2 million
  • Glendale: $3.3 million
  • Chandler: $2.7 million
  • Scottsdale:$2.6 million
  • Gilbert: $1.1 million

OBAMA USING EXECUTIVE ORDER TO GIVE A 39% RAISE TO GOVERNMENT DRONES

According to the Washington Post, our Savior/President/Dictator will ignore Congress and give a 39% raise to government drones. He unilaterally wages war across the globe with his drone army. He unilaterally collects electronic data on every American. He unilaterally enforces or ignores the Obamacare law which Congress passed and he signed. He uses Executive Orders to bypass the other branches of government and disregards the will of the people. As he continues to unilaterally run this country, we inch ever closer to full dictatorship. We are one major crisis away from this sociopath declaring himself ruler for life.

Obama now decides the salaries of government drones based on nothing. His reasoning is beyond question. The wage should be $10.10. Not $9.50. Not $10.20. Obama knows the right salary for every American. Especially when it’s your tax dollars used to pay whatever he chooses.

“Hardworking Americans — including janitors and construction workers — working on new federal contracts will benefit from the Executive Order (EO),” the White House said in a statement. “Some examples of the hardworking people who would benefit from an EO include military base workers who wash dishes, serve food and do laundry.”

Fifteen senators wrote to Obama in the fall, saying that “profitable corporations that receive lucrative contracts from the federal government should pay all of their workers a decent wage.”

We all know that politicians know exactly what a decent wage is. Just like they know what a decent education is. Just like they know which Arab country to invade.

Obama will blather for over an hour tonight about his vision of America during his State of Disunion address. The morons in Congress will act like trained chimps, applauding, giving standing ovations, and generally confirming the fact they are nothing more than corrupt idiots representing special interests. I will not watch one second of this kabuki theater. I’d learn more watching Honey Boo Boo or Duck Dynasty.

This will be the 6th time Obama has promised the economy will be getting better next year. It seems next year never comes, as we spiral downwards at an accelerating rate.

DYING FOR SOCIAL SECURITY

The Federal government certainly is a well oiled machine. Do they ever do anything right? They can’t figure out they have been paying a dead person for 23 years? All you Boomers should be happy. You’re going to get your Social Security payments even after you die. So stop bitching.

And now we are handing over our healthcare to these government drones. What could possibly go wrong?

NOTHING TO CUT: Meet the Multi-Millionaire Who Collected His Dead Mom’s Social Security Checks for 23 Years

Guest post by Laura Trueman

http://directorblue.blogspot.com/
The 2014 omnibus bill contains an increase in funding for running the Social Security Administration (SSA). Maybe now they can stop paying Social Security benefits to dead people.

According to a December Government Accountability Office (GAO) report, SSA systems do not accurately note and confirm the deaths of beneficiaries, resulting in payments being made to dead people—sometimes for decades. The flawed system doesn’t just impact Social Security payments, either. Multiple other federal agencies that pay benefits—from federal pensions to payments to farmers and the disabled—rely on SSA’s flawed death data.Collecting Dead Mother’s Social Security for 23 Years. Raymond O’Dell made news this week when he was sentenced for collecting his dead mother’s Social Security benefits for 23 years. O’Dell collected $188,000 in benefits, while building a successful Taco Bell franchise. His accountant put his net worth at $4 million (including $431,000 in cash). This week, he was sentenced to pay back the benefits, along with a $20,000 fine, and will serve six months in prison.

O’Dell is not unique. In Washington state, U.S. Attorney Jenny Durkan convicted five people for collecting a dead parent’s Social Security benefits. One man personally disposed of his mother’s body in a rural area and never reported her death; he collected her benefits for 9 years. More examples are cited in the SSA’s “Deceased Payee Fraud; Strange But True,” released this month.

As Durkan noted, “Cheaters shred the safety net for those that really need it…and need to know prison and hefty fines wait at the end of the scheme.” The SSA has the Office of Inspector General Fraud Hotline for reporting suspected fraud. That’s good, but it isn’t enough.

Getting a Handle on the Problem. The SSA receives and processes death reports from a variety of sources, including states, family members, funeral directors, post offices, financial institutions, and other federal agencies. It’s a big job: In 2012, seven million deaths were reported to the SSA; overall, they manage the death records for some 98 million people.

The GAO reports that the agency does not verify the death reports from all of its sources. The SSA has no clue how accurate the unverified reports are because, according to the GAO, the agency has “never performed an analysis validating the accuracy of the various sources of death reports.”

The GAO checked on a random sample of the SSA’s death reports and found problems:

  • Notice of about 500 deaths came to the SSA long after the person’s death; in fact 200 were 10 or more years after the fact, meaning that all kinds of benefits could have been flowing unchecked for years.
  • Another 150 people were apparently engaged in “back to the future” time travel—their date of death was BEFORE their date of birth.
  • Almost 2000 broke or nearly broke Guinness records—living between 115 and 195 years.

The GAO made some recommendations on how to improve the SSA systems, and maybe things will improve. It should be noted that, while the GAO focused on the SSA’s struggles with the death reports it received, Raymond O’Dell and a slew of others kept their relative’s death from being reported.

In the omnibus appropriations Congress passed this week, they offered their usual solution—more money—increasing the agency’s budget by $651 million. Oklahoma’s Senator Tom Coburn (R) and a few others are pushing the SSA to fix this and other fraud in benefit programs. As The Wall Street Journal notes, these members “are voices crying in the wilderness” as Congress focuses on spending more money, not making existing agencies and programs work better.

GOVERNMENT DRONE FACTOR = 15 MINUTES

Today is election day. The only people who don’t have to work on election day are government drones. The weather today is identical to the weather yesterday in Philly. My commute this morning to work was 15 minutes faster than yesterday. Since there were no government drones on the road today, I’ve concluded that my one way commute GOVERNMENT DRONE FACTOR = 15 MINUTES. So, besides the thousands of dollars per year I pay in taxes to support these overpaid underworked government drones, they also cost me 30 minutes per day of my life by clogging up the highways. As cities, states and the Feds run out of our money, government drones will be purged from the workforce. I can’t wait for my GOVERNMENT DRONE FACTOR to decline to 5 minutes.

JOGGER TERRORISTS

Can the government drones show any more contempt for the American people? Valley Forge Park is a beautiful, expansive 3,500 acre national park in Montgomery County, PA. It consists of grass, walking trails, some log cabins and a bunch of monuments. My family loves to walk the trails. It is a completely passive park. You never see a park ranger. There is no need for government drones to keep you safe as you walk or bike. Closing this park due to the government shutdown is just being spiteful. People can walk or jog without government oversight. I find it fascinating that you NEVER see a park ranger when it is open, but when they close it to purposely annoy the people, there are plenty of rangers to hand out fines to the jogger terrorists who dare to disobey their government masters. Twenty terrorists have been fined thus far by the supposedly furloughed government drones.

I hope the citizens realize the vindictive nature of Obama and his minions in their choice of who to inconvenience. This entire faux shutdown is designed to piss off the public. What it is revealing is that there are hundreds of thousands of non-essential overpaid government drones who have zero impact on our lives. It is revealing the malevolent nature of these drones, as they bar veterans and joggers from enjoying passive monuments and nature.

I’ve got an idea to save a few bucks. Withdraw the troops from Afghanistan, Iraq, Germany and Japan. Sell a few cruise missiles on Ebay. Maybe Obama can cancel one of his multi-million dollar vacations. Only allow truly disabled people on SSDI. Stop the billions of Medicare and SNAP fraud.

Or maybe we can just quadruple the fines for jogging in parks.

PENNSYLVANIA – KING OF UNFUNDED GOVERNMENT DRONE PENSION PLANS

The Wall Street shysters and their mouthpieces on CNBC have gleefully ripped Meredith Whitney and her prediction of thousands on municipal bankruptcies. Her timing was early. She didn’t realize that Bernanke would bow down to his masters and produce a 100% stock market gain by pumping $2.5 trillion of free money into the veins of the Wall Street addicts. His actions have solved nothing. Municipalities across the land have unfunded pension and health benefits in excess of $4.5 trillion. And this calculation is based upon annual investment gains of 8%. That’s hysterical when long term bonds yield 2.5% to 3.5% and stocks are priced to deliver 3% over the next ten years. Using a true investment rate of 3% to 4% reveals a true unfunded liability in excess of $6 trillion.

It seems Pennsylvania is ground zero for unfunded pensions and my Township is one of the worst examples of governmental incompetence in the state. How could one state account for 25% of ALL the public pension plans in the entire country? I guess we’ve cornered the market on dumbass public officials, greedy government union drones, and a delusional populace that can’t understand basic math. The Governor and the legislature know that government pension obligations are a looming fiscal disaster. What actions did they take when they passed the 2014 budget last week? NOTHING!!! There are elections coming up in November. You can’t get re-elected by telling voters the truth or getting government union employees mad. This is why we’re doomed. No politician has courage. Greedy government drones will never willingly give up what was promised them by slimy politicians. The average voter thinks money grows on trees. When the next financial crisis hits and wipes 30% to 40% out of these pension plans, accounting fraud and underfunding of these pensions will come home to roost. Meredith’s predictions will come true as municipalities declare bankruptcy and government workers end up with 20% of what they were promised.

My township of Towamencin is singled out in this article as an example of a municipality that has screwed its 17,600 residents by promising its police, firemen and other government workers more than they can ever deliver, without jacking up taxes significantly on the citizens. I pulled up the details of the Towamencin pension plan and annual budget at these links:

http://www.auditorgen.state.pa.us/Reports/Pension/munTowamencinTwpPPP071012.pdf

http://www.towamencin.org/documents/finance/2013_Proposed%20Budget.pdf

According to these reports the Towamencin pension plan is only 61% funded. A township with a $16 million annual budget owes $9.5 million to its workers. It’s assets have an actuarial value of $5.8 million. Of course, all of these figures are complete bullshit because they are based on an 8% annual return on the invested assets. Using the 3% they will actually achieve, the plan is underfunded by $5 to $6 million. That is $800 per household in the township. What is it with politicians and promising public employees gold plated benefits that far exceed what people in the real world receive? In the early 2000’s the annual pension payments for Towamencin were in the $100k per year range. Then Tom “code red” Ridge and the idiots in Harrisburg passed the “No Government Drone Left Behind” law and set in motion a future fiscal disaster of epic proportions.

The population of Towamencin has not budged since 2000. The annual pension payment has gone from less than $100k per year to over $900k per year. It now accounts for 6% of the annual budget and 11.5% of the general fund budget. It is on automatic pilot and will exceed $1.2 million in three years. This is before the inevitable stock market implosion. After the 30% to 40% losses, the annual required contribution will ramp up to $1.5 million as their tax revenues contract. The politicians that run this township have a history of delusional fantasies. They borrowed millions and used eminent domain to build a $500,000 bridge to nowhere. They wiped out five baseball fields and a quaint antique mall with the delusion of a retail paradise. The bridge is beautiful. It leads from one massive vacant weed infested parcel to another vacant parcel. They did build a massive brand new municipal building for the government drones. They poured millions into a pool that losses patrons every year and operates at a loss. These brilliant financial moves have led to annual debt service of $1.7 million, or 11% of their budget. By 2015 the pension and debt service costs will account for over 20% of the annual budget.

Math is hard. Politicians are toadies. Government union employees are greedy. The taxpayers are on the hook for the promises made by toadies to greedy government drones. Reality will smack all of these delusional morons. The obligations cannot be honored because it’s mathematically impossible. Taxes would need to double in order to honor the unfunded liabilities. If the government drones don’t accept large cuts in their pension and health benefits, municipalities will go bankrupt and the drones will be screwed even worse. The parable of the scorpion and the frog will play out because unions NEVER accept reductions in their benefits. It’s their nature.
