LA Imposes Toughest Lockdown Yet To Avoid “Devastating Tipping Point” As COVID Hospitalizations Soar

What a fucking joke these totalitarian asshole politicians are. They are shutting down a city of 10 million people because 40 really really old people died yesterday with Covid. For some perspective, 85,000 people per year die in LA. That means 233 people per day will die from something in LA. That’s a fact. So 17% of them are dying with Covid. I bet the deaths from the flu are down 75%, because Covid is the flu. WTF. We’ve turned into a country of pussies.

Echoing the situation back in March when California was the first state to issue a ‘stay at home’ order, the Mayor of Los Angeles late last night ordered Angelenos to stay home, warning that the city is approaching a “devastating tipping point” as the US and the state of California see unprecedented numbers of new cases, deaths and hospitalizations.

Last night the state of California reported more than 20k new COVID infections, the highest daily tally of any state. LA County has been particularly hard hit.

The Quake To Make Los Angeles A Radioactive Dead Zone

Authored by Harvey Wasserman via CommonDreams.org

Had the previous Friday’s 7.1 earthquake and other ongoing seismic shocks hit less than 200 miles northwest of Ridgecrest/China Lake, ten million people in Los Angeles would now be under an apocalyptic cloud, their lives and those of the state and nation in radioactive ruin.

The likely human death toll would be in the millions. The likely property loss would be in the trillions. The forever damage to our species’ food supply, ecological support systems, and longterm economy would be very far beyond any meaningful calculation. The threat to the ability of the human race to survive on this planet would be extremely significant. The two cracked, embrittled, under-maintained, unregulated, uninsured, and un-inspected atomic reactors at Diablo Canyon, near San Luis Obispo, would be a seething radioactive ruin.

Cher: Los Angeles ‘Can’t Take Care of Its Own, How Can It Take Care of’ More Immigrants

Via Breitbart

Pop icon Cher said Sunday that Los Angeles, California, “can’t take care of its own” residents, much less newly arrived illegal and legal immigrants.

Cher said she failed to understand how the city of Los Angeles in the sanctuary state of California could afford to admit and take care of any more immigrants when city officials have failed to care for homeless, veterans, and poverty-stricken Americans.

Welcome to Skid Row 2017

Where’s George Clooney and the rest of the Hollywood elite who ponied up millions for the Crooked Hillary campaign? Wasn’t Hillary the candidate of the downtrodden? Why isn’t the Clinton Foundation helping these people? This travesty is just a few miles from the Hollywood elitists’ multi-million dollar gated estates. The hypocrisy of the left wing elite is breathtaking to behold.

Welcome to Skid Row 2017: Shocking scale of homelessness in downtown LA is exposed in footage showing sidewalks lined with dozens of tents in deprived area where 20,000 people live on the streets

  • Three-minute LiveLeak clip shows the brutal reality of Christmas Day in the underbelly of Downtown LA
  • Shot on 5th Street, 6th Steet and San Pedro in the Skid Row district, it captures life in one of the city’s most notorious homeless hotspots
  • Rubbish bags litter the streets and tents have been erected to shelter residents – including women and children
  • Rising cost of living in California is also forcing middle class residents to live in their cars in affluent areas

Rubbish bags piled up by the pavements and littered across streets.

Tents erected in clusters where people have camped down for the night.

Dozens of directionless residents congregating by the roadside and wandering into the road.

This is what Christmas Day looked like for thousands of homeless people in the dark and dingy underbelly of Downtown Los Angeles this year.

LA Confidential

Guest Post by The Zman

A popular topic of conversation on the Dissident Right is the imagined future the Cloud People have planned for us. The word “Brazilification” gets thrown around a lot. Going by mass media, the future will be populated by hairless, caramel colored mulattoes and Asians. That’s unlikely, but the majority-minority future is inevitable. That means America will be a very different place in another generation. Just look how fast Los Angeles went from being surf city to a sprawling version of Tijuana.

Los Angeles Changes ‘Columbus Day’ To ‘Indigenous Peoples Day’

Tyler Durden's picture

Trump was obliterated by the mainstream media a few weeks back when he spoke out against decisions to dismantle confederate statues all around the country.  While he was branded a racist for his comments, his point was that the logical conclusion of the Left’s crusade was the complete destruction of over 500 years worth of history since the Europeans first arrived in the ‘New World’.

As it turns, it looks increasingly like Trump was absolutely right.  As just the latest example of the wave of insanity sweeping the nation, the Los Angeles Times points out today that the city of Los Angeles has officially decided to scrap Columbus Day and instead replace it with “Indigenous People Day”… you know, because it’s just about time that everyone stop celebrating the “state-sponsored celebration of genocide of indigenous peoples.”

The Skins Game

Guest Post by The Zman

There’s a popular quote from Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises, where one character asks another character how he went bankrupt. The response is “Gradually and then suddenly.” It’s funny because it is true. The great upheavals in human affairs seldom happen without warning. They are always part of a long process that was plain to see, but people preferred not to notice it so it rolled along until a crash or revolution.

A generation or two from now, people will look back at America and wonder how racial conflict broke out after what many thought were years of social progress. After all, the good whites had atoned for all the bad things done by bad whites. In reality, those years of “progress” were just accumulating bad habits and bad decisions, disguising an underlying rot. American society is headed for a bad place and you can see it here in this story.

Outrage has grown at Walter Reed Middle School in North Hollywood, as the school faces layoffs and increased class sizes due to a law limiting funds for schools with a higher white student body.

The Los Angeles Unified School District provides more funding for schools where the white population is below 30 percent.

In a letter to parents, the district noted the highly regarded middle school had been above the percentage for the past couple years.

The racial formula was a condition imposed by court decisions dealing with desegregation in the 1970s.

Los Angeles County’s Education Catch – 22

Guest Post by Kevin Lynn

I read with little to no amusement an article in Monday’s Los Angeles Times entitled, “L.A. Is The Bad Jobs Capital of The US.”   Wow! So knock me over with a feather! Truth be told, a blind man could have seen that one coming; Or, at least a blind man living in Los Angeles County.

The article cited a recent report from the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation, stating that only 21% of Angelenos over the age of 25 have a high school diploma and nothing more. This is compared to 11% for the country as a whole. The article then went on to mention a silver lining, and that is, 64% of entry-level jobs in Los Angeles County don’t require anything more than a high school degree.

MEANWHILE….IN LOS ANGELES

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A parking lot brawl between two women in South Los Angeles quickly escalated into a demolition derby.

Dramatic video captured fists flying in an apparent argument over a parking space near the 8400 block of South Western Avenue on Sunday.

A number of women were seen fighting when one woman jumped into a white SUV.

The driver revved the engine and the video showed her smashing into a silver SUV, nearly taking off the passenger door.

The vehicles collide several more times as they maneuver back and forth in the small parking lot.

A CRISIS IN AMERICAN HOUSING

Guest Post by Dr. Housing Bubble

Americans are realizing something is wrong with the system.  You can see it this year with the rise of outsiders in both political parties.  People realize the system is rigged.  Instead of some folks that kowtow and simply move forward like subservient lemmings, millions are mobilizing and taking action.  Many are voting with their wallets.  The number of renter households has increased by 10 million over the last decade while net homeowners has been stagnant.  The bailouts were supposed to help American families but what happened is that many were kicked out of their homes (for missing payments) and then giving them to banks that also missed much larger payments (too big to fail).  People got a quick education on how things work.  This is why the homeownership rate fell dramatically yet somehow, homes sold to investors and now rents are at all-time highs while incomes are stuck in neutral.  This is a major problem and people are taking notice.

A crisis in American housing

Zillow has some really good research on the topic.  You would think that rising home prices and rising rents would be a sign of more families buying.  Yet it is more of a sign of continued manipulation in the market.  It is also a sign of outside money, either from big investors, Wall Street, or foreign money pushing up values and crowding out regular families from buying.  The Fed has set the stage.  By creating a low interest rate environment, big pools of money are hungry for yield in nearly any sector.

First take a look at home prices:

The trend is clear and at least in the short-term, prices seem to nearing a plateau.  It is certainly being reflected in rents:
