The Anecdotes of an American Nobody at the End of Things

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

No man has been shattered by the blows of Fortune unless he was first deceived by her favours. Those who loved her gifts as if they were their own forever, who wanted to be admired on account of them, are laid low and grieve when the false and transient pleasures desert their vain and childish minds, ignorant of every stable pleasure. But the man who is not puffed up in good times does not collapse either when they change. His fortitude is already tested and he maintains a mind unconquered in the face of either condition: for in the midst of prosperity he has tried his own strength against adversity.

– Seneca

You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.

– Revelation 3:17

There is no denying the Creature from Jekyll Island is a snake eating its own tail. Unfortunately, the tail is the entire world and it was devoured slow and sure:  banking, Wall Street, sovereign governments, international corporations, and, now, Main Street and entire populations around the globe.

It’s been a year and a few days since The Great Reset officially began on November 3, 2020. That was when a handful of Democrat Party controlled precincts, in Democrat Party controlled cities, in key electoral swing states, all stopped counting votes in the middle of the night.  Forgetting that Trump received more votes than any other president in history and Sleepy Joe was said to have received even more votes with the winning margins secured in those Democrat-controlled precincts – the unbelievable irony is now this: Those who believe Biden is a legitimate president consider those who disagree with that consensus as believers of “The Big Lie”.

The Awakening

Guest Post by The Zman

When Finnish nationalists get together every year to socialize and organize, they call their event The Awakening. It is a great term for them to use as it has multiple meanings in this context. One is the obvious awakening among Finns of their long dormant nation pride and identity. The other is the growing awareness of what globalism and multiculturalism means to them as a people. It can also mean the growing awareness of liberal democracy and what it is doing to the people.

Post-Modern Awakening

Guest Post by The Zman

Religious awakenings or re-awakenings are common in human civilizations, particularly in the West. They manifest themselves in different ways, but the root is always a sense that society has lost its way and strayed from the moral path. When enough people come to this conclusion, a cascade preference begins and a mass movement forms to start the return to that moral path. It may be a restoration of the old faith or it can be the rise of a reform movement. Of course, it can also be the start of a new religion entirely.

Social cycle theory holds that a return to the old faith, maybe tuned for the age, is part of the end phase of society. The beliefs that were part of the young culture, but faded away in the middle age of the people, makes a comeback of sorts in the winter of the culture. It’s not nostalgia driving the revival, but a sense that the thing that inspired the best years of the people has been lost. The religious revival we have seen in the Islamic world is a good example. They are trying to recapture a lost golden age.

‘BIRD BOX’: Christianity, The Great Awakening 2.0, Transhumanism, and the Neo-Feudal Order

NOTE TO READERS (from Doug / Uncola):  This piece was NOT written by me, but is a response to my earlier “Bird Box” article.  The following essay was e-mailed to me by Plato Publius, a regular commenter here on The Burning Platform.  Other than cursory proof-reading adjustments for punctuation and formatting Plato’s selected headings, photos, and links, this article is posted on behalf of Plato Publius and at his request:

I find it intriguing that my observations of “Bird Box” mirrored Uncola’s, particularly his description here:

In spite of its viral buzz during the final days of the year, as we watched ‘Bird Box’, we were mostly underwhelmed, except for the ‘B-movie’ satisfaction of our ‘Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K)’commentary as the scenes unfurled.

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!
FAITH, LOVE, HOPE

Uncola’s analysis of the “faith” and “courage” aspects of the film were amazing and VERY true, but didn’t go far enough.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
