We took a trip to New York City and saw the show live in spring 2001. We really lucked out because the guest was the great George Carlin, along with an Australian band called Powderfinger. We waited a couple hours outside in cold before they let us into the theatre lobby. We were so happy to be inside and warm, we were all smiles. The lobby staff put orange stickers on our tickets and we later found out we were invited to sit in one of the front 2 rows of the theatre. We ended up sitting in the front row, directly in front of Dave’s desk. Good times!

Later that same trip, we pondered taking the subway down to see the World Trade Center, but decided against it, thinking we’d see it the next time we were in NYC. We should have made that subway trip because we didn’t return to NYC until several years later.

David has been with me throughout nearly all my adult life. I haven’t always been a regular viewer, but have always kept tabs and checked in occasionally.

Great memories of early (very poor) married life and a good friend that had a good job and was single (so had money in his pocket). He would sometimes stop by ex’s and my house and bring a six pack when he got out of work at 12:00.

Lots of great times and laughs sitting and shooting the breeze while watching Dave with a cold one in our hands.

My childhood is dying. This is but one more piece of it.
