I have seen many of your posts in the past, and I understand that you grasp the central tenants of capitalism. I cannot tell you the number of hours I have spent trying to explain to employees that the SOLE purpose of any enterprise is to return capital to the investors . Providing jobs is a positive offshoot of successful enterprise . Capitalism 101!

Prisoner – people want business to be protector and guardian. That is not its purpose. It is just as you say.

Clammy – I challenge you to point out one point I made that shows I am happy about your plight. I have stated quite the opposite several times.

Your situation is your own fault. You have reaped what you have sown.

Many are giving good advice. Coyote is the latest. It all starts with recognizing what is real – you fucked up. Learn from it and move on.

But you have shown no willingness ever to accept any responsibility with what happens to you. Quite the contrary.

I speak from experience. I was born into disadvantage. I refused to accept that what befalls me is someone else’s fault. It is an attitude that has paid dividends in all parts of my life.

Do yourself a favor. When bad things happen to you, assume you could have prevented them by having acted differently, figure out what a better course would have been, and do not repeat the mistake.

It will change your life. Up to you.

A Confederacy of Dunces, my how I’ve loved that book. The universe must be telling me to read it again,this is the second thing in a week to point me that way.

Spending the past few weeks dealing with dad and his health has me walking around scratching my head in awe of stupidity.

ALL the people taking care, and surrounding, him, are government regulated, licensed, and mainly degreed. The amount of idiocy produced by the TRAINED AND EDUCATED very nearly reaches the end of my knowledge of coping mechanisms to deal with it.

As for ‘Bammy, we, the fools, voted for the ultimate fool. The one that promises whatever needed and delivers tyranny and destruction with the consent of the majority.

Meanwhile, it seems, our youth is actively destroying what little opportunities they have. Stephanie, you aren’t the only one, I have nieces and nephews that are in the same boat.

I realize you are coming from a place of hurt, disappointment, embarrassment and fear. I once was fired too, I remember that even though I hated the job, it hurt.

But really, I’m facing the death of my father, I’ve buried my mother, a boyfriend, beloved childhood friends, all my grandparents and many others that I have loved. And no matter how much I hate someone for screwing me over IN REAL LIFE, I have NEVER wished death upon them.

I had some respect for your pluck girl. Now I realize it is only bluster to cover up your confused and misguided youthful communism.

And I, along with many others whom have been responsible for others’ feeding themselves, know that your firing had MUCH more to do with refusal to work than what your co-workers’ thought about you.

Thinking back over most of the people I’ve been forced into firing, I can honestly say that the majority were because the employee refused to do an assigned task. Made my firing super simple and, usually, unemployment payouts a non-issue. Can’t tell you how many times I was grateful that the employees did my job for me and instead of risking lawsuits or months-long paid unemployment, I was gifted the backside of my problem walking out of my office forever.

Now, please, wish death upon me for daring to not say what you are fishing for.

Whatever, I’m done with you until you look down and realize the finger you are pointing at others, is attached to 3 others pointing right back at you.

Those that refuse to acknowledge their own mistakes and shortcomings have NO chance of fixing them. Just like my husband, our government, the unions. Refusal to acknowledge our own parts in our own “bad luck” is usually a huge part of the reason the “bad luck” continues.

Great stuff. In the end, it all boils down to the fact you cannot teach those who refuse to learn.

I think Punk’s Godzilla was, just marginally over Stuck’s interview, best post. Cracked me up.

I mean, how silly, for clammy to come on TBP and put it out there she just got fired. Wow. Oh well. Live and don’t learn is her motto.

I think she is probably just nursing a hangover. She will be back. This is the only place that she gets any air time – even though it is not a positive experience.

Plus, she is dysfunctional. I suspect that she likes getting her ass kicked. Why else would she keep making the same mistakes over and over? Her life is one giant toilet, and she keeps hitting the replay button.

I suspect she is bright enough to actually do well in life, if she can but get past thinking that everything that happens is someone else’s fault, even though time and again it is clear to any thinking person that she has caused her own problems.

She needs to reset her attitude and focus on controlling what she can – and that is her own actions. She can not control the assholes, and she cannot change the system, but she can figure out ways to work around those problems, instead of letting them eat her alive.

And she really must come to understand what it is to be an employee. She has no clue what an employ is paid to do – and that is to make money for the business. And her bosses are the ones that determine, largely, what function she needs to perform so she will actually accomplish that.

She is already the most bitter person on this site. Can you imagine what she will be like when she is fifty, having suffered through another 25 years of getting shit kicked out of her? Mama mia, that is a scary thought.

Hope she pulls through. Seriously. But I doubt it.
