THE TRIGGER

The libs are again shrieking about tougher gun laws to stop tragedies like the Santa Barbara slaughter. More nonsense from the control freak dullards who choose to misdirect the debate. This kid was mentally ill. He had been in therapy since he was 8 years old. He was on Xanax and other dangerous corporate pushed drugs that have a side effect of inducing rage and hostility. Liberals love their medications. California has the toughest gun laws in the country. The dude bought the guns legally in California. If his family knew he was mentally ill ( they called the cops to warn that he was going to do something violent) and he was under psychiatric care, how could the State allow him to purchase guns? I’m in favor of not selling guns to mentally ill people. I guess that is OK in California. What a progressive state. I wonder if he registered his knives and machete he used to kill the first three victims? There should be a law against killing people with knives and the BMW your rich parents bought you.

No need to focus on the Mega-Drug companies that contribute millions into the coffers of politicians across the land and pump out killer drugs by the millions given to children and teenagers so they will fit in and act like the rest of the zombies. Sometimes these drugs have the opposite effect. That is when people die. It has nothing to do with the weapon. It has to do with mental illness and the profits of drug companies.

Not to mention that we live in a highly dysfunctional culture that interferes with normal human social development.

In other words, BAU as we know it makes a small but significant number of people go fucking nuts.

Drugs only treat the symptoms, not the disease.

@Admin: Totally agree with you about the drugging up of our youth, the corruption of our elected officials with the campaign cash from Big Pharma and the complete insanity of the liberal point of view of guns.

Sirius Progress was full of people calling in this am about how we need stricter gun laws and one guy even said that every person that wants to purchase a gun should have a fed.gov sanctioned psych eval!!!!

I tried to call in to point out that FBI stats for gun violence are highest in the BLUE counties, that Texas with a CCL shall carry enacted in 1995 has had a DROP in violent crime, that all the mass shootings in this country occur in “gun free zones” and that, well, a heavily armed society is a polite society, But of course they didn’t take my call, can’t let REALITY and FACTS derail the narrative!!!

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry when I hear that shit, but I just go on my heavily armed merry way, secure in my ability to defend myself and my property from the violent psychopaths amongst us, and say Have a Nice Armageddon and May Harmony Find You to all these stooopid libs who have abrogated their right to save their own sorry asses.

Funny how this killing gets little attention compared to Sandy Hook. And the black killings, which run into the double digits every weekend in ChiTown get nearly no coverage.
You would think trying to kill blond beauty queens would strike closer to home and get more airtime! I guess knife + car + asian victims + rich, pampered kid on meds – tea party – assault weapons = no news.

99% of rich peoples kids seem to be assholes. Maybe rich people should be banned from having kids.

Every who reads this comment, think of the wealthiest people in your family, I’d bet fiat paper they, & especially their kids, are the biggest assholes in your family. Money changes people, usually for the worst.

Dear TBPers, ALL of you are FUCKED up beyond belief.

Don’t get mad at me. That’s what Big Pharma, Psychologists/Psychiatrists say according to The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) …. the “bible” of standard classification of mental disorders. It’s hundreds of pages long and has thousands of disorders. Almost every person in America has been, is, or will be mentally ill at some point in their lives.

If you are shy you have “avoidant personality disorder.”

If you value excess and conspicuous consumption as evidenced by “McMansions, outsized SUVs like the Bentley Behemoth, and flat screen TVs that double as load-bearing walls” then you have Bloated Toad Syndrome. Seriously.

And I’m pretty damn sure SSS is afflicted with “frotteurism” disorder —–the “intentional rubbing up against or touching of another, usually unsuspecting, person for the purpose of sexual arousal.”.

Bullshit Bullshit Bullshit Bullshit Bullshit Bullshit = definition of psychiatry

This has been discussed many times before but the answer to these mass murders by young people lies in the root cause of all of them. And what is that? The guns themselves? No. The legal access to purchase the guns? No.

Maybe the reckless prescription on mind altering drugs, given to individuals to treat or control some type of perceived mental mood or social assimilation shortcoming, with the ultimate effect contributing to even more or worsening mental stability is the root cause. Probably.

So why is this not addressed or challenged by authorities or the media. Where is this discussion? Why isn’t Dateline, 60 minutes, 20/20 or one of these other ‘news’ shows asking the hard questions to the doctors that were treating these individuals and the pharm companies that are producing the drugs. And also the parents of these kids should not be given a free pass, undoubtedly they were the ones insisting on their children’s treatment in the first place, to try and make them better, and they, the parents, should have been the first ones to notice any adverse effects and challenged the doctors as to what was really going on with their kids.

Until we as a public and a government can be honest with what the truth is, and what the root cause of the these horrible incidents are, and make changes with what drugs we give or children, then these types of murder sprees will continue and nobody should be surprised or outraged by them.

Aside from someone who presents himself as obviously psychotic when trying to buy a gun, any plan to cross-reference would-be gun buyers against a list of the supposedly mentally ill effectively means background checks. The only thing keeping us now from having “universal” background checks is that a select few states still allow private sales (aka the “gun show loophole”). Any background check system IS UNDENIABLY a gun owner database. Anyone who thinks the background check is purged from the FBI NICS computer after the check is certifiably insane. Therefore the “gun show loophole” is all that is stopping the feral government from assembling a complete gun owner database. The gun show loophole is what keeps the feral government guessing. I don’t want them to know who has the guns. If there are ways to stop crazies from getting guns without going to “universal background checks” I’d love to hear them, but I can’t see how. I don’t own guns. I’m not a gun guy, but I thoroughly object to “universal background checks” which EQUAL a national gun owner database – which is a necessary precursor to confiscation. It seems to me that the intellectually honest thing is to admit that we have to tolerate some of these murders by crazies in order preserve our right to defend ourselves against a rogue government.

I hear you, and understand the sentiment.

But, that comes with consequences (per Iska’s excellent commentary above).

Also, in the end, it probably solves nothing. I’m not going to look it up, but I’m guessing there is no statistically significant difference in violent crimes committed by the mentally ill vs those who are not. IMHO, people mistakenly associate mental illness with violent behavior. How much damage can a person who believes he’s a hat do? The millions who are / have been in prison …. I’ll bet the vast majority are mentally normal.

We are NEVER going to have a discussion about the drugs, at least as long as 30-50% of ad revenues is paid for by Pharms, insurance and Federales.

The ONLY reference I have heard is that he was “off his meds,” and that we need to prescribe appropriate drugs more carefully.

The research continues to trickle out that these meds are next to worthless (the placebo effect is what “fixes” most people that take them) and that the violent or suicidal thoughts are NOT aberrations, but very, very, very common and Big Pharma has known about it for as long as they have been pushing them.

Kinda like statins that lower IQ, increase the risk of death and only reduce heart attacks by ONE participant over placebos. And now we are prescribing them to children with ZERO knowledge of what depriving a growing brain of needed cholesterol is going to create.

This country is screwed and the sheeple continue to scream to make it worse.

Worse it will be.

Meds CREATE more problems than they solve.

When my son went on psycho-meds MORE problems were created …. feelings (emotional) and issues (physical) that did not exist prior. The solution? Stronger doses and/or combined with new other meds. And it becomes a vicious fucking cycle that fucks up the person beyond belief.

And then there’s the ‘addictive’ aspect. That’s why a lot of meds come with the warning — “Notify your physician before you stop taking the drug”. So, not only do the drugs fuck you up, you are almost permanently addicted to being fucked up, and if you stop you just might be more fucked up than when you first started. Nice racket!

(My son has been off meds now for, I believe 6 months, seems to be doing great with not even the slightest hint of recurring episodes. He’s one of the lucky ones.)

Couldn’t agree with you more Stucky. Having gone through the psychiatric goat rope with our daughter years ago, we experienced the same thing. When one med didn’t seem to be doing the trick they would try another then another then a combination of two meds then three, then different combinations. During the whole time she got progressively confused and violent until we said enough and stopped the whole process and flushed all the meds down the toilet. Within three weeks we started to see that we were getting our daughter back, she returned to her normal wonderful self and has stayed that way ever since.

Fuck big pharma and all the parasite professionals that use the drugs as a crutch to validate their profession and poison young and old minds.

The government is content just dishing out meds to people. They’re going to start implanting chips into people’s brains. It always starts with soldiers doesn’t it?

The Military Is Building Brain Chips to Treat PTSD

How well can you predict your next mood swing? How well can anyone? It’s an existential dilemma for many of us but for the military, the ability to treat anxiety, depression, memory loss and the symptoms associated with post-traumatic stress disorder has become one of the most important battles of the post-war period.

Now the Pentagon is developing a new, innovative brain chip to treat PTSD in soldiers and veterans that could bring sweeping new changes to the way depression and anxiety is treated for millions of Americans.

With $12 million (and the potential for $26 million more if benchmarks are met), the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA, wants to reach deep into your brain’s soft tissue to record, predict and possibly treat anxiety, depression and other maladies of mood and mind. Teams from the University of California at San Francisco, Lawrence Livermore National Lab and Medtronic will use the money to create a cybernetic implant with electrodes extending into the brain. The military hopes to have a prototype within 5 years and then plans to seek FDA approval.

DARPA’s Systems-Based Neurotechnology for Emerging Therapies, or SUBNETs, program draws from almost a decade of research in treating disorders such as Parkinson’s disease via a technique called deep brain stimulation. Low doses of electricity are sent deep into the brain in somewhat the same way that a defibrillator sends electricity to jumpstart a heart after cardiac arrest.

While it sounds high-tech, it’s a crude example of what’s possible with future brain-machine interaction and cybernetic implants in the decades ahead.

“DARPA is looking for ways to characterize which regions come into play for different conditions – measured from brain networks down to the single neuron level – and develop therapeutic devices that can record activity, deliver targeted stimulation, and most importantly, automatically adjust therapy as the brain itself changes,” DARPA program manager Justin Sanchez said.

SUBNETs isn’t the only military research initiative aimed at stimulating the brain with electricity. The Air Force has been studying the effects of low amounts of electricity on the brain by using a non-invasive interface (a cap that doesn’t penetrate into the skull.) The objective is to deliver a caffeine-like boost to help soldiers stay alert through long stretches of piloting or screen interaction. The current DARPA project stands out as uniquely ambitious in what it promises to reveal about the brain, in addition to stimulating it.

Stucky, our moment of clarity came when child protective services showed up at our door unannounced to inform us they were confiscating our child because they felt we could not care for her and assure her safety any more. Without going through the details, you can imagine how that went over. It was the closest I have ever been to putting a beat down on total strangers. Needless to say they left in a hurry with promises to follow up, which they did. After leaving the house the meds were flushed and the rest is history as stated above.

The presumptuous attitude that the protective service goons displayed on our doorstep, that they could just show up and take away our kid was incredulous. We joke and talk about these types of things that the government may or may not do when society starts to break down. They will come to your home, they will want to take your guns, your gold, your money, and maybe even you.

When this day comes you will need to be prepared for what you will do because you will not have time to think in the moment of how to respond. They won’t knock first and it won’t be a drill.
