Twelve people were murdered and 18 injured at a bar in Ventura County last week. Our hearts go out to those who lost loved family members or friends in the attack. We can’t imagine what is going through the minds on parents.
California issues very few concealed handgun permits and Ventura County is below the state per capita average rate, but permitted concealed handguns are banned in any place that serves alcohol for consumption. Below is a picture of the first page of the concealed handgun permit application for California.
It appears unlikely that the security guard at the bar was armed, but people who are recognized as security guards have an incredibly difficult job stopping these attacks. The same is true for the sheriff sergeant who entered the bar to stop the attack.

Lawmaker Calls For Study On Links Between Pharmaceuticals And Mass Killers

Following recent media reports of high-profile mass shootings, a Republican assemblywoman from Nevada is calling for an investigation into whether psychiatric pharmaceuticals commonly taken by mass murderers can cause side effects that may contribute to their mental health decline.
According to KSNV Las Vegas, GOP Assemblywoman Michele Fiore says that, rather than blaming mass shootings on the guns used by the perpetrators, studies should be done on the drugs that many of them have a history of having taken to treat mental health disorders.
“We have to look into what is being prescribed and what is in these meds just like clinical studies. Why don’t we do studies on the medication all of these shooters were taking and take that medication off the market? Obviously, medications can alter your mind just as alcohol can alter the mind,” said Fiore.
Though it is not yet known whether the perpetrator in last week’s tragic shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon was on psychiatric medication, early reports from The Oregonian note that he identified himself by the social media screen name “lithium love,” he mentioned anger and depression in a note that was found in connection with the attack, and he had a long history of behavioral problems in school.
He had also been discharged by the U.S. Army midway through basic training in 2008 and graduated from a school that The Oregonian described as “geared for special education students with a range of issues from learning disabilities, health problems and autism or Asperger’s Disorder.”
In August of this year, a CBS46 Atlanta Reality Check report by Ben Swann raised questions about the possibility of a connection between mass murderers and pharmaceutical drugs used to treat mental health disorders, noting that 26 high-profile perpetrators had been taking psychiatric medication.

There is a growing divide in the country and day by day it grows deeper and more irrevocable. All around us we see the signs, if we look for them, of decay and collapse built into the very system itself.
If you reward indolence, it will become the norm, if we practice wholesale slaughter from the womb to a foreign wedding party others will take the cue. If we celebrate slatterns and degenerates and ridicule the wholesome and traditional we will wind up with more of one and less of another.
The further an organism lives from it’s natural state, the more adaptable the organism will become to that which is unnatural.
Yesterday an older farmer came to pick up his cow from my farm. She had been a guest of ours for several days to be bred by my bull and when he arrived I asked him to pull his trailer to the lower trail beside the stream and open the rear door. I explained that I would be opening a gate from one pasture and leading the animals to another, that his animals- the cow and her young heifer- would follow at the rear of the herd and when he saw them approach he would simply close the pasture gate behind them and allow them to load back in his trailer. The cattle dogs watched my every move, excited to work and anxious for their opportunity to show off to my friend. I called out to the cows- mooing to them from the trailhead- and they quickly assembled at the gate, mooing in return.

LET’S POLITICIZE THIS
Latest nutjob to become famous for killing people.
I actually agree with Obama for once. The savior in chief again stepped up to his teleprompter and attempted to capitalize on another mass shooting tragedy for his own political purposes. He thinks the murder of 9 people by another mentally defective, emotionally disturbed, unemployed, male loser from a broken home should be politicized to do away with your Second Amendment rights. He blames guns for the mass murder.
That’s funny. I think this should be politicized for an entirely different logical reason. I focused on a couple key facts the MSM and Obama will ignore:
Records show Harper-Mercer, 26, lived in a ground-floor apartment on Arlington Avenue at 230th Street in Torrance with his mother, Laurel Harper, from 2011 to 2013. Lists of South Bay graduates from 2009 published in the Daily Breeze showed Harper Mercer graduated from the Switzer Learning Center in Torrance with four other students. Switzer teaches students with learning disabilities and emotional issues. A former behavioral aide at Switzer, who did not want her name used, said the majority of the students at the school are from foster, low-income and single-parent homes. Some of these students were expelled from other schools or had been in trouble with the law. The school is divided among special needs students and those with behavioral problems.
It is pretty clear he has been emotionally disturbed for years if he graduated from a school for emotionally disturbed kids who can’t function in traditional public schools. Then there was another tidbit that he posted on some social media site with the alias Lithium Lover. Lithium just happens to be a drug as described below:
Lithium is useful in the treatment of bipolar disorder. Lithium salts may also be helpful for related diagnoses, such as schizoaffective disorder and cyclic major depression.
So we have another male loner who has been emotionally disturbed for years from a broken home. Can someone please ask his father or mother whether he was taking psychotropic drugs of any kind? Or is that a private matter that has nothing to do with this mass murder? Virtually every mass murder over the last 10 years has been committed by mentally disturbed young men who were on psychotropic drugs. Jared Lee Loughner, Adam Lanza, Seung-Hui Cho and James Holmes were all on psychotropic drugs. Why is no one in the mass media exploring this key fact? I’ll tell you. It’s because they have an anti-gun agenda. Obama should be calling for a ban on psychotropic drugs being distributed to teenagers.
The mass murder issue should be politicized. Obama and the mass media should be politicizing why there are so many emotionally disturbed young men being drugged up by Big Pharma with dangerous drugs that have proven to spur anger and mass murder. It will take a non-mainstream media to uncover the truth about what drugs this dude was taking.
Antidepressants Scientifically Linked To Violent Behavior In Youth

A new study published in the PLoS Medicine journal has found that younger people taking antidepressants are more likely to commit violent crimes.
Reuters reports that the researchers “used a unique study design which aimed to avoid confounding factors by comparing the same individuals’ behavior while they were on and while they were off medication.” The study was led by Seena Fazel of Britain’s Oxford University.
Fazel’s team used matched data from Sweden’s prescribed drug register and its national crime register over a three-year period. Among 850,000 people prescribed Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs), one percent were convicted of a violent crime. SSRIs are often prescribed to fight off anxiety and depression and include drugs like Prozac and Paxil.
Most of the age groups did not show an increase in crime and violence, however, the 15-24 year-old group showed a 43 percent increase in their risk of committing violent crime while on SSRIs. The researchers also observed an increased risk for younger people to be involved in violent arrests, non-violent convictions and arrests, non-fatal injuries, and alcohol problems when they were taking antidepressants. The results also showed those who took lower doses had an increased risk of being violent.
Ironically, the researchers recommend that young people might take higher doses of the drugs to reduce the risk of violence and criminal activity. Fazel told Reuters it is possible that younger people taking lower doses are not being “fully treated,” leaving them vulnerable to impulsive behavior.

THE TRIGGER
The libs are again shrieking about tougher gun laws to stop tragedies like the Santa Barbara slaughter. More nonsense from the control freak dullards who choose to misdirect the debate. This kid was mentally ill. He had been in therapy since he was 8 years old. He was on Xanax and other dangerous corporate pushed drugs that have a side effect of inducing rage and hostility. Liberals love their medications. California has the toughest gun laws in the country. The dude bought the guns legally in California. If his family knew he was mentally ill ( they called the cops to warn that he was going to do something violent) and he was under psychiatric care, how could the State allow him to purchase guns? I’m in favor of not selling guns to mentally ill people. I guess that is OK in California. What a progressive state. I wonder if he registered his knives and machete he used to kill the first three victims? There should be a law against killing people with knives and the BMW your rich parents bought you.
No need to focus on the Mega-Drug companies that contribute millions into the coffers of politicians across the land and pump out killer drugs by the millions given to children and teenagers so they will fit in and act like the rest of the zombies. Sometimes these drugs have the opposite effect. That is when people die. It has nothing to do with the weapon. It has to do with mental illness and the profits of drug companies.
DARK KNIGHT MEETS REALITY
So much for funny Friday. I woke up to the news below. A crazed gunman methodically and systematically slaughtered 14 young people and wounded 50 others at the midnight opening of The Dark Knight Rises. He had multiple weapons and used tear gas to disorient his victims before murdering them. It was clear that he planned this well in advance. The authorities have not released his name or any details about his motive. I’m going to go out on a limb and guess his background. I bet he is a 20 year old white guy. We will find out he was a loner in high school. He never had a girlfriend and had few or no friends. His parents are probably divorced. He doesn’t have a job. He’s felt alienated from society and has been living in a fantasy world for years. Somebody probably assessed his mental state within the last two years and concluded he was a danger to himself and others, but the system did nothing. In retrospect, there will be a list of clear signs that he would eventually go off, but no one wanted to get involved.
I think his choice of this movie was purposeful. He didn’t choose Hangover 2. He chose a movie about alienation, pain, societal collapse and darkness. This was done as a statement about our increasingly degenerative society. People communicate on electronic devices. We hole up in our houses or apartments, cut off from human contact. There are evil villians sucking the last vestiges of wealth from the lowly serfs. The anger, pain and disillusion are palpable throughout society. People are confused. They can’t figure out the enemy. Government can’t protect you. Government is the main reason for this alienation. The kneejerk reaction of the liberal dogooders will be to ban guns, as if guns caused this slaughter. Banning guns will not stop the slow methodical decline of our society. It is much larger than guns. It is our entire culture. Materialism, greed, selfishness, profit at any cost, isolation, lack of personal responsibility, and delusional willfull ignorance have overwhelmed our country.
Fourth Turnings always reach a climax when those on the perceived side of good have a final showdown with the perceived side of evil. We are likely a few years from this showdown, but there is no guarantee that good will vanquish evil. A revolution is on the horizon. Everyone will need to choose sides. There will be no one allowed to stand on the sidelines.
My son and his friends went to the midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises last night. He arrived home safely. My heart goes out to the mothers and fathers in Colorado whose children will never return.
