How Matt Drudge Won The 2016 Election

I don’t think it was necessarily Matt Drudge, but the point is a valid one to debate.  I think that a lot of people are so sick of our news-celebrity broadcasts and hearing what this or that actor thinks about poverty or crime as they step from their limousine to the camera to give their sound bite for the evening news to let us know how we are supposed to think.  So I think the blogs played a very important role in this election and Matt Drudge deserves a nod for sure.

In an election cycle when just about everyone got it wrong, Matt Drudge ended up vindicated.

It was a year ago that I sent my first $25 monthly contribution to Trump. He wasn’t fund raising then but I sent him a my small contribution just to show that he did have support. I didn’t think he would get the nomination much less become president but he was saying the right things in the right way.

There weren’t many who publicly supported Trump back then ( except for the ‘little people’ who went to his rallies so it was important to see that people like me weren’t nuts. That Trump was a legitimate candidate and you could support him. Drudge was important in that regard as was this website and the Conservative Treehouse who really went all out for Trump.

That we elected our guy President is remarkable and that , in doing so, we destroyed two political dynasties the icing on the cake. Just knowing that The Rodhamster has nothing to do but ruin Bill’s life and that Jeb Bush is permanently damaged goods has made Trump’s presidency wildly successful before it has even begun.

Hey Maggie,
Good idea for discussion…for sure.
Alternative media/New media/Internet Media/and The Drudge united
to cry foul over Mrs. Clinton’s crazy ass presentations. And, moreover,
to shine a light on Trump. As I recall, it was a difficult task/it was a process
really. People that looked at Trump, they qualified their opinion. They
considered him “barely tolerable” because he is a boor, crass, vulgar, said pussy,
and “must have worked with bankers before.”

I have not watched MSM in years. They are lousy actors reading poor text…who
needs that? Plus I saw brief flashes of Obama in a red box (the eye can be quick)
twice while watching the second showing of the O’Rielly show. (07-08) Why should we
care about those programmed programs? It is self-defense to avoid them.

I agree, Suzanna, that this is an interesting opportunity for some egghead in the media to study and report on for his Master’s Thesis in Communication. Then, in another two years of going deeper in debt, that same egghead can replicate his data set about the increasing influence of alternative media on conservative voters for a PhD! Then, he or she will be an EXPERT.
