The Insanity in Korea – But Is it Logical?

Guest Post by Martin Armstrong

The South China Post reported that Chinese scientists fear that a mountain in North Korea under which the last five bombs detonated as tests, may collapse crumbling into a crater. They fear that the radiation underground would then leak across region.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that the escalating crisis concerning North Korea’s weapons program is placing the world at risk of developing into a “global catastrophe” with massive casualties. Putin has UNREALISTICALLY said that the only way to resolve the crisis was through diplomacy. For that to be even a possibility, it requires talking. Kim Jong Un has not even met with the leader of China – its once closest Allies.

Let’s put this is perspective. Why is Kim pushing the world to the brink? Kim Jong Un looks at this differently He believes that the survival of his regime depends on possessing nuclear weapons. He is most likely NOT interested in starting a nuclear war for he cannot be so stupid to believe he would win. Yet, Kim also realizes that the prospect of the USA sending a nuke to North Korea is also not likely for that would antagonize China and risk pollution drifting to South Korea and Japan, not to mention China. So with all the saber rattling, Kim is not stupid and realizes that the USA cannot launch a first strike.

Now, what is the goal of Kim? To be honest, Kim Jong Un does not trust the USA for from the outsider perspective, he has watched how American intervention in Iraq ended in the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, his execution as well as family members, and left the country ravaged by war and a puppet of Washington. Obviously, Kim has made the determination that had Saddam truly possessed nuclear power then the USA would never have intervened. This logic is understandable for it creates the stalemate between USA, China, and Russia. The USA invading Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria with the objective of regime change creates the image that one must protect themselves and this is Kim’s perspective.

Sanctions will never work because Kim would starve his people before giving up his power. Also, as long as he appears to be strong, then there is little risk of an internal coup. If he backs down and appears weak, the prospect of being overthrown becomes probable from within.

There was a time when the pieces fit but I watched them fall away.
Mildewed and smoldering, strangled by our coveting.
We’ve done the math enuf 2 no the dangers of r 2nd guessing.
Doomed to crumble unless we grow & strengthen our communication.

Agree with M. Armstrong and with the thinking of Kim on the nuclear issue.

And Armstrong’s solution is what??

I guess we’ll have to use our imagination

Why not just leave him alone?

Bingo!!!

ALL this bullshit can be completely avoided if we simply ignored Kimmie’s lunatic ravings

But, nooooo, we must act on what he thinks and says ….. a Minority Report foreign policy.

Trump and his merry men of Bellicose Bullshitters share EQUAL responsibility for the war of words. People who bought “Art of the Deal” should demand a refund. This man is no Statesman. He is the Escalator In Chief …. just like the copfuks he loves so much.

I think the point of the article was that no one wants a nuclear bomb to be launched on any city, as it would not profit anyone; NK, China, Russia or the USA. Having proved this point, he goes on to say that the only way the little dictator can remain in power is to keep pushing the nuclear option.
Using a little imagination, one can foresee this dangerous game taking a bad turn by a second or third tier operator inadvertently either launching, or responding to a supposed launch, resulting in a nuclear conflict, with the rest of the nations aggressively posturing in the chaos for a bigger piece of the post war pie. Each launch/detonation/response are the moves of a dangerous game that seems will be played out until someone finally screws up.

The problems of WW1 and WW2 just seem to linger on. Made worse by our dealings with Gadaffi, Hussein, and Assad.

Of course the little fat bastard is going to perfect his nukes. He sees it as his ultimate check against how we “negotiated” with the others.

The reality of the situation no one wants to face:

Kim is a psychopath who would have probably just developed into a normal run of the mill serial killer had he not inherited NK from his family.

That lets him be a psychopath and serial killer on a much greater level than the average psychopath can even dream of being.

Maybe we should just ignore him, the same way we ignore all the other serial killers running around racking up a string of kills in our cities and States. After all, they were born that way, it isn’t as if they had a choice in it.

If we are to believe Suki Kim (https://www.theburningplatform.com/2017/09/05/undercover-in-north-korea-all-paths-lead-to-catastrophe/) and NK is so far out of touch with the rest of the world and all/most believe in the divine right of the Leader, then it does make sense to leave them alone. True that a trigger happy idiot on either side could result in horrific disaster. But that threat has always been held over our heads. Remove the “sword of Damocles” and let NK get on with its destiny. Simplistic, yes… yet often the simple solutions are often the best with complicated issues. Will other nations likewise strive to obtain WMDs…you bet, especially those who have been dealt Jackboot Diplomacy. Lets get the fuck out of other nations business and shore up our own boarders. After all, it is just single thread supporting the sword over our heads.

Problem is that it isn’t us that needs to leave him alone, it is him that needs to leave everyone else alone.

All aggressive action and talk is originating on his side, not ours or anyone else’s.

“Problem is that it isn’t us that needs to leave him alone, it is him that needs to leave everyone else alone.”

Other than poking a stick at the South, firing missiles into the seas, and some run ins with the Navy, NK has pretty much kept to themselves. I mean, what countries have they bombed, invaded, or financed arms? And look at the involvement of the US Jackboots throughout the world for the past 60 years. Maybe they just want to be left alone, and maybe a 100 year negotiation might be a viable end to the insanity of all parties. It just might be that a unified Korea under terms satisfactory to all parties could happen many years down the road…just not now.

Shoot every missile he flies beyond his border down; NK and Fat Boy will become road kill history, the US makes a trillion dollars on that ABM System, the World (and our ships) becomes a safer place.
