QUOTES OF THE DAY

“The right of the people to keep and bear…arms shall not be infringed. A well regulated militia, composed of the people, trained to arms, is the best and most natural defense of a free country.”

James Madison

An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.

Robert Heinlein

Bully pulpit ain’t polite, but soft-walkin’ with a big stick is.

We have no hope of freedom if the 2nd amendment is lost. It will be a uphill struggle to maintain the right to arm oneself. Looks grim.

I carry a big stick….Oh is that a fly on your liberal forehead…..hold still…..I’ll get with this stick….SMACK…damn he got away. Oh well there’s always next time .

I wonder if the students who are going to march for the banning of guns will volunteer to go with the armed thugs to pick them up ? If so then they’ll see a video game come to life .

I’ve never been into video games, but I might play in the one you describe!

Oops. I wrote the novel “Unintended Consequences” featured a lot of archery. Nope. It was Vin’s “The Black Arrow.”

For Heinlein fans, there was another science fiction series that put forth a vision of how a free society might evolve out into the future. It explored the theme of the right to bear arms, and took the idea to a very logical and entertaining conclusion. ‘The Weapon Shops of Isher”, by A. E. Van Vogt, portrayed a world in which carrying personal weapons was required by law. The Sci-Fi twist was that the weapons were designed to be able to fire only when the weapon sensed that it was being fired in self-defense!

As Heinlein’s quote above describes, Just imagine a world in which an individual’s personal security is defended at all times…
