Yeah…pretty cool moment.
Emotional.
Loving acceptance.

-I have friends and family who have become Grandparents recently, and the joy & love they express and feel with those kids is priceless.

Closest I can get to that is when we get together at large gatherings. Uncle Sudsy isn’t seen that often, so there’s a bit of shyness in the little ones. At first.
When comfort levels are later eased, I usually get the 3 year old toddlers to smile, giggle, and laugh hysterically, while just bein’ silly.
Tugging at me heartstrings, when that happens. Pure magical moments; memories forever.

One monkey round here has evidence of just such a moment, with little curly.

Damn to hell, those people setting up such a gloomy future for these little ones.

EL Coyote once wrote that he imagined a bumper sticker: Be nice to your neighbor, he may be raising your kids one day.

This Norman Rockwell fantasy of old America is bullshit. The real America has always been other than that mawkish treacle, it’s real and in your face. The bullshit America is Leave it to Beaver, the real America is diverse, if Norman Rockwell were alive today, he’d be painting Cousin Eddie.

I’m missing something. What’s the context? What is the connection with being a cousin? Why does he need adopting? Come from a broken family? Parents killed in a toboggan accident? Did they not want a little fat shit for a son? Did they give up the kid because he shits on the school bus? Nah, this didn’t tug at my heart strings-It pulled the magical finger.

It’s easy to imagine his real family is fucked up – on meth / prison / etc.

How do we know the new parents aren’t worse than the old ones? Look at that fat fuck sitting on the couch. Just what this kid needs-John Pinette for a role model.

A Parable by El Coyote
The Christmas Gift
After twenty years went by, the old teacher asked what his three students had done with the saplings he had given each one.
Teacher, I planted this sapling in a small container and I have diligently trimmed its branches so that now I have a beautiful bonsai tree decorating my desk.
Very good, said the teacher. Here is another sapling for you to plant.
Teacher, I planted the sapling outdoors and over the years, I cut branches off and dried them for firewood.
Well done, said the teacher. Here are a couple more saplings for you to plant.
Teacher, said a third student, I planted the sapling and watered it and added fertilizer every year. I pruned the branches that did not grow in an upward direction or that went against a better branch. My tree is now big enough to give my house shade and every fall, I enjoy the fruit from the tree.
You have done wisely, said the teacher. I have been waiting to appoint a new teacher. Here are twenty saplings for you to share with your future students.

Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.

And here I thought the meek were to inherit the earth.

Meek is the key word. Moses was said to be meek. I would say the better word is ‘obedient’. The obedient shall inherit the earth. Sinners are said to be disobedient; logically speaking, they will not inherit shit.
