YouTube To Delete All Accounts That Aren’t “Commercially Viable” Starting Dec. 10th

Via ZeroHedge

This is obvious censorship. YouTube is planning to silence those who disagree with the political/ruling class and have taken sides. Speaking truth to power is now borderline criminal. The censorship continues…

Authored by Ethan Huff via Natural News,

Content creators everywhere are starting to panic about an upcoming policy change over at YouTube that threatens to eliminate all accounts and channels on the Google-owned video platform that are deemed to no longer be “commercially viable.”

In the “Account Suspension & Termination” section of YouTube’s “Terminations by YouTube for Service Changes,” guidelines, the company explains that, as of December 10, 2019, “YouTube may terminate your access, or your Google account’s access to all or part of the Service, if YouTube believes, in its sole discretion, that provision of the Service to you is no longer commercially viable.”

In other words, if you have a YouTube channel that YouTube employees decide isn’t profitable enough for Google, then the company has now granted itself the option to completely shut down your account without warning or consequence.

What this means is that YouTube content creators who’ve built their entire livelihoods around the platform are going to need a backup option in the event that they end up being terminated. One such option is Brighteon.com, which you can sign up for here.

It also means that YouTube has created for itself yet another legal loophole to continue targeting channels that disseminate politically incorrect content, which YouTube has been trying to silence from its platform for at least the past several years.

In essence, YouTube now has a blanket excuse to pull down all channels that it wants to see eliminated by simply claiming that these channels are no longer profitable. And there will likely be no way for targeted YouTube users to prove otherwise.

According to YouTube, these changes merely make the company’s Terms of Service “clearer and easier to understand.” But for most people carefully observing what’s going on, the obvious reality is that YouTube is once again up to no good.

“The terms could be a way for YouTube to remove channels that promote hate speech, conspiracy theories, or harmful messages whose content isn’t extreme enough to warrant an outright ban, as these are unlikely to be commercially viable,” writes Rob Thubron for Techspot, illustrating this point.

“But if this is the case, it needs to be clearly explained,” he adds.

ALL YOUTUBE HAS TO DO NOW TO SILENCE FREE SPEECH IS DEMONETIZE CHANNELS IT DOESN’T LIKE AND FORCE THEM INTO COMMERCIAL NON-VIABILITY

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what YouTube is planning to do once this policy change comes into full effect.

We already know that many conservative-leaning YouTube channels have been demonetized by YouTube with the goal of driving them out of business. However, thanks to workarounds like Patreon, many of these channels are still up and running, despite YouTube’s best efforts to financially destroy them.

Since mere demonetization hasn’t led to the outcome that YouTube hoped for, the Google-owned video platform is now making “commercial viability,” as arbitrarily defined by YouTube, a new requirement to maintain a presence on YouTube.

“First they’ll demonetize you, then they’ll remove you completely because you are no longer ‘commercially viable,’” warns Twitter user “Raging Golden Eagle” about where this all is headed.

If you’re a YouTube creator or know someone who is, let this be the writing on the wall as to what’s coming in less than a month. YouTube wants total control over everything that happens on its platform, just like its parent company Google wants over its search engine platform.

“Just another backdoor attempt at censorship and traffic steering,” wrote one Techspot commenter in response to the news.

“In a few years, YouTube will only allow creators that have a minimum of 100K followers within 90 days of launch and they’ll have to be a member of the local communist party.”

Exercise your free speech, without commercial censorship, at Brighteon.com.

Start Page is Google. It just hides your searching tracks by going through a proxy is all. Duckduckgo is not based on Google.

Thanks. I did not know that. Sneaky bastards. And, I usually use Duckduckgo because it is easier and usually gives more results. Will delete startpage from my list.

I assume that YouTube will implement this policy selectively and unfairly, but I’ve always been amazed that people have built their economic lives around the the assumption that a single company would provide an expensive infrastructure for free to its users. I understand that YouTube gets ad revenue – some of which they share with “content providers”, but the whole profit model for YouTubers is built on the capricious plans of one company that holds all the cards.

And when alternatives pop up, Google will buy them out and unabashedly quash the upstart and the content; and our “betters” in D.C. will remain willfully blind to the Anti-trust violations.

Net: Google will still hold all the cards.

My developer wanted me to upload our training videos to YouTube and simply add the embed code to our site. I said no way mostly because I didn’t want the youtube branding and I didn’t want to rely on a 3rd party. Nope, we uploaded to our own servers and added a player.

Anyone who has a YouTube channel with followers should make a website pronto and let their followers know where to find them. Well, or simply do as this article says…go to brighteon.com

Why dont conservative techies, investors or venture capitalists create competing platforms? Why is it that only the left has Silicon Valley controlled? Is this by design?

Bitchute is also slowly starting to come online.

However, the major hosting companies are all owned by the far-left. So even if you design your own web site, your host may decide to shut you down.

And even if you build your own host, and your own ISP, and your own CDN (content distribution network), your bank/payment processor might decide to cut you off.

The difficulties are daunting, to be sure. But difficulties are made to be overcome.

Happy to see more comments than usual about going to alternative sites. When the people search for and find a site that better suits their needs, eventually the new site will become more popular and even more people will move to it and you tube will dry up and be consigned to the dustbin of history.

I’m currently doing this with Drudge. Quit reading his site and switched to Whatfinger and Trends.gab for my news. It takes less time (not wading through NYT / WaPo / ABC / NBC / CBS garbage like Drudge links to) and gives more (real) information.
No matter who curates (selects) the news displayed by an aggregator, you still have to be sceptical – there is fake news on some conservative sites (usually cited in jest / sarcasm / humiliation) so keep your mud boots on.

It’s just a hunch, but I don’t think Drudge curates The Drudge Report any longer. It appears the same Algo/AI stories running Daily Mail, have hijacked Drudge. (0r he sold out for a lot of shekels.)

I watch ‘Think About It’ a Christian site who has been speaking out against You Tube censorship, shadow banning and demonization for a long time.

At the end of most of his vids he reminds subscribers where to go when Google and You Tube completely ban him, and everyone else of a non Luciferian Globalists mind set.

One of my favorite websites “The Firearms Blog” or TFB, is migrating to Patreon.
It’s just a matter of time before the better content providers in this realm get shut down and YouTube gets a real competitor by strangling content and income opportunities.

This is a transparent attempt at censorship. The most interesting and important posts are generally made by John Q. Citizen and not by ‘commercially viable accounts.’ My recommendation is that if and when YouTube goes full on Nazi then you should move your content to Brighteon. They are the best alternative to Youtube.

On another note, The Gateway Pundit just banned my access to their comment section. This so called news site claims to be a voice for conservatism! Bah! They claim the reason for my being banned has to so with an anti-semitic comment on one of the threads. I nicely pointed out to them that Ashkenazi Jews are not semitic, they are white people claiming to be jewish. I also pointed out that Arabs are actually semitic and the state of Israel is blatantly anti-semitic in their persecution of such.

I also let advised them that their ban is an attempt at censorship by letting them know a little Voltaire. Additionally, I find it amusing that anyone can use a VPN and a new user id and continue to comment on their site.

I find the Gateway Pundit is anti-liberty for such actions. While the owners of the site do have the right to limit who has access to it, they do not own Disqus and Disqus has not banned my access. I have vowed to work at putting their anti-liberty site into the dust bin of history with as much effort I can muster. They whine about the liberals trying to put them out of business when they shoot themselves in the foot with their actions.
