Federal government to close over one inch of expected snow

Via The Washington Examiner

Federal government employees in Washington will be permitted to leave work hours early on Tuesday as the region anticipates just an inch of snowfall.

“Employees of Federal offices in the Washington, DC area are authorized for early departure,” the Office of Personnel Management said in a notice to staff. “Employees should depart 4 hours earlier than their normal departure time and may request UNSCHEDULED LEAVE to depart prior to their staggered departure time. All employees MUST DEPART at no later than 1:00 p.m. at which time FEDERAL OFFICES are CLOSED.”

Temperatures are expected to drop in Washington as the day progresses, with periods of light rain and snow expected in the afternoon. Overall, forecasts predict 1-3 inches of accumulated snow.

In addition to the government closures, several schools throughout the metropolitan region shut down entirely for the day, and many others were scheduled for early releases.

While the forecasts appear minimal, Washington experienced a major snowstorm just a few years ago, with accumulation reaching over 17 inches in January 2016.

So, the snowflakes have to have safe spaces from snowflakes.

I thought this was satire until I realized we were discussing Mordor’s Corridor on the Potomac.

We’ll have to get the weather modification geeks to make this happen more often, (at least seven days a week).

It would cost us all far less to simply install snow-making machines everywhere and keep them all home permanently. Or just fire them all.

Maybe declare that non-essential “civil” servants need not come to work and find out how many are considered non-essential-prob well over 50%.

1% of what they do might be considered “essential,” but there is 0% need to have these particular parasites doing it. And in the absence of these folks, whatever is ACTUALLY needed WILL GET HANDLED – voluntarily and peacefully.

I think this may be spreading. Here in the Adirondack park we get snow. It starts in mid October and can last till May. Snow on and off for days straight is common. Lately it seems that even an inch or two requires the media to issue a Winter snow -storm Watch/Warning / Advisory or Emergency. This is for every expected snow fall. It is like that phrase. “Be afraid Be very afraid” Utter nonsense for a place that will not see green until Mid April.

It drives my wife crazy when I say “Be afraid, be very afraid” mockingly at some newsflash—

“Tonight at 6, this silent killer could be in your home”…. “Tonight, this new threat to your children has many families worried, tune in at 6″……. “Could your family be at risk of (some form of obscure disease or death), turn on News Five at 6′ oclock to find out”……..

It’s a red pill thing, once you notice these things ( like 75% of commercials being blacks or 25% interracial) you can’t NOT notice the propaganda at work.

A whole inch? Take that you climate change deniers! Oh, and that 6.4 magnitude earthquake in Puerto Rico this morning? Yep, it proves that climate change is real, just like Australian wildfires and the New Zealand volcanic eruption.

Back in the day, I had the Army’s Materiel Command as a client. It was in the giant 10 story building on Eisenhower Ave adjacent to the I 395 loop in Alexandria. In the winter pre-storm days people used to stand and the window and pray for snow and when the first flake was “confirmed” it was a mad dash to the parking lot to get to Food Giant (TP, milk and bread) and then home…..

Simply priceless…….

I posit the Russians are the worlds best fighting force. Just attack us if snow in the forecast. Russians win hands down. The DC area was 1 bigly parking lot today.
