Does Memorial Day 2021 seem an unusually grim lull between spring and summer this year? Here in the northeast, rain pounded the lakes, ballfields, and barbeque circles all weekend with the additional insult of a steady fifty-degree chill that hardly changed from noon to midnight all weekend. Anyway, the holiday is always freighted with that hush of battlefields strewn with the dead — no smiling Santa Claus, no pastel Easter eggs, and the skeletons aren’t in the mood for dancing.
Even the military looked tarnished this year with a battle royale raging over the new imposed strictures of Critical Race Theory poisoning the ranks, and the fishy spectacle of Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier, an exemplary officer, getting drummed out of his post as Commander of the new Space Force for publishing a book about all that. His firing provoked the consciences of retired generals and admirals who denounced the Pentagon’s new tilt into Marxist political activism as an existential threat to the nation — and that didn’t seem like such an exaggeration, either, considering how an America led by transsexual gunnery sergeants might meet its future foes on the fields of war.
Memorial Day also marks one year since the sacred transfiguration of George Floyd from repeat felon to patron saint of social justice, but the remembrance of all that seemed a bit wan now that officer Derek Chauvin stands convicted of murder and the Floyd family has been elevated into the financial one-percent with a $27-million settlement for the loss of George’s earnest existence. Meanwhile, America could not fail to note the 36-percent increase in the national homicide rate since that mournful afternoon in Minneapolis.
Three rivers of angst flow out of Memorial Day 2021, and it is possible to imagine how they will meet later this year and join in a mighty flood of woe over the country. The first is the toxic stream of Wokery saturating just about every institution in the USA from the armed services, to the DOJ, to education both public and private, to organized sports, to the corporate C suites and, of course, to the transmission of current events in news and social media.
Despite the torrents of mendacious narratives and fogs of gaslight deployed in this campaign, a substantial chunk of the public resists suffocation and has finally begun to fight back, especially at the grass roots local level against the dogma-driven school boards out to cancel Western Civ. Expect this to ramp up as the spring semester closes out and the schools must set the terms for resuming classes in the fall. The kids themselves are bucking the mask mandates while the parents tangle with the more vexing problems of Woke racist curricula and insane sexual propaganda. It’s going to get ugly.
Another stream of angst is the River of Covid-19. The tide has just turned on the question of where it came from, namely, the Wuhan Lab, but it’s hard to game-out both what we might do about that concerning the CCP’s role in it — plus, the roles of Dr. Fauci and our own National Institutes of Health — and whether the depraved administration of China Joe Biden can even acknowledge the facts. That is to say: the whole sorry episode looks like an act-of-war but carried out with America’s foolish willing collaboration.
But then a whole raft of really deadly additional questions overrides even the quandary of who’s responsible, and I refer to the future course of the disease itself, whether another wave comes back, what new variants might emerge, and the extremely spooky issue of what the long-term effects of the experimental vaccines might be. Since the news media is so untrustworthy, and these are such troubling threats, it will be very hard to locate the truth about the medical concerns.
There’s a ton of rogue commentary on the Internet about all this, and a lot of it comes from legitimate and credible doctors. But the highest official US medical authorities are crippled for now and the public is left to sort out what’s real and what’s not on our own. An aggravating factor is that so many people have been roped into taking the vaxes that they might not want to even hear about any serious problems discovered with them. One extremely worrying narrative lately surfaced is the idea that Covid-19 itself wasn’t the prime bio-weapon deployed against the world, but rather the vaccines will deliver more death than the disease. Not saying I subscribe to that theory, but it’s out there to chew on.
The third stream of angst is the big muddy river of economy-and-finance. For the moment, it’s the one drawing the least attention because the equity markets continue levering up-up-up reassuringly on ZIRP and the gold market goes mostly sideways, and Bitcoin dances up and down like the jester it is. The unemployment numbers are still grim, along with the perverse effect of jobs going unfilled due to federal relief packages. A lot of businesses wiped out by the lockdowns just aren’t coming back, and despite all the “liquidity” sloshing around stocks and bonds, there isn’t much capital really available for people who went bankrupt and need it to start up anything again. Lurking in the background to all this is the surreal government spending of “money” created from up the Federal Reserve’s wazoo, a Ponzi scheme for the ages that shows signs of ending as all Ponzis due: in ruin. Only in this case for an entire nation. We’ll end up either with no money or plenty of worthless money. Take your pick.
For the moment one can only observe that that the fiscal management of the Biden admin looks like just about the most reckless and clueless of any regime in US history. All of a sudden, a $10-trillion annual budget, including all the special “rescue” plans? Come on, man…. The deluge from this river of angst might easily overtake the rising waters of the other two as we stand watching on the levee of summertime. Just offstage of all this is the quirky playing-out of 2020 election audits. Gawd knows what the nation will do when faced with genuine proof that Mr. Biden is in office less than legitimately. That’ll bring on the equivalent of a five-hundred-year flood, fer sure, when angst turns to real misery.

Regarding Covid angst ….
While only at 40% capacity, and no infield activities, it was still nice to see 130,000 mostly unmasked racing enthusiasts — Neanderthals, one and all — at this year’s Indy500.
Walking through the infield was always a highlight of Indy. Most years I went, it was much better than the race itself.
Likewise, at the Kentucky Derby, TN.
No fancy hats down among the infield blue collar racing fans of the thoroughbreds,
and observing other people could be somewhat entertaining,
especially when mint juleps are flowing freely and the Spring sun
is warm enough that some of the gals like to reveal their charms among the herd.
But, that was years ago.
I would imagine nowadays, the bourbon juice heads act a little more rambunctious.

I sort of feel sorry for those people at the Indianapolis 500. They spend all that time and money and fight the crowds to go watch something that is about as interesting as standing on a freeway overpass and watching the cars go by. I’m glad that my life isn’t as devoid of interesting things to do as their lives obviously are.
The freeway overpass has moar excitement in many cases, both as participant and spectator, particularly in really vibrant locales.
I actually do occasionally stand on a freeway overpass and watch the cars go by below for a little while. It is interesting to wonder about who the occupants of the cars are, and where they are going. But at a car race (including stock car racing) there isn’t even anything to wonder about. You already know who is in the car and where they are going.

If the Three Gorges Dam is completely collapsed, more than 10 billion cubic meters of reservoir water will be released in a short time, and the coast between the dam site and Shashi City will be directly impacted by flood waves, resulting in serious disaster losses. The Gezhouba Dam water conservancy project will be severely damaged, and Yichang is flooded in the area below the railway line, and the embankment of Zhicheng, the upper and lower Dizhou and the Jing Jiang flood areas will be flooded by the embankment of the West Bank of the West. The maximum flow rate of the dam break peak will reach 100 – 2 million 370 thousand cubic meters per second. The flood peak will reach the Gezhouba Dam water control hub at 100 km per hour. The flood peak will still reach 310 thousand cubic meters per second, the flood damages the Gezhouba Dam dam and enters the city of Yichang. The flow rate in the Yichang city is still still. With 65 kilometers per hour and 4 to 5 hours after dam break, the water level of Yichang will reach 64 to 71 meters above sea level.
In 1998, the maximum flow of flood in the Yangtze River was 60 thousand cubic meters per second, and the flood peak presented here was 37 times that of its flood peak, and the speed of the flood peak was 100 kilometers per hour, the same as those on the freeway. Such a large volume of traffic, at such a high speed, is far more destructive than a few bombs that destroyed the Three Gorges dam. That is, the Gezhouba Dam water control project must be washed away under such a flow and speed. The average elevation of Yichang is less than 50 meters above sea level. When the flood level reaches 64-71 meters above sea level, Yichang city is 20 meters below water. Residents of Yichang had little chance to escape after the Three Gorges Dam burst because the flood peak reached Yichang half an hour after the dam burst. Only one city in Yichang will lose 500 thousand of its staff.
The external condition of dam break simulation is not selected at the most unfavorable moment, nor is it selected at a relatively unfavorable moment, but is deliberately selected under favorable conditions. The total reservoir capacity of the Three Gorges Reservoir is 39.3 billion cubic meters. When there are signs of war, the reservoir will discharge water for seven days to the safe water level. There is only 10 billion cubic meters of water in the reservoir. The natural flow rate of dam break is 60 thousand cubic meters per second, and the maximum discharge volume of dam break flood peak will reach 2 million 370 thousand cubic meters per second. The largest flood flow in the Yangtze River is 110 thousand cubic meters per second (1870), which is third in the world. The maximum flood flow of the former Soviet Lena river is 18. 90 thousand cubic meters per second (1967). The maximum flood flow of the Brazil AMA river is 370 thousand cubic meters (1953), and the flow of the Three Gorges dam break is 2. 370 thousand cubic meters per second is not an order of magnitude. The simulation model has not yet told people what is the concept of the 39 billion 300 million cubic meters of water in the Three Gorges reservoir when the water is filled and the natural water flow is 60 thousand cubic meters per second. What kind of catastrophe will the Yellow River suffer in a very short period of time?
Not only Yichang can not hold, Shashi can not hold, Jianghan plain can not hold, Wuhan can not hold, Beijing and Guangzhou, the Beijing Kowloon Railway also can not hold, the scope of the flood has been to Nanjing. In 1986, the Sichuan provincial CPPCC investigation group pointed out in the report that “once the war broke out, the Three Gorges dam must be the primary goal. If the dam was destroyed, the big cities in the middle and lower reaches of the dam were displaced, the consequences would be unimaginable.”
To put it simply, it is an unstoppable destruction of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River than the flood of tens of times of the flood of 98 years. Hong Feng arrives in Wuhan in 10 hours and in 1 days to Nanjing. Tens of tens of tens of meters of flood washed across building buildings, it is hard to imagine that people can escape from the sky. I’m afraid it’s hard to count how many people are drowning.
The Yangtze River Valley is the center of China’s elite gravity, with 38% water, 25% arable land, 40% grain, 33% cotton, 66% freshwater fish, and 350 million people. Do you understand this effect?
From a military point of view, the downstream area of the Three Gorges dam is China’s strategic power. According to the study of Yang Lang, a military commentator, the Three Gorges project is in a very critical and very sensitive position in the whole of China’s national defense. Once the dam breaks, both space and time will have a significant radiation impact on the whole national defense, and the effect of the disaster field is serious.
In the lower reaches of the Three Gorges Dam, the Central Plains of the Three Gorges have always been the battleground of the army, and now it is the main military place for China. There are forty-five percent of the Chinese group army, twenty percent of the armoured division, Thirty-eight percent of the infantry division, and one hundred percent of the airborne division. It is the strategic reserve force of China and the strategic mobile force of China. The elite is where it is. The strategic maneuvering force and reserve force were very passive by the huge dam failure of the Three Gorges dam. If the strategic mobile force is consumed by dam break floods, the result is very serious.

There is a vacation spot in NW Illinois called Lake Carroll in Carroll County. It is either man made or man enhanced. I have been intrigued about the Dammed Chicom Dam for years…and have done a great deal of research into it as is my way when I get hooked on a subject.
Spent well over 40 years as a business fraud investigator…I know how to be a dog with a bone.
They built it out of Godless pride and with lost humanistic hubris…and a now known faulty plan.
It is causing massive landslides, increasing earthquakes, and they didn’t attach the side that is buckling to the bedrock!
There is nothing they can do about any of what is going to bring it down, and when it goes the best 1/3rd of their country will be washed into the sea.
I wonder if that is why they made the weaponized virus play? They know they are living with a time bomb…and have no way to defuse it?
I also have a check in my spirit about it…a sense it is one day going to come into play…and when it goes China will be destroyed for decades…but the world supply chain will be slashed overnight as well.
Every being who is human on the planet will be eventually affected.
