What war is is almost lost to living memory in the West. Supporting war is no different to supporting their favorite ball-team. They are not involved, have no skin in the game, but will support “their team” simply because it is their team and their mates do.
It’s easy for Americans to support war-they haven’t suffered losses on a scale the rest of the world has. Have any population centers in the U.S. ever been firebombed? Tank battles on the scale of the Kurst engagement been fought here? Entire cities put under siege for over a year? People reduced to eating bread made from flour mill floor sweepings mixed with sawdust? Towns and villages reduced to rubble and the entire populations of those places either killed or taken as prisoner? No? But the town of Goleta on California’s Central Coast was shelled by a Jap sub! An oilfield suffered $500 worth of damage! The horror!
Those who have served in the military know war, but the general population has no clue–it’s all ‘rah-rah get those (insert the current boogie man here)!

I hate these stats. Weaker currencies always have higher purchasing power parity when you visit that country. The G 7 combined also has less then 1 billion people. Also, look at how the bankrupt South Africa is rising. Also, notice the flow of migration of the world population.

If you placed South Africa, Russia and Brazil’s lines underneath the lines representing China and India, it would expose that only China and India are experiencing growth.
