Welfare Cash for Weed in Colorado

Recipients are withdrawing thousands in cash at pot dispensaries, and Republicans want to stop it.

For the past six months, welfare beneficiaries in Colorado have repeatedly withdrawn their cash benefits at marijuana retailers and dispensaries, according to a new analysis by National Review Online. Such apparent abuses have caught the eye of Colorado’s executive and legislative powers alike, and the state has launched an effort to curb them.

At least 259 times in the first six months of legalized recreational marijuana in Colorado, beneficiaries used their electronic-benefit transfer (EBT) cards to access public assistance at weed retailers and dispensaries, withdrawing a total of $23,608.53 in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) cash, NRO’s examination found.

In 2012, the latest fiscal year available, Colorado used $124 million in TANF money from the federal government, according to the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities. Withdrawals at marijuana establishments represented only a tiny fraction of the more than 500,000 total EBT transactions that have occurred since recreational weed became legal in Colorado on January 1. And it’s impossible to determine how much of that welfare money actually was used to buy pot, given that cash benefits are fungible and some of these establishments also sell groceries.

Nevertheless, welfare withdrawals at weed stores are coming under increasing scrutiny, and Colorado’s legislators and bureaucrats are beginning an effort to restrict abuses.

On July 11, the Colorado State Board of Human Services passed an emergency rule, effective immediately, restricting the use of TANF funds at marijuana shops, bars, liquor stores, gambling establishments, and other potentially inappropriate venues.

The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS), which oversees the TANF program, has begun to convene a task force on apparent misuse of cash benefits, joining with other state agencies to work out the details of enforcement, including how to monitor transactions, what constitutes wrongful usage, and whether withdrawals at medical-marijuana dispensaries should be considered a potential abuse of welfare money.

Todd Jorgensen, deputy director of the CDHS Office of Economic Security, says: “For the first time in Colorado, the rule will allow us to deactivate an EBT card if we identify misuse. . . . The department takes the appropriate use of TANF funds very seriously.”

As the first state in the nation to allow recreational marijuana, Colorado is trailblazing such restrictions. Though federal law requires states to limit the use of cash benefits at liquor stores, gambling establishments, and adult-entertainment stores, it does not explicitly address marijuana retailers or dispensaries.

Last session, some Colorado legislators attempted to pass a bill banning TANF withdrawals at marijuana establishments, but Democrats blocked it. The state’s Republicans did succeed, however, in passing a budget amendment that would preclude such use. Because of a legislative technicality, however, the amendment “doesn’t have the power and teeth behind it that a statute does,” says Colorado Springs representative Dan Nordberg, one of the key proponents of the ban. Republican lawmakers plan to re-introduce stronger legislation next session.

The more I’ve thought about potential solutions to the gigantic mess we have found ourselves in as a species, the more I have come to believe we need to break apart into a vast multitude of city-states. The revolutionary concept of America in the first place was this idea of “self-governance,” something we do not posses an iota of in this day and age. As was noted recently in an academic paper published by Princeton and Northwestern, these United States have mutated into nothing short of an oligarchy. In fact, the study demonstrated that the will of the people has essentially zero impact on legislation whatsoever.

In centuries prior, the idea of “representative-democracy” in which people elect people to represent their interests in a far off capital seemed like a reasonable solution to a very real problem. Information took a very long time to get from one place to another, so you had to trust someone else to essentially negotiate for you on issues of national significance. Moreover, in such a disconnected world, centralization was not only more efficient, it seemed like the only way. As such, things became highly centralized, so much so that things have now morphed into a global oligarchy that wields almost total power. Meanwhile, the billions of plebs have no say whatsoever in the affairs that govern their lives; including whether they will be financially secure, posses any civil liberties at all or end up in jail for a wide litany of non-violent “crimes.”

With the incredible tools we now possess, thanks primarily to the Internet, we no longer need centralization of government. Nor do we really need representatives to vote for us on the issues that most greatly affect out lives. As any American understands, the diversity of cultural, economic, and political sentiments vary greatly throughout the land. It’s not just the obvious ones, such as the differences between “northerners” and “southerners,” but wide discrepancies exists within states themselves. For example, Austin is nothing like much of the rest of Texas, and the Denver/Boulder area where I live is very distinct from much of the rest of Colorado. The examples are simply too many to list, but I am of the belief that people are capable of, and should be free to, decide the most important things that affect their lives at a local level (with the exception of obvious things such as violence or aggression toward one another).

The founding fathers’ original idea of many “United States” allowed for different ideals to be expressed in a wide variety of ways, and is in my opinion one of the most advantageous attributes of our nation. But why stop there? Why not allow different areas and municipalities break off even further into far more autonomous type structures than we have today?

Of course many people will answer, what about slavery? The truth of the matter is that this abomination in the United States seemingly had to be resolved through a bloody conflict given the economic interests in the south at the time. The founders decided one war was enough, and let this horrible practice be tackled almost a hundred years later through violent conflict. I hope that we have advanced enough as a species that we can come to a global consensus that certain things are illegal everywhere. Slavery, murder, rape, etc. Other than these (and other) obvious evils we can all agree on, decentralized legislation seems to make sense to me in this day and age. While I strongly disagree with “global government” a global consensus on certain things we can all agree upon as reprehensible anywhere on earth seems completely reasonable.

With that in mind, the man who recently purchased the entire 30,000 Silk Road Bitcoins from the feds has proposed to break California into six separate parts. The measure has already collected “far more than the 800,000 signatures” needed to to get it on the state ballot.

Like Hollywood or Manhattan, Silicon Valley occupies a singular place on the American cultural and economic landscape. Unlike those other locales, however, the Valley’s more idiosyncratic political leanings have led to murmurings of secession more typical of rural hinterlands that already feel cut off through sheer physical isolation. That chatter has culminated in a measure that appears headed for the statewide ballot to split California into six separate states, of which Silicon Valley would be one.

While ostensibly a plan to make the entire state of 38 million people more governable, the six-state initiative is being led and funded by a member of the Silicon Valley elite, many of whom would no doubt welcome the increased political clout that would likely come from carving out their own statehood. In the hands of most, the six-state initiative would look like a pure stunt. But with Silicon Valley behind it, this effort’s chances at the ballot box can’t be dismissed out of hand. Unlike most other would-be revolutionaries, Silicon Valley has a long record of taking ideas that sound outlandish at the time—affordable computers in every home, private rocket ships—and managing to make them real. It also has a seemingly endless stream of money that, combined with heavy doses of ingenuity and shamelessness, give its goofball ideas the fuel they need to take off.

Leading the six-state push is Tim Draper, a wealthy third-generation venture capitalist known for his theatrics. He hosts the superhero-themed Draper University of Heroes, a kind of motivational cram session for would-be startup entrepreneurs, and once wore a Captain America costume himself on a magazine cover. Last month, he bought nearly 30,000 bitcoins auctioned off by the U.S. Marshals Service after authorities had seized them from online black market Silk Road. In short, he’s exactly the kind of guy with the time, money, and temperament to push a wacky-sounding ballot measure.

“Our gift to California is this—it’s one of opportunity and choice,” Draper said at a press conference yesterday where he announced the campaign had collected far more than 800,000 signatures needed to get the measure on the ballot. “We’re saying, make one failing government into six great states.”

The campaign in favor of the measure argue that six states will mean six state governments more responsive to local concerns, rather than the unwieldy process of orchestrating the state’s 158,000 square miles entirely from Sacramento.

With the six-state proposal, the Californian Ideology appears to be seeking out its final, fullest, most ironic realization by underwriting Silicon Valley’s emancipation from California itself.

And why wouldn’t Silicon Valley seek to be free? Through the lens of its own sensibility, at least, California looks like the worst kind of incumbent, an ancient and inefficient institution mired in old ways of doing business, a monopolist that holds onto power through manipulation, not innovation. To six-state supporters, holding onto the idea of a single California represents, at best, an irrational sentimentality, a commitment to the past grounded in lazy logic and unexamined assumptions. Breaking up California is exactly the kind of “disruption” that titillates the venture capitalist imagination. In the process, the new state of Silicon Valley—which would stretch from San Francisco to Monterey–would also, conveniently, separate its great and greatly concentrated wealth from the poorer parts of the state.

The Valley’s “hacker way” has so far proven a clumsy fit for the strategic complexity of the political process, which relies more on realism than idealism. Before California would officially break up, per the U.S. Constitution, the existing state legislature would still have to sign off, which it’s unlikely to do for a host of reasons, not least being the tax revenue lost to Silicon Valley seceding. Congress would also have to approve what would amount to the dilution of its own power by granting California twelve senators instead of the current two.

At this point, I’d like to make it clear I don’t think this will become a reality in the near-term. In fact, it is likely that decentralization will first occur in the economic and technological areas of human society way before it happens on the political level. The reasons for this should be obvious.

We are already seeing decentralization take over in all sorts of economic areas. Information flow in general and alternative media specifically, currency (Bitcoin), transportation (Uber, Lyft), and manufacturing (3D-printing). When the political process fully implodes in the West, we’ll look to decentralized successes in other areas and apply them to politics.

I believe the current overly centralized paradigm parasitically engulfing the planet will experience a series of spectacular collapses in the years ahead that will make 2008 look like practice. As the centralized beast episodically implodes upon itself, we will have a historic chance to remake our world in a new way that will better serve humanity. That new paradigm will consist of freedom through decentralization, and I can’t wait to see it.

In fact, it’s already started.

IS FREE CLEAN WATER IN DETROIT REALLY A HUMAN RIGHT?

The moochers in Detroit are learning the hard way what happens when they have no more money from other people to sustain them. The bankrupt city of Detroit has begun shutting off water and sewer to tens of thousands who have not paid their water bills for months.

Predictably, those facing shut-offs are protesting in the streets (they certainly don’t have jobs) of Detroit screaming “Fight, fight, water is a human right.” But is free water really a right? If water is a human right, isn’t free food? And free housing? And free transportation? How about free cell phones? And free money to buy the latest Air Jordans? Do the mooching classes of a rapidly decaying bankrupt city have a human right to all these things? Because for generations, they’ve been taught by liberals that all these comforts and necessities are their right as long as they vote for Democrats. But these goods and services don’t appear magically. Someone has to pay for them.

Margaret Thatcher famously said, “The trouble with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.” Detroit is there and other black-run, Democrat dominated American cities are following close behind. Also a few cracka run socialist utopias in California, too.

Here’s some bad news for the Obama mooching classes. It’s not Obama money. The conveniences you have mooched for generations were paid for by producers in the private sector. In fact, that wealth taken from producers still isn’t enough to cover America’s expenses. America has borrowed/printed $85 billion each month since 2008 to keep the Obama Circus going. And the show is just about over.

Here’s some more bad news for the Obama mooching classes. If you haven’t noticed, brown is the new blackss for Democrats. Your King Obama cares a whole lot more for the brown hordes he’s bringing illegally to America. He no longer needs black people because the Democrats already own all of your votes. He needs to create more mooching classes for more Democrat votes. And what people better than those from Third World countries (Detroit, Birmingham, Baltimore, Philly, etc notwithstanding) to shower with freebies paid for by the dwindling number of American producers? In their countries, you either work or starve so Obama’s Mooching Plan is just too juicy to withstand. So better get used to those ObamaPhones being turned off in the near future. They will be replaced with ObamaCelulares.

Actually, there is as much free water for Detroit Moochers that they can use very close by. Lake Michigan is huge and contains billions of gallons of water just for the taking. Just take the public transportation as close to Lake Michigan as it runs and fill up your jugs. Be sure to boil and purify the water before you drink it or use it for cooking. As for sewer services, poor Americans for generations used outhouses for those purposes. I suggest you use the local Democrat Party office bathrooms while they’re still open. The line starts 10 blocks back.

Oh, you want clean water to come out of your spigot? Well, there’s a cost for that. Responsible people pay for the luxury of water and sewer in their houses. Those treatment plants, water pipes and the people employed to maintain them cost money. And there’s no more other people’s money left to spend in Detroit. The producers loaded up their cars (not public transportation) and fled your socialist, racist hellhole long ago. Get used to it. You caused it and you deserve it!

I don’t feel sorry for the mooching class in America but I do pity them. They are worthless and totally dependent on the hard work of responsible producers for their sustenance. And these large black-run, Democrat controlled municipalities have literally killed the Golden Goose who made all the mooching possible.

So all you Detroit moochers who want free water maybe should go to 99%er Michael the Hutt Moore’s one bedroom, 20 kitchen mansion for free water and bathrooms. But he’s a phony and wouldn’t let you lick the box of his most recent Sara Lee cheesecake. So you better start moving down to Lake Michigan. And be careful what you pull out of the lake. That might not be a real brown trout!

Move out? Millennials should live with their parents as long as possible

It’s time to cut the millennials some slack.

It’s supposed to be terrible news that more people in their 20s and 30s are living at home with their parents. Pew Research, for instance, just reported that a record 57 million Americans — about 18% of the population — live in multigenerational households. The main reason for that is a sharp increase in the number of 25-to-34-year-olds crowding into the family abode with their parents and grandparents.

This “boomerang generation,” needless to say, is the target of much scorn over its slow start in life and its apparent aversion to independence. They’re also causing considerable anxiety among homebuilders, automakers, appliance manufacturers and many other companies that rely on a steady flow of U.S. consumers spending every last dollar on things prior generations considered indispensable.

Yet we should reexamine our assumptions about millennials, generally considered to be Americans born between the early 1980s and the early 2000s. We’re programmed to consider robust consumer spending the ultimate indicator of a healthy economy. If spending is down, something must be wrong. So alerts are going off as millennials bank what money they can instead of spending it on rent, cars and the endless filler items that tend to devour your paycheck when you live on your own.

Foolish? That’s actually shrewd. Good financial advisors urge people to save as much of their income as they can, so they can invest it, apply it toward a nest egg and set something aside for a rainy day. Yet Americans in general are terrible at this. The overall savings rate is a paltry 5% or so. That’s considered high, since it dropped near zero as recently as 2005. One reason so many Americans got swamped during the recent recession is they thought home equity and stock-market holdings were the same as savings, only to learn those “savings” can plummet in value.

Millennials obviously have reason to be frugal. The unemployment rate is highest among the youngest, while it’s far below average for people over 35. Older workers have been holding onto jobs longer and retiring later, slowing the rate of turnover throughout the labor force and leaving fewer openings for younger workers. Meanwhile, the total amount of student loan debt has skyrocketed during the past decade and now tops $1.1 trillion. Many recent college grads can’t find jobs that pay enough to cover rent and student loan payments both.

Living at home obviously allows young, struggling workers to pay off bills, get out of debt and make a meaningful contribution to the economy, at some point. So what if it lowers the household formation rate? So what if Ford (F) and GM (GM) don’t hit their sales targets for hipstermobiles? So what if Home Depot (HD) and Lowe’s (L) end up with excess inventory of light fixtures and vanities? Instead of griping, maybe all the companies desperate to crack open millennial wallets should feel reassured that the future spenders of America are doing something to right their finances.

There are other signs the millennials aren’t as bumbling as popular opinion suggests. Although data clearly show a spike in the percentage of young adults living with their parents, the Census Bureau surveys from which those numbers come count students living on college campuses as “living at home,” as the Atlantic recently pointed out. The latest Pew report excluded such students from its count of multigenerational homes, but most media reports about the boomerang generation lump the two groups together without pointing that out. That exaggerates the portion of millennials who ought to be self-supporting but aren’t.

There’s also some recent data suggesting millennials are starting to move out in larger numbers. Jed Kolko, chief economist at the real estate website Trulia, told Yahoo Finance recently that Trulia’s data shows a 0.9% increase in the percentage of 18-to-34-year-olds who bought a home in 2013. He’s more worried about a falling homeownership rate among strapped middle-aged consumers than among the young.

Living standards during the past decade or so have fallen more than at any time since the 1930s, which means the millennialls face challenges their parents and grandparents didn’t. It’s not reasonable to expect them to hit life’s big milestones at the same pace as their parents. They’ll move out eventually, and when they do, they’ll have something to show for the extra time they spent at home.

Obama’s America an ‘Unfunded Charity’ for Illegals to Overrun

On Saturday, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin accused President Barack Obama of knowingly allowing turning American into an “unfunded charity” for illegal immigrants to invade and overrun.

Referring to Obama as “the DREAMweaver,” Palin said when Congress declined to pass amnesty legislation, Obama “waved his magic wand” and enacted his own.

“And that created the current crisis as illegals are pouring in to collect what he illegally promised them,” Palin said at the Western Conservative Summit in Colorado. “If Obama won’t obey the law and secure the borders, it’s not immigration, it’s invasion.”

Nearly 60,000 illegal immigrant children have flooded across the border since October of last year, and the number of illegal immigrant children unlawfully entering the country drastically spiked since Obama unilaterally enacted his Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in 2012 while the murder rate in Central American nations declined during the same period. There have been nearly 60,000 illegal immigrants who have entered the country since October of last year. Federal officials expect at least 150,000 more in the next fiscal year, and Palin said “America the unfunded charity” will be “overrun” with illegals.

Municipalities from Virginia to California have expressed serious concerns about how they can afford to pay to take care of illegal immigrant children that the Obama administration — often without advance notice — is dumping in their communities.

Palin also warned that gangsters and terrorists “will be mixed in there” with illegal immigrants coming across the border and it was “insane” to expect municipalities across the country that are already “stretched to the max” to take care of all of the illegal immigrant children. Breitbart Texas has been reporting that some of the world’s most dangerous gangs are using detention centers to recruit new members. And this week, Breitbart Texas reported that an illegal immigrant who came to the country with children and was released from a detention center in June with a “notice to appear” was arrested for murder.

To make matters worse, Palin said that the “forgotten man” who cannot catch a break will now see their tax dollars go to help take care of illegal immigrants while they are forced to compete with them for shrinking resources and jobs.

She asked Democrats whether they support the Obama Doctrine, which she said was: ‘Break the law, get a reward.” Palin said Obama’s “incentives are invitations” and the illegal immigration crisis will “get worse” if the Obama administration does not take border security more seriously.

Though the Obama administration has gone on a public relations blitz to convince migrants from Central America not to make the journey to America, illegal immigrants have told Border Patrol agents that the Obama administration’s actions and words led them to believe that they will not be deported if they got across the border.

Why Liberal Attacks on Gun Nuts Will Lose a Culture War

Watching liberal activists circle and poke at the National Rifle Association and even more extreme gun-rights groups reminds me of bear baiting. Except in this version of the spectacle, the bear wins. Two current examples from my e-mail in-box:

• Ted Nugent spews crazy, racist venom, Media Matters has learned. At this late date, what sentient American citizen doesn’t know that the over-the-hill rocker and NRA director has a screw loose? Don’t get me wrong. The man is noxious. I’ve sat in the audience at NRA pep rallies as he intersperses ear-splitting electric guitar solos with spitting-angry rants about nonexistent conspiracies to take away his Glock pistols. In one recent dispatch, Media Matters breathlessly informed me that Nugent wrote a column for the paranoiac WND website in which he discussed how “the squawking poor just keep getting poorer, and as is always the case, they have no one to blame but themselves. Stupid is as stupid does.” In another alert, Media Matters noted a Nugent column opining that President Barack Obama’s election represented “the worst case of racism I have ever witnessed in my lifetime.” Insightful stuff.

• Larry Pratt has scary ideas about firearms. Rolling Stone this week published a fascinating profile of the head of Gun Owners of America, which opposes any regulation whatsoever of firearms. The piece has been zealously embraced by activists such as Mark Kelly, husband of shooting survivor Gabby Giffords, the former Arizona congresswoman. Kelly, co-founder with Giffords of Americans for Responsible Solutions, condemned Pratt for his assertions that widespread civilian ownership of firearms provides a check against the forces of tyranny. Pratt’s perspective becomes all the more troubling when one learns that he has written an essay, “What Does the Bible Say About Gun Control,” in which he asserted the following: “If Christ is not our King, we shall have a dictator to rule over us.” Connect the dots and Pratt seems to be insinuating that he favors overthrow of non-theocratic government.

I agree that it’s shameful that the NRA tolerates, let alone promotes, a nut like Nugent. I also agree that Pratt represents a dangerous strain of religiously based insurrectionism that runs through some fringes of American society. What I question is whether the gun-control movement should intermingle calls for modest regulatory changes—limits on ammunition magazine capacity, for example—with engagement in a broader (and ultimately futile) culture war that the likes of Nugent and Pratt relish.

An alternate approach, strangely eschewed by the gun-control movement, would frame calls for additional regulation as an element of smart anti-crime policy. Such an argument would go like this: Let’s try policy X to address the problem of crime Y. The argument would be supported by social science and testimony from law enforcement officials.

Or gun-control advocates could frame an anti-crime argument this way: Over the past quarter-century, many large cities, such as New York, have sharply reduced violent crime, including gun crime. What has changed in New York, and how can those changes be replicated in other places?

The reason that advocates on both sides of the debate prefer to hurl ad hominem invective and invoke conspiracy theories, I suspect, is that such appeals are a good way to rouse the faithful—and to raise money. Ted Nugent and Larry Pratt learned that lesson a long time ago and they stick by it.

Liberals who fight on their foes’ preferred rhetorical battleground may get some fellow-thinkers to open their checkbooks. But since pro-gun enthusiasts tend to hew to their positions with greater intensity, culture war favors the NRA and Pratt’s Gun Owners of America. Bear baiting doesn’t advance the search for policies likely to reduce street crime—or prevent the next mass shooting by a suicidal 20-year-old determined to express his rage by destroying a batch of innocents, along with himself.

Generating Racial Awareness in Generation Meme

While I’ve lamented about millennials aplenty, I’m not about to throw in the towel on them. Rather, like a good marketer, I feel we must simply change our game to meet the idiosyncrasies of our youngest generation.

These are kids raised on ubiquitous advertising, DVRs, and social media, with its constant flow of ephemeral and pithy (and often mindless) 160-character-maximum posts.

They’re also the “meme generation”—constantly communicating in, and relating moments of their lives to, not scenes from Seinfeld or skits from SNL, but to little odd, crudely illustrated and often humorous images with some text slapped on them.

And, lastly, they have been brainwashed from birth to believe that multiculturalism and “diversity” are both good and inevitable, and that therefore resistance is not only futile, but also thoroughly evil.

Given the lack of attention span, combined with a reflexive dismissal of anything smacking of healthy racial self-interest, the meme’s delivery of meaning in bite-sized bursts of image and text might be one of the more effective way of planting heretical thoughts into the heads of these youngsters.

Also, I think it would be good to have a URL on the images that people can go to to get further information that helps combat the endless anti-white propaganda being continually pumped out by the Liberal Establishment. DIVIDE AND CONQUER: IS AMERICA BECOMING A WHITE CONCENTRATION CAMP?

Buchanan writes that America was built on a premise of a connected people, all speaking the same language, having the same religion, and with the same values and ideals:

John Jay wrote in 1787, “Providence has been pleased to give this one connected country to one united people – a people descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government, very similar in their manners and customs. … ”

No mention of ‘diversity’ or ‘multiculturalism’ or poly-religion/atheism. The American founders cherished their unity, commonality and sameness of ancestry, culture, faith and traditions.

Even when America brought in immigrants from 1845 to 1924, they then stopped immigration in 1924, and from 1925 to 1965 ensured that the immigrant population assimilated into American culture. Children born were born into American traditions, and in the schools they were taught American language, literature and history, and celebrated American holidays and heroes.

Then came the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, promoted by Senator Ted Kennedy, and all that made America great as a nation was changed forever. That immigration act forced America to diversify who was coming in as immigrants – and non-White immigration was promoted ahead of immigrants from the ethnic population already living in the USA – White Europeans.

Since 1968, 85% of legal immigrants have come from what is euphemistically called “developing countries.”

And as most of these new immigrants arrive with no skills, but lots of needs, the American welfare state was born and has ballooned.

Then came the civil rights movement, with Blacks wanting more respect without earning it, and shouting about ‘equality’. And they’re still shouting about wanting respect and equality – very few having earned it.

Then came the Marxists, who used all this ‘diversity’ and division to push their new Socialist/Communist never-realised Utopia. They could NEVER have achieved all they have achieved in America today had Americans remained unified and true to their history.

Obama is a disciple of one of these Marxists – Saul Alinsky.

Marxists use division and victim groups to destroy communities and societies. Once the once satisfied communities have been indoctrinated to become dissatisfied, it’s then easier to break them down and build them up in the Marxist ideology.

Or, as Obama warned, fundamentally transform the country.

The only problem is that Karl Marx never quite told his revolutionaries what to do once they’d won, to reach the Utopia he promised. Have a look at North Korea, Cuba and even Zimbabwe, and you’ll see Marxist societies which are developmentally retarded and the people impoverished. Only the elites live the good life.

Or, if you want to compare apples to apples, during the Cold War, look how Western Europe thrived under Western Capitalism, and Eastern Europe (under the USSR) barely survived under the communist model.

Now, sadly, Europe is embracing Socialism and destroying itself…. while Russia is embracing Capitalism and becoming wealthy and free – because they didn’t quite like what Communism brought them.

The Democrats have worked tirelessly to divide and conquer America – by importing hostile cultures, trashing American history and traditions, and forming various victim groups, from the poor, to Blacks, to Gays, to women’s rights.

And this is where America is now at – a divided and almost balkanised country – where all the “diverse” groups congregate in their ghetto’s and moan about their unfair lives in a once great nation.

And don’t think that America is alone in falling for the “diversity is strength” rubbish that our resident Lefties push down our throats. No – EVERY White nation has been destroyed by this lie.

And as the hundreds of thousands – if not millions – of indigent, low-skilled, low-IQ, non-English speaking, diseased 3rd world’ers stream over the open border, into the USA from Central America, to further diversify America – just remember that they’re bringing what they had there, to here, and soon here will look like there.

A school bus of illegal immigrants reportedly pulled up at a Walmart in North Carolina and shopped with EBT cards. The woman in the video says the immigrants could not speak English and were reportedly staying in China Grove.

Sylvia Locklear was on her lunch break Sunday afternoon around 1:30 p.m. when she noticed something strange happening in the parking lot of Walmart in Concord, NC – there was busloads of what appeared to be adult illegal immigrants being dropped off to shop for everything from food to pillows and blankets. Angered by her discovery, Sylvia decided she was going to investigate a little further, and what she found should outrage every American citizen.

In the video above, Sylvia can be heard talking to another person who presumably was curious about what was going on, so she explained to them that prior to taking the video she had tried to talk to the people on the bus. Not only could they barely speak English, but one of them had said they had just arrived in America.

We all know that this has been happening, however, the sheriff of her town had said that they weren’t allowing any illegals to be shipped in, so it would appear as if the Obama regime is once again placing undue burdens on the states and not even letting them know what’s going on. What’s worse is that in the comments under the video she posted to Facebook, Sylvia said that when she was in line behind them that they were using government-issued EBT cards to pay for their purchases.

Pat Buchanan cites ways ‘diversity’ has harmed United States

Speaking to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Albuquerque in 2001, George W. Bush declared that, as Mexico was a friend and neighbor, “It’s so important for us to tear down our barriers and walls that might separate Mexico from the United States.”

Bush succeeded. And during his tenure, millions from Mexico exploited his magnanimity to violate our laws, trample upon our sovereignty, walk into our country and remain here.

In 2007, supported by John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Teddy Kennedy and Barack Obama, Bush backed amnesty for the 12 million people who had entered America illegally.

The nation thundered no. And Congress sustained the nation.

The latest mass border crossing by scores of thousands of tots, teenagers and toughs from Central America has killed amnesty in 2014, and probably for the duration of the Obama presidency.

Indeed, with the massive media coverage of the crisis on the border, immigration, legal and illegal, and what it portends for our future, could become the decisive issue of 2014 and 2016.

But it needs to be put in a larger context. For this issue is about more than whether the Chamber of Commerce gets amnesty for its members who have been exploiting cheap illegal labor.

The real issue: Will America remain one nation, or are we are on the road to Balkanization and the breakup of America into ethnic enclaves? For, as Ronald Reagan said, a nation that cannot control its borders isn’t really a nation anymore.

They came later. From 1845-1849, the Irish fleeing the famine. From 1890-1920, the Germans. Then the Italians, Poles, Jews and other Eastern Europeans. Then, immigration was suspended in 1924.

From 1925 to 1965, the children and grandchildren of those immigrants were assimilated, Americanized. In strong public schools, they were taught our language, literature and history, and celebrated our holidays and heroes. We endured together through the Depression and sacrificed together in World War II and the Cold War.

By 1960, we had become truly one nation and one people.

America was not perfect. No country is. But no country ever rivaled what America had become. She was proud, united, free, the first nation on earth. And though the civil rights movement had just begun, nowhere did black peoples enjoy the freedom and prosperity of African-Americans.

Our society seems to be disintegrating. Over 40 percent of all births now are illegitimate. Among Hispanics, the figure is 52 percent. Among African-Americans, 73 percent.

And among children born to single moms, the drug use rate and the dropout rate, the crime rate and the incarceration rate, are many times higher than among children born to married parents.

If a country is a land of defined and defended borders, within which resides a people of a common ancestry, history, language, faith, culture and traditions, in what sense are we Americans one nation and one people today?

Neocons say we are a new kind of nation, an ideological nation erected upon a written Constitution and Bill of Rights.

But equality, democracy and diversity are not mentioned in the Constitution. As for what our founding documents mean, even the Supreme Court does not agree.

More and more, 21st-century America seems to meet rather well Metternich’s depiction of Italy – “a geographic expression.”

Strikes us Holder wants it both ways: to play the race card against legitimate criticisms of the administration’s policies — while standing by when his liberal allies hurl ugly, undeniable racial invective against conservative blacks or Latinos.

Barack Obama passed himself off to be the ‘great healer,’ the ‘community organizer’ who knew how to get down and dirty to get the job done. He would supposedly use his skills as a community organizer to bring the nation together. In fact, he even assembled his own 501c4, whose tax exempt status was approved rather quickly by the IRS, called Organizing for Action. This group would work to push forward Obama’s agenda to fundamentally transform America using his Marxist-based platform. Although he grew up in Indonesia and in an affluent area of Hawaii, he would pass himself off as having ‘street cred’ due to his time as a community organizer in the inner city area of Chicago. If only America had paid attention to the legacy left behind by Obama in the Windy City.

Black residents of the south side of Chicago recently spoke with the blog Rebel Pundit about Obama’s horrendous legacy in Chicago, how he ultimately failed the black community there just as he is failing America. Children can’t play outside in their own neighborhoods. Areas are still run down. The black community was left without hope or any change after Obama was done with it. In fact, it’s gotten worse. They are still unemployed, under skilled, and in danger.

Fed up over Obama’s focus on and commitment of taxpayer dollars to assist those who have entered this country illegally, while simultaneously acting like black people don’t exist, residents of the south side of Chicago have spoken up. In addition, the massive influx of illegal aliens in the country due to the invasion condoned by the Obama administration will be detrimental to the employment opportunities for blacks.

In July alone, 120 people have been shot and 26 killed. Those are staggering numbers for a month only half way over. Paul McKinley, former black Republican candidate for the seat previously occupied by Jesse Jackson, Jr, says in the video, “Do something for our children. Have the same love for these young people like you have for the ones [illegals] who cross the border and you want to save them.”

Amidst the violence striking Chicago recently, black residents are voicing their opinions about Obama’s lack of compassion towards Chicago.

“Barack will go down as the worst president ever elected,” one man told Rebel Pundit. “Bill Clinton was the African-American President.”

Another resident compared the current state of black American life to that during slavery, saying, “Today, if you look at the time that we were brought here as slaves 400 years ago, we got the same results today.”

Another said that “We look like we live in Beirut somewhere, ambulance, fire department, and police running up and down the street, all inside our community.”

All these residents are asking, where is the president? We’re sorry, Chicago; he must be getting in a quick 18 holes somewhere.

Remember the arrogant 2012 bumper sticker based on Joe Biden’s boast at the DNC? “GM is alive. Bin Laden is dead. Any questions?”

Actually, I do have a question. Was Bin Laden driving GM’s Chevy Cobalt when he died?

It now appears that many American civilians with absolutely no connection to al-Qaeda have also become dead or injured while driving one of those small, fuel-efficient Chevrolet Cobalt, Pontiac G5, or Saturn Ion.

The Washington Post reports:

“An investigation into General Motors’ failure to recall millions of small cars containing a deadly ignition switch defect found a corporate culture in which employees failed to take responsibility for the problem, which has been linked to at least 13 deaths, said GM chief executive Mary T. Barra.”

This raises even more questions.

Notice the part about “a corporate culture in which employees failed to take responsibility for the problem.” Was it because the employees knew that they were too big to fail?

How many of them were members of the United Auto Workers? Obama had rewarded this labor union’s political shenanigans and donations to his campaign with 39 percent of General Motors. That alone should have taught the GM employees a lesson that real money comes, not from actual labor but from shady political dealings, and that honest work is for suckers.

General Motors waited more than a decade to recall their 2.6 million defective small cars worldwide. Obviously, the problem started long before the Obama administration decided to bail them out, thus rewarding bad behavior and costing Treasury a loss of roughly $10 billion.

That was yet another real-life lesson from which the GM employees could learn that withholding information is better than honest work, and that those who actually do honest work wind up paying for those who don’t. Now GM is going to establish a compensation program for the victims and their families. How much of that cost will be covered by a taxpayer-funded bailout?

And now for the final question. Using GM chief executive’s own language, who built that “corporate culture in which employees failed to take responsibility for the problem”?

According to her boss, the nation’s chief executive, no one in particular. In president Obama’s mind, businesses just happen to grow and develop their own cultures, like fungus. No one takes credit for a fungus culture; why should anyone take credit for a business culture? Whether you succeed or fail, the administration’s credo is, “You didn’t build that!”

GM officially confirms up to 13 deaths; trial lawyers are likely to raise the number to 60. Is that a fair cost of keeping GM alive? If so, how many lives and billions of taxpayer dollars will it take before the cost of this administration’s meddling with the economy becomes prohibitive? At what point will it stop being fair and become criminal?

Ayn Rand’s prophetic novel Atlas Shrugs has a chapter in which hundreds of people on a crowded train lose their lives because railroad employees have stopped taking responsibility for their actions. Their failure to take responsibility was a consequence of the nation’s new culture of “fairness” and “equality” that was being promoted by an intrusive “progressive” government. In a twist of dark irony, all the participants in the story were fully supportive of that “fair” culture – from the corrupt government officials to the cowardly railroad executives to the clueless passengers who never figured out what had doomed them to die in a smoke-filled tunnel.

It seems that today the Obama administration, the “progressive” politicians, the unions, and all their low-information supporters, many of whom are driving GM’s small, fuel-efficient cars, are writing an updated, real-life version of Atlas Shrugged, in which the story of General Motors is the latest contribution to this man-made dystopia.

So far this July 120 people have been shot and at least 26 killed in Chicago, And the month is not even halfway through. But they have a message for the worst president in the history of our nation….Enjoy…..

On the heels of John Kerry’s accusation that Russia’s behavior does not belong in the 21st century, Germany’s Angela Merkel has come out swining against the escalating spying scandal with the US (which saw allegations that the US had recruited two Germans to sell secrets this week). During an interview with ZDF, the German leader blasted “that we have different perceptions on the work of intelligence services,” adding that “we don’t live in the Cold War anymore.” The White House’s response, so far, a shrug of ‘business-as-usual’ from Josh Earnest; which fits with Merkel’s conclusion: “I think it’s not that easy to convince the Americans … to completely change the way their intelligence services work.”

As AP reports,

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is doubtful the U.S. will stop spying on Germany.

The chancellor said in an interview with public broadcaster ZDF “I think it’s not that easy to convince the Americans … to completely change the way their intelligence services work.”

Germany on Thursday demanded Washington’s top spy in Berlin leave the country as a new round of allegations of U.S. espionage worsened the friction between the two allies.

That move followed reports that U.S. intelligence had recruited two Germans — a man who worked at the country’s foreign intelligence agency and a defense ministry employee.

Asked whether she expected the Americans to change their behavior when it comes to spying on Germany, Merkel said “I can’t predict that, but certainly hope it will change.”

Topped off by her slamming Obama’s approach…

The past week’s clash over espionage shows “that we have different perceptions on the work of intelligence services,” Merkel says. “We don’t live in the Cold War anymore.”

On Friday, White House press secretary Josh Earnest appeared to indicate the U.S. believed the alleged spying between the allies was par for the course in comments to reporters.

“Allies with sophisticated intelligence agencies like the United States and Germany understand with some degree of detail exactly what those intelligence relationships and activities entail,” Earnest said.

“Any differences that we have are most effectively resolved through established private channels, not through the media. These private channels include regular discussions between intelligence officials, diplomatic officials, and national security officials from those two countries. So pursuing that dialogue through those channels is exactly what we’re doing.”

China Fears iPhone Is “Threat To National Security”

With threats and promises over cyber-crimes fleeting back and forth between the US and China, it appears – through the ‘back-channel’ of the nation’s state broadcaster CCTV – China has stepped it up once again. As AFP reports, China has accused US technology giant Apple of threatening national security through its iPhone’s ability to track and time-stamp a user’s location. While not exactly a ‘new feature’ of the phones, the timing of China’s public lambasting reflects the escalating mutual distrust between the US and China over the extent of cyber-espionage.

As AFP reports, Chinese state broadcaster CCTV has accused US technology giant Apple of threatening national security through its iPhone’s ability to track and time-stamp a user’s location.

The “frequent locations” function, which can be switched on or off by users, could be used to gather “extremely sensitive data”, and even state secrets, said Ma Ding, director of the Institute for Security of the Internet at People’s Public Security University in Beijing.

The tool gathers information about the areas a user visits most often, partly to improve travel advice. In an interview broadcast Friday, Ma gave the example of a journalist being tracked by the software as a demonstration of her fears over privacy.

“One can deduce places he visited, the sites where he conducted interviews, and you can even see the topics which he is working on: political and economic,” she said.

The frequent locations function is available on iOS 7, the operating system used by the current generation of iPhones released in September 2013.

We are a little surprised at the ignorance of this feature – which suggests the timing of the public broadcast is much more for propaganda purposes than actual fear of espionage…

“CCTV has only just discovered this?” said one incredulous Chinese microblogger.

The dispute is not the first time Apple has been embroiled in controversy in China, where its products are growing in popularity in a marketplace dominated by smartphones running Google’s Android operating system.

Apple lost a lawsuit against a Chinese state regulator over patent rights to voice recognition software such as the iPhone’s “Siri” just this week.

In March 2013 the Californian company was notably the target of criticism orchestrated by the Chinese media on behalf of consumers, who were critical of poor after-sales service.

And in 2012 the US firm paid $60 million to settle a dispute with another Chinese firm over the iPad trademark.

The privacy scare also reflects mutual distrust between the US and China after a series of allegations from both sides on the extent of cyber-espionage.

Leaks by former US government contractor Edward Snowden have alleged widespread US snooping on China, and this month it was reported Chinese hackers had penetrated computer networks containing personal information on US federal employees.

Apple did not immediately respond when contacted by AFP for comment.

He is doing everything he can do to create havoc in America, is vastly overextending the Constitutional authorities given to presidents, has circumvented Congress time and time again, and will do even more acts of treason and tyranny before November. It is all designed to provoke the House Republicans into impeaching him. There are a few reasons Obama is trying to force the Republicans into impeachment:

The Dims are in deep Dukakis in the upcoming November mid-term elections and they know it. Even with the incompetent corruptocrats running the Republican Party alienating their core conservative voters in the Tea Party, the Dims look to lose seats in the House and lose power in the Senate. Democrats need every one of their core voters (living, dead, and undead) to vote numerous times in November to stem the losses. There is no voting group more loyal to a political party than Blacks are to the Democrats. Democrats have alienated and lost millions of white voters due to Obama and his dereliction of office. Dims desperately need something to stir up the low-information black voters who will support Obama through any and everything because of his pigment. What works best to motivate black voters? Cries of racism. If the House Republicans impeach Obama, Democrats and their comrades in the propaganda media would blanket the airwaves and newspapers with unending stories of how the Tea Party controlled Republican Party impeached the first African-American President because he is black. The Republicans would rather balance the budget than be accused of racism. And they’d rather fly coach than balance the budget! And they’d rather resign their offices than fly coach! They know Obama and his ilk would play the race card at every occasion and an outraged black Democrat voting bloc would turn out in percentages not seen since 2008.
Obama knows if the Republicans give him the gift of impeachment in the House, he will never be convicted in the Dim-controlled Senate. Much like horndog Bill Clinton, Obama would be seen as a victim and gain even more support and popularity with Democrats.

Obama is doing everything he can to goad the Republicans into impeaching him. He even brags in the press and at endless fundraisers about going around Congress because they don’t do what HE wants them to do. He wants impeachment. The Democrats need Obama to be impeached. It would be a huge mistake for the Repubs to give him this gift. Look for Obama to do even more outlandish acts of tyranny and unconstitutional overreaches before November. He knows he has the Republicans by their BB-sized cojones. Since they don’t have the marbles (or reasons) to impeach him for the reasons stated above, he knows he is free to do anything he wants as the newly installed King of America. He will import hundreds of thousands of unskilled, uneducated, illegal alien dependents and move them throughout the country as he is currently doing. He then will give them Amnesty by executive order and allow them to bring their families to Los Estados Unidos. We will witness a Cloward-Piven collapse of support agencies leading to chaos. Allah only knows what will happen next. My best guess will be martial law with King Obama in total control of all governmental agencies. You can also look for another Trayvon-type occurrence to stir up the masses before November. Think it can’t happen? It’s happening! And we have no one to blame but ourselves.
