Pardon the diversion from fake pandemics, poopy pants presidents, and the destruction of America, but you have to see this. Most readers here are quite inquisitive and analytical, some to a fault, and if I have a fault it’s that as well. Group hug. Anyway, occasionally I am struck by a phenomenon in nature and just have to pause, let my hands drop to my sides, slacken my jaw, and stare in wonder. This is one of those times.
When we were in school, we studied cells in biology class. What’s in ‘em? Well, there is the nucleus, the cell wall, golgi, and some other hard to pronounce things all floating in a little drop of snot, and as an indirect result football happens on Sunday afternoon. Go Johnny U! We took the test, regurgitated the snot diagram, got our B- and headed out into the real world to make our mark.

The government has a cybersecurity initiative called zero trust. They are mandating that user authentication methods be structured to require zero trust of computer systems and networks in order to grant access to sensitive assets. This all originates in an executive order from cybersecurity genius Joe Biden. You did not know he’s a cybersecurity genius? His dementia shtick must be a ruse. Anyway, an executive order attempts to improve security of computing systems, at least that’s what the title is about.
This will probably only speed biometric vax passports, but I digress.
The zero trust architecture has three guiding principles, as distilled by Microsoft, 1) no default access, 2) granting the minimum necessary access privileges, and 3) assuming that the system in use has been breached.

A clever blog commenter coined the term hopium, meaning misplaced and ill-conceived hope, consumed to the point of becoming addictive, clouding the mind and reasoning capability of the addict. I hope (in the most unaddicted sense) that the commenter received his due accolades and five seconds of Internet fame for that stroke of pure genius. Oh, how clever we have become, we Internet mavens.

Some years ago, I created a product line for a certain market, said product line full of my heart and soul. The consumers in this market are social media active and quite vocal about what they like and dislike. If you mention a new product on one of the forums there will be ten immediate responses, sight unseen: Two people will love it, four people will shrug, and four people will HAAATTEE IT! I’m talking visceral, foaming at the mouth, Alec Baldwin leaving a voice message for his daughter hate. Over time, the haters convert some of the shruggers, until your market has shrunk to only 1 out of 10. It got the point that I stopped working in that market, the social media scene is so acidic and the market so self-poisoned.
It’s almost as bad as when you quote a Bible verse on TBP. (Tongue in cheek on that – down boys.)

In the deep past, when you and I were learning arithmetic in government indoctrination centers (public schools), we used the equal sign, ‘=’. Little did we understand the dark implications of such a symbol, embodying white supremacy, slavery, racism and, even lynching and pickup truck dragging. Fortunately, today the woke have taught us the truth of ‘=’, and how it is used as a tool of oppression every bit as wicked as US government slavers on horseback whipping fleeing Haitians.
