CAMBRIDGE, MA — In the wake of claiming the moon is made of gas and the sun is “almost” too hot to get close to, Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee has been named the new head of Harvard University’s Astronomy Department.

The Board of Overseers at the prestigious Ivy League institution was reportedly wowed by Jackson Lee’s insights into the cosmos, with the school immediately seeking to get in touch with her about the department head position.

New Secular Bull Market In Gold Confirmed (…by Bitcoin)

A new secular bull market in gold has now been confirmed. As you may recall from an earlier edition (of The Bitcoin Capitalist), I was mulling over re-allocating my decades-old gold stock portfolio into Bitcoin and crypto – which I did.

As if on cue, gold has put up a new string of all-time high’s since. But it is yet to crack that  $2,590 USD level, which is the inflation-adjusted high from the 1980 cycle top. That was my marker for when the gold breakout would be “for real”. It hasn’t happened yet, but precious metals do appear to be off to the races. It looks like we’re in a genuine bull market.

Gold Continues Up Defying Conventional Behavior, In 3 Charts

Ever since Nixon took the US Dollar off the gold standard in 1971, gold has acting accordingly. There are three relationships that traders, investors, and I suppose many gurus out there have been able to rely on to predict gold’s future pricing. Now, gold is breaking three of the most prominent indicators.

1. Federal Fund Interest Rates

When the Federal Reserve raises interest rates, it pushes the value of the US dollar up. The effect drives the price of gold down.

So there’s an inverse relationship between the price of gold and the Federal Fund Interest rates.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicts July, August, and September will be hotter than usual. And for those who view warmer temperatures as problematic, that’s a significant cause for concern.

“Earth’s issuing a distress call,” said United Nations secretary-general António Guterres on March 19. “The latest State of the Global Climate report shows a planet on the brink.

“Fossil fuel pollution is sending climate chaos off the charts. Sirens are blaring across all major indicators: Last year saw record heat, record sea levels, and record ocean surface temperatures. … Some records aren’t just chart-topping, they’re chart-busting.”

O.J. Simpson Excited For God To Tell Him Who Real Killer Was

U.S. — O.J. Simpson has passed away from cancer at the age of 76. According to sources from the afterlife, the former football star is looking forward to asking God who really killed his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson.

“I’ve been racking my brains for decades trying to figure out who may have done it,” said Simpson. “It will be great to have all my questions finally laid to rest. I really can’t imagine who might have committed such a crime.”

At publishing time, O.J. Simpson’s questions unfortunately remained unanswered after a majority-black jury declared him “not dead.”

Biden considering Australian request to drop Julian Assange charges

US President Joe Biden has said he is considering a request from Australia to drop the prosecution of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

The country’s parliament recently passed a measure – backed by PM Anthony Albanese – calling for the return of Mr Assange to his native Australia.

The US wants to extradite the 52-year-old from the UK on criminal charges over the leaking of military records.

Mr Assange denies the charges, saying the leaks were an act of journalism.

The president was asked about Australia’s request on Wednesday and said: “We’re considering it.”

Okay, my Trump-shy friends, it’s time to put aside your fussy principles about how icky Donald Trump is. This is serious, and we need all hands on deck to throw Biden overboard before he gets a whole lot more Americans killed. I get that you don’t like Trump. Let’s agree that he’s icky for the purposes of this discussion. Let’s agree that his tweets are mean, that he’s not a conservative ideologue, that he says dumb things and gets into useless fights, and that he does many other unseemly and annoying things. Let’s agree that this is all true. Let’s concede that in normal times, one might want to forgo supporting a guy like that. But these aren’t normal times.

This is getting real. This is life and death. Not just for cops and soldiers, but maybe even for you and your family.

Russia Bombards Ukraine With Hypersonic Missiles & Drones, Damaging Power Plants, NatGas Facilities

Russia launched a major missile and suicide drone offensive on Thursday, bombarding Ukraine’s power grid and underground natural gas storage sites.

Bloomberg reports Russia air-launched six hypersonic Kinzhal missiles that hit critical infrastructure near Kyiv and a region around western Ukraine’s biggest city, Lviv. Ukraine’s air defense system was not able to intercept the hypersonic missiles. However, 18 out of 42 more traditional and slower Russian missiles were downed, and only one of 40 drones.

In a Facebook post, Energy Minister German Galushchenko wrote that power plants near Kyiv, the Kharkiv region in the east, Zaporizhzhia in the south, and Lviv in the west were damaged. Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Telegram that a power plant was damaged in Odesa.
