ALIEN 1: We’re from Outer Space. We’re here to help.

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

If I were to provide you with a factual summary involving outer space aliens, WikiLeaks, an Apollo 14 astronaut who was the sixth man to walk on the Moon, a guitarist from a Grammy-nominated rock group, a former Democratic campaign chief and presidential chief of staff, several U.S. Presidents, Area 51, the Vatican, and Jimmy Kimmel, would I have your attention? Good.  Now, sit back and fasten your seat belts. This will be quite the ride.

What has become known as the Podesta Files were revealed on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 when Wikileaks released 7,000 e-mails sent and received by John Podesta, then the Campaign Chairman for Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton.  Within the information dump, correspondence was discovered from former Apollo astronaut, Edgar Mitchell, who cited an “impending space war and the Vatican’s knowledge of alien life”.

Also referred to in the e-mails as Mitchell’s “Catholic colleague”, was a lady by the name of Terri Mansfield, a self-proclaimed Director of the ETI (Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Peace Task Force who, according to her website, considers the “contiguous universe ETI” to be “nonviolent, obedient to God, and superior to all celestials in our universe” .  Evidently, the ETI Peace Task Force believes extraterrestrial intelligence has evolved to the point of being one-hundred percent obedient to God, with a desire for justice and a steadfast commitment to non-violence:

The Book of Genesis: TBP (The Big Picture)

You probably don’t know what this is.

You certainly know what this is.

Both are pictures of water. (The top picture are water molecules evaporating.) It’s just hard to discern in the extreme close-up picture.

Reading/studying the Bible can be like that. When you study every “jot and tittle” it is all too easy to lose sight of the big picture … or, even see it in the first place.

It’s been said the Bible is the most beautiful book translated into the English language. I won’t argue that.  But, I will say that it certainly isn’t the easiest to read. How many people have vowed to read the Bible cover to cover only to have abandoned all hope by the time they get to Leviticus? It’s a hard read. And why shouldn’t it be?  It was written thousands of years ago in a language and culture very much unlike ours. People back then didn’t write stories like 21st century Americans. We like the 3-part act with a beginning, middle, and ending … all nicely flowing together in a package deal.  Ancient writers weren’t as linear as Americans. Among other things stories sometimes jumped all over the place, diversions are frequent, and at times the attention to minutiae details can be excruciating.

While the new versions (such as the NIV) make the English versions much easier to read than the archaic King James, they obviously must follow the original structure. Again, all I’m saying is that all these things can be barriers to seeing The Big Picture (TBP) view … it has been for me, and I’m no dummy.

There must be a better way. So, I present to you TBP Genesis. A birds-eye view that would make Sgt. Joe Friday proud; “Just the facts, ma’am.”  Genesis is the second longest book in the Bible at 32,046 words.  It is now at 10,508.  A pretty hefty reduction, and nothing is eliminated, just reduced. And because it’s written in what I would call ‘conversational American’ it’s a very easy and fast read. Even a person with average reading speed can finish it in about twenty minutes.

At that moment their eyes were opened …”  That’s a phrase that occurs throughout the Bible. The first occurrence is in Genesis 3, after Adam and Eve ate from the tree.  I believe many who read TBP Genesis will have their eyes opened, seeing things from the 50,000 foot view that isn’t so easily detected at ground level. You will gain new insights, for sure.  I believe that to be true even if you’ve read Genesis many times. And if you’ve never read it?  I think you will be in for a treat!

As time permits, I will be doing the other four books of Torah (Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy).  As such, feedback is encouraged and hoped for.  I strongly welcome both positive and negative comments!  My feelings won’t be hurt in the least bit by negative comments. After all, constructive criticism is what may make the next summary even better.

Enjoy. Or, at least try too.
