THIS DAY IN HISTORY – President Carter pardons draft dodgers – 1977

Via History.com

On this day in 1977, U.S. President Jimmy Carter grants an unconditional pardon to hundreds of thousands of men who evaded the draft during the Vietnam War.

In total, some 100,000 young Americans went abroad in the late 1960s and early 70s to avoid serving in the war. Ninety percent went to Canada, where after some initial controversy they were eventually welcomed as immigrants. Still others hid inside the United States. In addition to those who avoided the draft, a relatively small number–about 1,000–of deserters from the U.S. armed forces also headed to Canada. While the Canadian government technically reserved the right to prosecute deserters, in practice they left them alone, even instructing border guards not to ask too many questions.

BREAKING NEWS FROM CANADA

Hat tip Robmu1

The flood of Trump-fearing American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week. The Republican presidential campaign is prompting an exodus among left-leaning Americans who fear they’ll soon be required to hunt, pray, pay taxes, and live according to the Constitution.

Canadian border residents say it’s not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, liberal arts majors, global-warming activists, and “green” energy proponents crossing their fields at night.

“I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn,” said southern Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota. “He was cold, exhausted and hungry, and begged me for a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didn’t have any, he left before I even got a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?”

AND THEY’RE GONE – HOPEFULLY

Good riddance you douchebags. Get the fuck out of our country. How many do you think will follow through? NONE. Because they are rich liberal hypocrites. I wonder if they’ll turn down their tax cuts. Boycott every scumbag on this list. Ruin their pathetic careers.

Celebs who said they’d leave country if Trump won

Dozens of celebrities vowed to leave the country if Donald Trump won the White House, saying they’d flee to everywhere from Canada to Jupiter.

The threat is a common one after any election outcome: Canada’s immigration website crashed from heavy traffic as it looked increasingly likely that Trump would win.

But after the real estate mogul clinched the presidency in a stunning victory early Wednesday morning, some of those stars will face questions about making good on their promise.
Here is a list of some of the celebs who claimed they would move out of the U.S. under a Trump administration.

Stucky QOTD: Crazy Canada

Below is not an Onion quote.   This was published a couple days ago in the Ottowa Citizen.  This raises up several notches the level of Pure Insanity in which libtards engage.  This has to be one of the batshit-craziest things I’ve read in the past few months, and that’s saying a lot.

=====

“Canada is a country worthy of invasion. Canada has abundant resources of fresh water, oil, coal and timber, all of which will be increasingly important as climate change continues its death march across history. The longer we scorch the Earth, the more valuable Canada’s resources become  ……… we all know how Trump feels about oil resources …………..

Would President Trump wait for a pipeline? No. Waiting for a safe and legal pipeline takes too much time. Annexations for oil resources are much simpler. Just ask Ukraine. Given Trump’s connections to Putin via ex-adviser Paul Manafort, and his pro-Kremlin foreign policy positions, it’s not a daring leap of imagination to consider that Trump might put Putin’s tactics to use regarding Canada.

Canada’s Supreme Court Legalizes Some Sex Acts with Animals

Cdubbya is absolutely thrilled. He’s already applied the peanut butter and he’s headed to the barn.

Canada’s highest court has just ruled that some sex acts between humans and animals are legal.

ISTANBUL, TURKEY - FEBRUARY 5: Bayram Kozat, who used to shepherd sheep in Turkey's Malatya for the past 20 years, practices his job as a new dog walker in Istanbul, Turkey on February 5, 2016. While having difficult time taking seven dogs for a walk at once on the most crowded streets of Istanbul, he treats them like his children, and feels happy for doing a similar job like his Mardin days. In a quixotic ruling, the country’s high court ruled that a man who was on trial for raping and sexually exploiting his own daughters wasn’t guilty of “bestiality.” The man reportedly, “smeared peanut butter on the genitals of his victims and had the family dog lick it off while he videotaped the act.”

The convicted man took his case to the Canadian Supreme Court, demanding that the bestiality charge be nullified. In the end, the court agreed.

As a result of the rape case, the court ruled 7 to 1 that humans having sexual contact with animals is OK if there is no “penetration” involved in the act.

In its ruling, the court decided that the legislature had not clearly defined the terms in the country’s bestiality laws and the way the statute is written should be read to only outlaw animal penetration, whether that penetration is animal to human or vice versa.

Firearms in Canada

An Introduction for Foreigners and Domestic Newbies

by Francis Marion

Photo from magazinewraps.com

Gun ownership in Canada is best described (as stated in the video below) as a well kept secret. Contrary to popular belief there is in fact a long held tradition of firearms ownership amongst the general public here that goes back hundreds of years. Indeed, there are millions of gun owners in Canada. In fact no one is sure exactly how many; the government of Canada says about 2 million but estimates from other sources put that number upwards of 4 to 5 million. Why the discrepancy? Government numbers are based on licensing data (not everyone is licensed) which brings me to the primary difference between the US system and ours. In order to own a firearm “legally” here one must be “licensed”. This will seem abhorrent by American standards but the “licensing system” here is not totally unlike the process of buying a firearm in the US and is in some ways better and in other ways worse. How can that be? Well, stand by and I’ll tell you.

First, a little background:

Celebs who Want to Leave if Trump is Elected

Celebs Who Will Leave

We need to start a collection here to help these celebs actually do what they threaten this time. Typically the same crew threatened to leave the country if George Bush was elected. I suppose after paying their accounts to make sure they paid the lowest possible taxes, there was nothing left to pay for the air ticket since they never left. We need to make sure they have enough money to actually leave for one and of course they would have to give up their celeb status since they would no longer be allowed to work in the USA. Alec Baldwin was reported by a German magazine as having said that he would leave, but he denied ever saying that. Other celebs never left. So why do they try to influence us to vote for their candidate by making such dramatic claims? Perhaps they just need attention.

Eddie Vedder – “I’m moving to a different country if little Damien II gets elected.”

Barbara Streisand – “I don’t think you’ll see me around here for at least four years.”

Robert Altman – “If George Bush is elected president, I’m leaving for France.”

Pierre Salinger – “If Bush wins, I’m going to leave the country and spend the rest of my life in France.”

Prologue:

I am big believer in the idea that the recipe for raising good kids is simple. Be patient and give them your time. If you spend time with them, take and interest in who they are and what they like and include them in activities (both work and play) that are gateways to adulthood then most of the time you’ll end up with good kids. I’m especially proud of both of mine. They are both turning out to be very fine human beings.

In the years that I have lived in British Columbia I have learned that hunting deer in the southwestern region of the province is simple. In the opening days of September the deer are still in their summer range. This means they are up high. As the season wanes, the weather cools and the first snows hit they move to lower elevations.  I say this facetiously of course, as this is where the simplicity ends.

Early deer season in our part of the world is decidedly not simple. I am a child of the prairies and growing up in Saskatchewan, “deer hunting” meant pushing whitetails out of pockets of bush in the agricultural zones. It is an activity as much akin to wing shooting as anything else. The same activity pursued in my current local is dramatically different. Here, just getting to where the game lives is more akin to an “Iron Man” competition than it is to hunting elsewhere and the older I get the less that statement seems like hyperbole.

Over the years I have learned a few important things about hunting in the high country: everything is steeper, further and heavier. Small mistakes can compound themselves quickly. Too little water, the wrong clothing, a slip of the knife or the foot or grabbing the wrong branch can spell disaster. Simply being in the alpine is risky. Hunting deer and other game there is challenging. Successfully taking game there is life affirming. It is why I go back year after year whether I am successful or not.

COVER UP: Parents, student CONFIRM refugee children choke, slap Canadian kids

Hat tip Francis Marion

Via The Rebel

Are Canadian children being abused in school by refugee students? We spoke to the parents of children who say they are.

Last week an article by the Chronicle Herald detailed multiple instances of Syrian refugees assaulting Canadian children. The article featured comments by a woman nicknamed “Missy” who explained how her daughter had been choked with a chain and her son had been visibly threatened on the soccer field.

The story was pulled soon after it was posted with members of the left-wing media decrying the story as “racist,” “Islamophobic,” “xenophobic” or simply just not true.

In place of the story, an apologetic message was left in its place saying the story needed more research and was “insensitive” to the refugees.

Major Newspaper Censors Politically Incorrect Story About Muslim Chain Attack

“Muslims rule the world” quote deleted before article pulled entirely

Major Newspaper Censors Politically Incorrect Story About Muslim Chain Attack

A major newspaper in Canada has removed a story about two refugee children who choked a girl with a chain while shouting “Muslims rule the world” in a shocking example of politically correct-driven censorship.

The original article published by the Chronicle Herald described how a grade three girl at Chebucto Heights Elementary School was choked on two separate occasions by two “refugee boys” who had arrived in February and that “a chain was used on both occasions”.

According to the girl’s mother ‘Missy’, who didn’t want to be named because she feared retribution, the boys yelled “Muslims rule the world” while they carried out the assault, but were not even disciplined by the school.

252 refugee students are currently enrolled in the region, with another 71 waiting on settlement of permanent housing.

Another mother quoted by the Herald also claimed that her daughter begged her to be allowed to stay home from school after she was “slapped after she and a classmate disagreed in the schoolyard,” and that the school again took no action and didn’t even call her.

But perhaps the most shocking turn of events came when the Herald, which had already printed the story in its hard copy, first edited the article on its website to remove the “Muslims rule the world” quote and then deleted the story entirely.

Canada Goes Full-Krugman

Submitted by FRANCIS MARION

Prologue: The Liberal government campaigned on running a deficit and the sheep bought it. They will run about 30 billion over the next few years – almost three times the amount they originally promised. There will be lots of free shit for special interest groups and for aboriginal Canadians. Promised tax breaks for small businesses have been deferred indefinitely as a result and income taxes for the middle class are now up. The message being – the politicians, the banks and the FSA benefits and the productive and future generations will pay for it.

Canada Goes Full-Krugman, Jacks Up Borrowing And Spending, Confirms Gold Sale

Bill Morneau took centre stage last week in the Canadian Parliament and didn’t disappoint. The new Liberal finance minister’s first budget jacked up program spending across the board, to be paid for by borrowing and, eventually, presumably, money printing. His rhetoric was coated with suggestions that “economic growth” would solve the country’s problems. The only folks left out were taxpayers and savers.

On the face of it, Morneau’s logic makes sense. With interest rates near zero and the Canadian government’s debts among the lowest in the G-7, why not borrow a bit and invest in infrastructure? Well, there are several reasons – and all of them augur well for the future of gold.

Canadian government debt at record levels

Morneau is technically right. The Canadian government’s debt is at low levels compared to that of other advanced economies. However, those numbers are shaky. For one, they include only federal debts, not provincial debts. If you include all Canadian government debts including the provinces (US states are not allowed to run deficits), things look far worse.
