With Spree Shooters, An Overwhelming Majority Of Gunmen Are Previously Known To F.B.I.

Invariably, when yet another mass (or, unfortunately – in this case – school) shooting occurs, the public eye turns to the discussion of gun control and reform.

Though the debate over how to implement changes to U.S. policy to stop any future slaughters have well intentions, a startling revelation involving spree shooters is constantly overlooked with each successive incident.

In overwhelming majority, most shooters are previously known to the FBI prior to their massacres.

Less than 6 weeks before the Parkland, Florida school shooting in 2018, the FBI received a tip complaining about the soon-to-be shooter and no one from the agency followed up. It’s not a stretch to wager that if an agent had further investigated the tip, the shooting may have been prevented and the lives of children saved.

Ukraine Arms Its People; Americans Say ‘Way Ahead of You’

Ukraine Arms Its People; Americans Say 'Way Ahead of You'

Imagine you’re a Democrat for a minute – to fully experience the effect, invent some pronouns and forget which bathroom to use – then think of the cognitive dissonance you would experience watching the TV showing your new bestest buddies the Ukrainians handing out AK-47s to regular civilians. Normal people, with guns? And intending to use them to defend their freedom? But but but guns are bad! Your mind would be spinning – it’s got to be a manifestation of white supremacy, right? “Ohhhhhhh,” you moan, swooning and dizzy at the thought of men (and women) standing up to personally undertake the solemn duty of citizenship that is defending your country.

Social Security Issues Final Rules Removing Beneficiaries’ Gun Rights

Social Security Issues Final Rules Removing Beneficiaries’ Gun Rights

The Social Security Administration (SSA) announced on December 19 that it had “finalized” its rules regarding who will have their names added to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). This was after the proposed rules published in April received more than 90,000 responses, mostly negative, from the public. The National Rifle Association (NRA) opposed the proposed rules for numerous reasons and urged its members to protest them.

The new rules now allow the SSA to add to the NICS anyone over 18 but under retirement age who is diagnosed with a “mental disorder” and receives benefits through a “representative payee.” Open to question, as pointed out by The New American in June, is just how “mental disorder” is to be determined, as well as how the agency can override the right to due process protected by the Fourth Amendment and infringe upon the “right to keep and bear arms” protected by the Second Amendment.

RELENTLESS BULLSHIT

Health Dept Task Force Recommends Mental Illness Screenings for All U.S. Adults

“The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, an influential panel appointed by the Department of Health and Human Services, has released its recommendation that all U.S. adults over the age of 18 undergo a mental illness evaluation as part of their regular health check-ups.”

and

“The report makes a recommendation that all adults should be screened at least once, though the “optimal frequency of such screening has not been established.” Thus the “B” grade; the panel is only “moderately” certain that blanket screenings could bring those billions down. However, that score does qualify the screenings for coverage under Obamacare.”

Article here.

This one comment on the post caught my eye:

“Look at the scam going on in schools; almost half the class are often designated “special needs”, which requires extra teachers to be hired and classes to be smaller, which also requires teachers to be hired. If you think this ridiculous mental health “screening” won’t be used to take away gun rights, you need your head examined. Oh the irony!”

Now all those kids that will move into adulthood are already labeled special needs even if they aren’t.

(This entire post lifted from The Feral Irishman…..again. Sorry, I couldn’t improve on it.)

Two Years After Newtown, A Shift in Favor of Gun Rights

More Say Guns Do More to Protect Than Put People at Risk

Pew Research Center:

Two Years After Newtown, A Shift in Favor of Gun RightsFor the first time in more than two decades of Pew Research Center surveys, there is more support for gun rights than gun control. Currently, 52% say it is more important to protect the right of Americans to own guns, while 46% say it is more important to control gun ownership.

Support for gun rights has edged up from earlier this year, and marks a substantial shift in attitudes since shortly after the Newtown school shootings, which occurred two years ago this Sunday.

The balance of opinion favored gun control in the immediate aftermath of the Newtown tragedy in December 2012, and again a month later. Since January 2013, support for gun rights has increased seven percentage points – from 45% to 52% — while the share prioritizing gun control has fallen five points (from 51% to 46%).

While the partisan divide on the question remains as wide as ever, the increasing support for gun rights spans across a wide swath of demographics. Compared with last January, support for gun rights increased by 6 points among Republicans and Democrats, 7 points among independents, 8 points among whites and 10 points among African Americans.
