If you have a sensitive stomach or digestive issues, be very careful. Start with a very, very low dosage.

That Twitchel recipe mentioned by matslinger and hardscrabblefarmer is fantastic. I’m still not sure where it originates. I could not find any info about it on the net.

We’ll have to put Stucky on it!

It does come in pill form. I take it and it seems to help with several ailments.

A trip to the Doctor twice a year to have blood tests drawn will tell you all you need to know concerning your health. People always jump on the latest fad but never go to their Primary care Doc for labs and a yearly examination. For example, if you over 50 you need a colonoscopy. Drinking apple cider is no substitution for managing ones health. A word to the wise is sufficient.

Crum, how can you get the benefits of probiotics from a pill?

You need the mother. Kombucha tea, fermented foods, raw foods, more plant based foods, it’s how we used to eat, it’s what our bodies were made to run on.

Not chemical lased processed foods, and pills. I have a big batch of sauerkraut with carrots, onions, garlic, rutabaga and brussels spouts just about ready to eat.

If you want to maintain you health here’s the way to do it.

1. Eat a heart healthy organic diet.
2. Exercise and maintain a healthy weight.
3. Go to your primary care Doc every six months insist on a complete blood work up and follow his/ her direction.

After these three steps are in place then follow the latest fad at your leisure, you will live longer than you want to.

Big Ben, the opposite is true! A tablespoon or two of Bragg’s ACV straight will stop acid reflux in its tracks.

Taking it straight, or mixed with apple juice or water (baking soda can be added also) is far more effective than the OTC meds (much to Big Pharma’s chagrin). My hot sauce kid had reflux and tried several rounds of the pills, and taking ACV for a week was what worked. He still gets heartburn once in awhile, and he heads straight for the Bragg’s. I wish I had known about it during my second pregnancy. I practically had to sleep sitting up.

Brush your teeth after, or rinse with baking soda and water, because it is hard on tooth enamel.

To maintain pH balance, I make a drink of 2T ACV, 3-4 oz. of apple juice, and 1/4 t baking soda, let it sit until the fizzing stops, and drink. It tastes like hard cider.

1. That Admin, and not Stucky, posted this is FABULOUS!

2. Please, please, please, use a raw, organic, non-pasteurized ACV. Heinz will sorta work, but you are denying your body the most important nutrients and enzymes.

3. Mix it with a LOCAL, RAW, organic honey and FILTERED water. This will help your seasonal allergies tremendously.

This is NOT new. Mr. Braggs (tons of info on the web about the guy) was touting his ACV decades ago, nobody listened as the country/world decided chemicals and not god-made was the way to go. He lived into his 80s/90s and myth has it that he died skydiving.

ACV and honey 100% eliminated my allergies to pennicillin, mold, yeast, hayfever, etc. I have not taken a decongestant, nor antihistimine, in nearly 4 years after a LIFETIME of being on them.

Yes, whenever you consumer, use, slather, ANY new substance you should “be careful.”

One has no idea of knowing what you are allergic to, nor what you have become intolerant of, until you try it. This is a wise way to live whether you are trying a folk remedy or eating a new brand of potato chips. My daughter is only allergic to two things, 1-Slim Jims, not any other brands, just Slim Jims and 2-Mucinex (actually the chemical contained, starts with a “G”), there was NO way to figure this out until it happened. Doctor just shrugs and says, “you sure?”

ACV literally saved my life and started me upon my trek of health. I feel better at nearly 47 then I felt at anytime during my 20s – and I was fit and active in my 20s.

At this point I have now removed the majority of the inflammation and candida yeast growing bacteria in my body. All thanks to “folk remedies” that are warned about and pooh-pooh’d by the status quo and their followers.

Whatever. As i tell my doc addicted family, you go ahead and say “ooh, yuck, what about?” and not use it, then keep going back on antibiotics and anti-allergy and anti-depressants while developing more and more issues that you blame on age, I’ll keep using ACV, magnesium, Vitamin D, iodine and acidified sodium chlorite and be healthy.

Whichever, the choice, for now, is up to you.

The shame will be when we won’t be able to get our hands on this stuff because the AMA, FDA and Big Pharm will will and shut it all down.

Right now they are trying to figure out how to irradiate ALL our food in the name of food safety.

This will be the final nail in the human coffin as it will kill off any beneficial bacteria and nutrients that we have left in our food.

For those who are interested: try water kefir or tibicos. You can buy them on eBay for $6. They are natural symbiotic yeast and bacterial cultures that you can take care of yourself. All they need is sugar and clean water. If you let them ferment long enough you can have a fizzy vinegar like drink or just probiotic fizzy water if you ferment less. You can even use them to make your own beer. It’s an inexpensive way to get probiotics.

I drink it straight in a shot glass and thow it back, pretty much misses the teeth although I do rinse my mouth afterwards. For a really good tonic, make a batch of apple cider vinegar, ground turmeric, ground ginger and finely chopped garlic, shake it up well and throw that down the hatch!

Oh. So if I say it ….. Pffft!

But if The Mighty Quinn says the same thing, then that’s some kind of Gospel FABULOUS?

I feel slighted.

Or, you make a one time purchase of $15 …. for a LIFETIME supply.

Kefir, IMHO, ranks above vinegar, magnesium, and every other natural remedy posted here. Your immune system starts in the gut, and drinking in billions of these little critters will keep you healthy for a long time. One of these days Admin will come to the same conclusion, and I will be validated.

I was thinking of making some apple vinegar from some hard cider I made a few years ago. I made 5 gallons because I put my brew stuff in kegs and the hard cider is sitting in a keg. When I tried it it was so clean that I cannot make 5 gallons of vinegar out of it. Usually when I make hard cider I ferment 4 gallons of cider then add an additional gallon to make it sweet. My chest freezer that I store all my fermented product in broke and stayed that way for a while so the cider just fermented that last gallon of cider to make a hard cider with at least 10 percent alcohol. This stuff is so good you cannot detect any alcohol unless you have two pints. You just get a slight apple flavor. I will make 1 gallon of vinegar instead of five. Now I just have to start drinking more so I can enjoy all my fermented beverages.

I will make one gallon of vinegar and drink it most days, the other days I will drink lemon water.
These actions will alkalize your body supposedly making you healthier.

News Flash……………………….Repugnants vote to repeal country-of-origin labeling on meat. That includes beef, pork and chicken.

I learned about the benefits of ACV from an old book about Vermont folk medicine decades ago. This may be the only thing that can save us from the Chinese (not fit for human consumption) chicken and pork products that are lurking under old established brands in your local grocery.
