I have never understood how the American people let two small and relatively obscure states (IA & NH) determine which two candidates get to be on the ballot for the rest of the country. Maybe TBTB found it to be the easiest way for the two candidates to get selected.

I just went to Walmart this morning. Plenty of everything, milk, eggs ($2.80/doz!), chicken, meat, etc. Expensive as you say. The shortages are supposed to hit in about six months.

There are 600 million chickens in the US. The number culled so far is a rounding error. Just saying.

As an aside, in the Great Depression, the rabbits that were in enormous plague numbers – estimated numbers in the billions – saved a great many Australians from famine. Some of the old folks that are still around, not many anymore, have never touched rabbit since. Apparently they hunted and trapped rabbits every day, and had it morning, noon and night to survive. They grew to hate it, but it kept them alive. The farm kids used to hunt and trap and sell them to the city folk, in pairs called braces, for a few cents. Not so many rabbits anymore, but our land has quite a few. I knock them off whenever I see too many. My .17 HMR is quite the rabbit slayer.

Sure, it will shake the market. But given how fast they grow table chickens, unless they keep culling it is just a temporary blip. Hatch to table is something like 7 weeks.
Friends of mine were commercial growers. It is an ugly, disgusting business. We only buy free range chicken. Commercially farmed featherless chickens are disgusting, and they shouldn’t allow that crap be fed to the public. This all happened in the last few decades. When I was a kid, chicken tasted like chicken. Not so much anymore.

Yes Llpoh. We also buy all out meat, poultry, eggs and dairy (raw) from a local organic farmer. No comparison on the taste vs even the “organic” from the grocery stores. Way better. Not cheap but if it helps keep our health, worth it. God willing, we will be in a position to buy out right a modest place in the country by mid-Summer and start raising and growing our own.
Rando people approach me in the store. Last week a high schooler wanted to read my palm for a psychology project. I gave her a funny look. She “read” my heart line and life line. I asked about my head line and if she saw mental illness on my palm. After all, the project was for psychology. Her reaction was priceless.
This week, I was buying eggs. I chose the duck eggs because they were on clearance for 2.89 for six. A guy asked what kind of eggs he should buy. His normal choice was 2.99. A pricier brand was on sale for the same price. Not wanting to tell him what to do, I asked if he wanted to expand his horizons while the eggs were on sale. He thought about it and chose the on sale brand and joked that he better not love them because he didn’t want to pay full price. There were no shortages, though. Most of the expensive, like 7.99 a dozen were fully stocked but the lower priced ones were readily available too.
We always buy free range eggs, or get them from neighbors. Not sure that you can trust labels. Maybe all come from the same hens far as I know. All Oz eggs sold are brown. Haven’t seen a white one in yonks.
The co-op I used to frequent is no longer open. I miss being able to buy from them, and am still trying to find another.
Our duck, Disco, has started laying eggs and we are delighted. Maynard, the mallard, shows no interest in her yet, but if she decides to sit on her eggs, she will get her own little house.
For now, they live with the chickens and do not know they are ducks. We get eight to ten a day from our flock and I am waterglassing the eggs now.
These ucfkhead are OBSESSED with YOUR death but not theirs. Time to put them to sleep crying or screaming. It’s up to YOU!
Another government created crisis. Are any of you beginning to understand who our real enemy is?
You just have to know one thing: The so called “Elite”, our Presidents, Prime Ministers, Kings, and other high level government officials DESPISE US.
We are regarded no more valuable than the ants that crawl across a sidewalk; however us “human ants” have a large carbon footprint, and thus need to be eliminated.
War, famine, man made diseases, violence, GMO’s, deadly medications, chemically treated water, and anything else “they” can do to cull the population is therefore acceptable.
Everything is being “warp speeded” into shortages, which in months to come will lead into rationing… In other words, everything will be CONTROLLED..
Perhaps if Canada started growing hemp and poppies for local use that would be part of the road to ‘happy, healthy, wise’ citizens. The other part might be getting out of NATO, so North America is not constantly making a bad situation worse in Europe.
