I was once in a training seminar and this man sitting next to me fell asleep upright in his chair and FELL OUT of his chair, startled. I have never laughed so hard in my life. And I couldn’t stop, even after we tried to move on in the class. I was actually asked to leave the class until I could control my laughter. (the man was really embarrassed – I apologized for laughing so hard, but he didn’t seem to appreciate it)

Taylor Lorenz (that useless shit that was going after Libs of TikTok) is actually related to the guy who built the web archive or something similar, so she has the ability to make sure that anything she wants, anything she deletes, magically vanishes from the internet. Amazing stuff.
I was in my bedroom at 7:30AM yesterday.
Then I heard a THUMP, followed by a scream.
Ran into the living room.
And there she was …. my mom lying on the floor.
Such a heartbreaking thing to see.
Then I saw her thigh.
I almost gagged. A HUGE bulge. How it didn’t break through her skin is amazing.
Broken femur. At age 92.
They did surgery today around 4PM.
Don’t ask me why they waited until today. I don’t know.
Nurse said she’s doing well, all things considered, she’s in much pain, as if she needed more of THAT in her life! But, they tell me she hardly cried at all. She’s frail, but tough as a Navy Seal.
Life sucks in general. And it sure as fuck sucks to get old and weak. I won’t let that happen to me.
I kinda hate to ask this … cuz we ALL have problems, don’t we? Mom and me, we ain’t nuthin special. But, if anyone wants to send up a quick prayer for her, well, that would be very nice.
Gotta run … probably won’t be around for a few days.

As for the delay in surgery? I was in a motorcycle accident in LA in 1986 — they took me to Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital (against my wishes) in an ambulance. I had a shattered right elbow — and the orthopedic surgeon said I’d have to wait until the next afternoon because — wait for it — they didn’t have any English-speaking nurses available in the OR.
The hospital got more than 220 nurses from Scotland 3 or 4 months later … all the rest were mexicans or filipinos …
We’re still going thru the same here… broken hip… so yes know what ur going thru and will say a prayer.
