BURNING BOOKS IN A BRAVE NEW 1984 WORLD

“Those who don’t build must burn.”Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451

Nick Tyrone on Twitter: "This Venn diagram isn't possible. “1984” is set in an authoritarian future in which all pleasure is repressed; “Brave New World” in one where people are provided with

“One believes things because one has been conditioned to believe them.”Aldous Huxley, Brave New World

“Being in a minority, even in a minority of one, did not make you mad. There was truth and there was untruth, and if you clung to the truth even against the whole world, you were not mad.” George Orwell, 1984

The Venn diagram above perfectly captures the zeitgeist of our current dystopian world better than any academic drivel disguised as a scientific study or any regime media produced propaganda disguised as journalism. In fact, these three novels capture everything that has gone terribly wrong in our world, and I put the blame at the feet of totalitarian governments and an apathetic fearful populace who went along because it was the easiest path to follow.

These three novels, considered among the top 100 novels ever written, were penned between 1931 and 1953, during three distinct periods, which are reflected in the themes and story lines of their dystopian worlds. They were supposed to be works of fiction, providing warnings of what could happen if we made the wrong choices and trusted the wrong people. Sadly, they became user manuals for today’s authoritarian dictators in how to control, condition and cow a population of indoctrinated sheep, as displayed during the covid pandemic exercise.

Knowing the fate of the three protagonists in these novels does not provide much hope for those trapped in the same nightmarish dystopia we are experiencing today. The three protagonists in these dystopian novels have more similarities than differences. Montag, the fireman who burns books in Fahrenheit 451, is the protagonist who begins to question his life, his profession, and why he and most of the population are deeply unhappy. His curiosity about the books he previously burned leads him into conflict with his family, his bosses, and society. He murders his boss and becomes a fugitive among the other rebels who love books and refuse to knuckle under to the totalitarians blowing up and burning their world.

Fahrenheit 451: A Short Film by Phillip Wachowiak — Kickstarter

John the Savage, who is a complete outsider in the “civilized” World State culture, is the main protagonist in Brave New World (a line from Shakespeare’s The Tempest). His knowledge of Shakespeare provides him with the rhetorical ammunition to hold his own in a debate with the controller of the World State, Mustapha Mond, but Mond’s totalitarian state where stability and happiness outweigh individuality, emotional connections and humanism, win in the end. John’s weakness leads to him giving in to his desires and ultimate suicide, much like a Shakespearean character.

Winston Smith, a Party member who commits thoughtcrimes by keeping a diary, believing The Party misleads about history, and questioning The Party orthodoxy, is the non-charismatic protagonist of 1984. His passive resistance against the totalitarian state becomes more overt and ultimately puts him into the clutches of O’Brien and the Thought Police, who inflicted physical and psychological torture upon Smith, until he breaks and becomes an emotionally deadened, loving follower of The Party.

All of the Passages In 1984 That Relate To You Right Now ‹ Literary Hub

Three of the greatest novels of all time, all written within twenty years of each other, had similar themes, analogous protagonists, and equally disheartening endings. It is certainly clear the warnings of these brilliant men were not heeded by the masses, mainly due to the techniques described in the novels regarding population control and suppression. The overlapping themes in the three novels have played out in various forms over the last several decades, as our world has slowly descended into a dystopia of our own making. There are several key themes in these novels that are perfectly aligned with our current predicament: (1) Technology as a Means of Control; (2) Censorship; (3) Individuality Versus State Control; (4) Truth, Happiness, and Materialism; (5) Dangers of Totalitarianism.

Technology as a Means of Control

“It didn’t come from the Government down. There was no dictum, no declaration, no censorship, to start with, no! Technology, mass exploitation, and minority pressure carried the trick, thank God.”Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451

HBO drops the first full-length trailer for Fahrenheit 451 | TechSpot

Technology is the central source of societal evils in Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451. It is the fundamental reason for the decline in reading by the populace and the means for destroying books with high tech flamethrowers. Bradbury’s view is that the advancement in technology is ultimately destructive to society and humanity. Bradbury’s vision of the future was spot on, with wall sized televisions and radio earbuds providing endless entertainment and distraction to the population, making books obsolete. Television was in its infancy, with small black and white screens and little programming in the early 1950’s.

Today, even the poor have big screen HDTVs on their walls and everyone at the gym has earbuds with their playlist blasting. No need for human interaction or reading a book. Thirty percent of Americans haven’t read a book in the last year, and a significant percentage of the 70% who say they have are lying. I’ve had friends and co-workers who acted proud of not having read a book since college.

🎨 Mechanical Hound - original painting (early works) — Hive

The dumbing down of Americans and addiction to our gadgets can be greatly attributed to the “advancement’ of technology. Super-fast automobiles and a Mechanical Hound programmed to hunt down and kill fugitives are other examples of technology in Bradbury’s novel of addictive contraptions and robots used by totalitarian regimes for nefarious purposes. Today expensive fast cars are the narcissistic status symbols of shallow people trying to impress their friends and neighbors. Robots capable of killing and attacking humans are a reality and now Artificial Intelligence programmed robots are theoretically capable of thinking independently and potentially destroying the world.

Fahrenheit 451 and 1950s America | Albert Resources

Maybe Bradbury’s most strident warning was regarding nuclear technology, having written the novel only eight years after atomic bombs were dropped on Japan, and the Soviet Union testing their 1st bomb in 1949. In the novel, two nuclear wars had already occurred, and it ends with an atomic bomb dropped on the city. Today, as Biden and his neo-con handlers push for war with Russia and China, the potential for nuclear war is the highest in fifty years. These psychopaths actually think they can “win” a nuclear confrontation with Russia and China.

What Do You Think?

Huxley’s fundamental warning in Brave New World is the danger of handing control of new powerful technologies to authoritarian minded men, who use the technology to control the population, rather than benefit society. The strict control over reproduction through technological manipulation, removal of female ovaries, and conditioning techniques, to produce the desired number of people in each class dehumanizes the entire population.

The leaders of the World State use technology to promote their desired outcome of stability and a compliant populace who are conditioned to think they are happy. The technological entertainment machines produce harmless leisure and high levels of consumption and production, producing the desired stability for Mustapha Mond and his apparatchiks. Technology is used to develop drugs like Soma, encouraged by the state to be taken as a means to increase happiness, complacency, and apathy towards seeking truth or meaning in life. Creating a superficial world through technological inventions like “feelies” insures a sedated controllable population of sheep.

The ability to grow fetuses in high tech digital pods is already being planned and designed. Technology exists to manipulate DNA to produce a desired human product. Everything Huxley warned about regarding reproduction is going to happen, with the horrible consequences to follow. We were warned but have allowed sociopaths to gain control of our government, universities, media, corporations, and medical industry.

The worldwide baby killing business, using high tech murder gadgets, and technology created pharmaceuticals to murder babies quietly, allows anyone who feels inconvenienced by pregnancy to terminate it. Down syndrome babies can be killed, so the lives of the parents aren’t disrupted. With further “advancement” in technology, we’ll be able to terminate babies that aren’t the right gender or may have an IQ below 120. Isn’t technology grand? The birthing pods envisioned by Huxley are now a reality.

The purpose of entertainment technology in Brave New World was to create a false sense of happiness in order to maintain stability in society. In reality, if you keep the masses dumbed down and distracted, they will never consider revolution against the controllers of society. This method has been utilized brilliantly by the ruling class to keep the American masses amused, distracted, entertained, and ignorant regarding their civic duty to ensure our society functions in a way in which all citizens have a say in how community standards are designed.

Allowing a small cabal of unelected psychopaths to control our government, media, corporations, and educational institutions, while the masses are entertained by their X-boxes, i-gadgets, Tiktok, Facebook, Twitter, HDTVs, Hollywood, sports, gambling, and porn, has gutted our culture and allowed the ruling class to accumulate obscene levels of wealth and power. Having the sheep-like masses distracted and ignorant is the kind of stability our current day controllers’ desire.

Is Greater Technology Becoming a Distraction?

When they are not distracted and amused by technology, current day variations of Soma have been created through the use of medical and biotechnology to enrich the sickcare industry, pill pushing pharma industry whores, and the regime media hawking the pills, while sedating the masses and keeping them in a permanent drug induced stupor. They start them young, with millions of boys diagnosed with ADD by women who want boys to act like girls, forced to take Ritalin, Adderall, and a myriad of other Big Pharma concoctions that turn normal rambunctious boys into passive zombies who do as instructed in the public-school indoctrination centers.

Image

Once they attain adulthood, it’s on to Prozac, Zoloft, Lexapro, or dozens of other technologically create anti-depressants, designed to sedate and numb the masses from the reality of their leaders pillaging and looting their wealth through taxation, inflation, and corruption. The richest country on earth has the highest antidepressant usage on the planet because the average person’s existence is so shallow, meaningless, and devoid of value, they feel the need to escape reality. This is particularly true of older white women, with more than 25% of them taking anti-depressants.

It’s not a coincidence these mentally ill Karen’s are the easily manipulated dupes who vote for Biden, wear pussy hats, cheer for abortion, believe the bullshit climate change narrative, were gung-ho for the Big Pharma toxic jabs, and still wear masks while driving alone. The ultimate Soma-like creation has been the mRNA technological “miracle”, which the ruling class used as a test case in ruling the world through coercion and fear, while enriching themselves, and jump starting their de-population agenda. They had to change the definition of vaccine to convince the masses they were taking a vaccine, and not an untested experimental gene altering therapy, that has killed far more than it saved.

Big Brother is watching you – Foreign Policy

“Big Brother is Watching You.”George Orwell, 1984

Dystopian technological totalitarianism has been epitomized by the picture of Big Brother monitoring everything the proles did, said or thought. By means of telescreens and hidden microphones, the Party is able to monitor most of its members and/or invoke fear into the hearts of the masses. Orwell essentially created the concept of a dystopian Zoom seventy years before its invention.

Orwell envisioned a centralized Party exerting control over the means of production, sources of information, surveillance machinery, and the fearsome torture apparatus used to keep the proles in line. His warning was based on Stalin’s Soviet Union. Instead of heeding Orwell’s warning, we allowed totalitarian psychopaths to use 1984 as an instruction manual. The use of technology to monitor and control the masses has exceeded any tyrannical apparatus Orwell’s mind could envision in its darkest recesses.

The Two Faces of China's Surveillance State - WSJ

Today, surveillance cameras are universally utilized by the State to control the proles, collect fines for minor vehicle infractions, and prosecute anyone who breaks one of their millions of ridiculous laws. Your phones listen to every word you say, using them to bilk you out of your money through targeted ads. Even worse, as revealed by Edward Snowden in his book Permanent Record, the NSA can access your computer and phone in real time and store everything you say, text, or type.

They essentially have a permanent technological record of every communication by every person on the planet. And if you are deemed a threat or dissent from their approved narrative, they can and will use that information against you, without providing context. They can make anyone into a “criminal” whenever necessary for their purposes. Now they have the technology to turn your vehicle on or off and gain complete control of the vehicle. I’m sure this will work out well when you piss off the powers that be.

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”George Orwell, 1984

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine OK with tearing down Confederate statues, opposes removing Columbus statues - cleveland.com

By linking everything you do (home security, utilities, internet usage, appliances) to wireless networks, you are captive to the whims of the State (Party). As we have seen in the last few years, authoritarian government, corporate whores, and social media tyrants have colluded in a corporate fascist scheme to use their combined dominance over social media platform technology to propagandize their agenda (Covid scam, Vaccine con game, climate hoax, transgender degeneracy, race hustles, Ukraine lies) and suppress the truth.

Systematic Digital Repression: Social Media Censoring of Palestinian Voices

By deplatforming the critical thinking dissenters, silencing the truth tellers, destroying the livelihoods of those who have been proven right, and purposefully misleading the masses to further their agenda, these totalitarian psychopaths have far exceeded what the Party accomplished in Orwell’s 1984. And now, for the coup de grace, the ruling class plans to roll out CBDCs as a means to capture complete control over the proles.

Once your social credit score drops below the acceptable level, due to your brazen disregard in accepting the approved narrative, your ability to transact will be cut-off. No food or fuel for you, until you bow down to your masters and beg for their mercy. We will have allowed technological handcuffs and shackles to be placed upon us as we rot in our self-made techno-gulag. We’ve chosen momentary faux happiness over enduring hard-earned freedom. Orwell warned us and we failed to heed the cautionary tale.

“The choice for mankind lies between freedom and happiness and for the great bulk of mankind, happiness is better.” George Orwell, 1984

In Part 2 of this article, I will examine the role censorship played in the three dystopian novels and how our current censorship state exceeds Huxley, Orwell, and Bradbury’s worst fears.

From the day I learned to read, I have never been without reading a book. I read 1984 and Animal Farm as a 13 year old, and totally understood what he was getting at. Nothing has changed since then, except the Democrats saw it as a “How To Manual” and all his prediction are coming true, just a few decades later than he predicted.

I have a 1st edition 1984, and the Folio Books commemorative 1984 printed in 1984. It is wonderful writing, as is Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, We, and others. At peril we are, should the love of reading good and critical books ever leave us.

We prefer being recluses, interacting with several informed folks that are tuned in to globalism. We are no longer involved in group activities and home church online. Have given up on people and feel society isn’t worth perpetuating. America’s 250th celebration in 2026 won’t happen, we will be enslaved by then as less than two percent are patriots and mostly over 60. Over 95 percent will go along with anything gov. dictates incl owning nothing and being enslaved.

The comment section on TBP 10 years ago was the primary reason most people visited this website. There was always sharp wit and many good points. Ever since Fleabaggs died (seems to be an inflection point here) the comments are just not really worth reading anymore and I would venture to that is why traffic is down because the degeneration of quality in the comment section is why I visit the site less often than I used to.

And submit an article and one gets a third grade spelling and grammar lesson. Submit an essay and get TL;DR and then criticism from the same people that didn’t read the essay.

I believe its just matter of the late date, Ice. The bloom is off the rose and we’re all writing to the back of the room, so to speak. Articles (like Jim’s above) are important still, but since the Fall of 2020 we seem to have entered the fait accompli phase and there isn’t a whole lot of controversy to debate anymore.

Even so, interesting comments do continue. For example, in my opinion, Paleocon’s “8 Steps to Totalitarianism” (below) corresponds well with Jim’s first installment.

Looking forward to part two…

Before joining the presidential campaign of Donald Trump in 2016, Mnuchin had been involved in politics only by donating money to campaigns.[57] Between 1995 and 2014, he donated over $120,000 to political organizations, PACs, politicians, and political parties. His contributions to candidates included 11 donations to Republicans and 36 donations to Democrats. The campaigns of Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Barack Obama, and Mitt Romney were among those to which he donated money.[58] Mnuchin later claimed most of those donations were favors for friends.[32]

Between June and September 2016, Mnuchin donated over $400,000 to the Republican Party, including donations to Paul Ryan and Donald Trump. Earlier in 2016, Mnuchin had donated $4,000 to Democrats Kamala Harris and Michael Wildes.[58]

When I read supposedly conservative commenters bash Trump, two things immediately come to mind. 1. Fed concern troll, 2. Anal retentive d bag who would likely complain about a free lunch.
In spite of his faults, and I was no fan prior to his running, he says things that need saying. He calls out people who need calling out. IE.. fights back, and he exposed the uniparty for what it is. A government that works for it’s own power and affluence. No other person on the planet could have withstood what he has. No person in modern history has given up more for this country than he has. What have you done for this country? Sitting on your sofa and sniping about needing the perfect Pol, they don’t exist btw, doesn’t count.

I have always figured we were living through Cat’s Cradle. It will all end with ICE-9 and a whimper.

BTW did you Burners realize that yesterday was the most expensive day in the history of the world? Over $200 trillion in LIBOR denominated contracts switched over to SOFR denomination at 12:01 am July 1st. LIBOR is dead, long live SOFR.

BUT! It was SOFR that blew up from 2.21% to 5.25% in 36 hours on September 17, 2019. Three months later the world got Covid lockdowns while that $200 trillion that switched Saturday was shielded by the rigged LIBOR. This is it – the financial time bomb has been activated. We are approaching the end product of Covid-19.

Prepare accordingly.

‘A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.’

I have come to the conclusion that those books predicting a dystopian future were not a warning. They were written to show what is planned and to demoralize everyone who read them by coming to a conclusion that there is no hope.

Are we looking at some really rough roads ahead? Absolutely. They count on us giving up. At least 30% of the US never took one CONvid shot and even more never took a booster.

I don’t believe we are looking at the end of the world, yet. People think technology is the end all be all. It’s not and it’s use against us can be defeated in many ways.

I’m not one to be an optimist but I feel like a lot of people have taken on a defeated attitude. That is the first step to giving them every thing they want.

Regardless of what you think of Catholics, they defeated the status quo in the Mexican Civil War in the early 20th century. Even the Vatican failed to come through for them. The one thing they did not have was a defeatist attitude.

“I have come to the conclusion that those books predicting a dystopian future were not a warning. They were written to show what is planned and to demoralize everyone who read them by coming to a conclusion that there is no hope.”

You beat me to it. The parasites are exceptionally patient. I know it’s another hard to swallow redpill to accept how far back the clever deceptions were planned, implemented and coordinated to evolve towards specific outcomes en masse. There is evidence that these 3 books were deliberate, coordinated predictive programming planned for when the takeover of the education system was complete.

At the very least, the parasites were overjoyed to have them to exploit. I don’t know when their mandatory reading was removed, but millions of the boomers’ schoolkids were made to read them under a guise of great literature and good warnings, but they worked instead as a simmering poison planted in young minds that subtlely left dread of the dangers lurking in the future and one’s inevitable powerlessness against it. They were especially powerful for embedding feelings of something too big and scary to resist, especially individually.

Brave New World I certainly think was predictive programming after reading and listening to later Huxley. Fahrenheit I barely recall. Is there any reason to think 1984 was meant to be programming? I have seen it for years as just describing how it already was.

I correct my implication that 451 was one of the mandatory readings in that era, it wasn’t but was very promoted and popular in my big city society memory. The mandatory that I remember were Brave New World, 1984 and Catcher In The Rye. If not written as programming, the opportunity to exploit them as such was certainly deliberate.

MC it looks to me that this country could soon have a Cristero War like Mexico had. The Democrats supported the communist government of Plutarcho Calles as did the KKK because they hated Catholics. It almost led to armed conflict between the Klan and the Knights of Columbus or “Caballeros de Colon.”
Some Mexican Knights of Columbus have been canonized as Saints due to their persecution and Martyrdom. The war ended with the election of Cardenas in 1940.

I also don’t think the vast majority of furious passengers know the weather can be this manipulated… and probably is.

I’ve lost all face value trust anymore myself however in anything natural about anything extreme, destructive or chaotic affecting great amounts of people. Now knowing how many have been proven fabrications, it appears that an agenda to keep up some relentless slamming of people all over the US in a myriad of fabricated ways is underway, including psychologically with ‘headline events’ that support the narrative to dishearten, enrage and/or divide.

This is a concise synopsis of just how far the US has been pushed into the abyss of the plutocrats’ techno fascist, neo-feudal hell scape using Bradbury, Huxley and Orwell’s books as road maps and guideposts. All three had access to the ideas, goals and agenda of the Fabian Society and other social engineering philosophies of their day. We are far more along in the mind numbing process than any of these men imagined.
The one thing they all predicted was technology would be used to dumb down, dehumanize and negatively transform the masses into the image of the ruling classes who want to play god and rule their new creation/creatures, New World Order. Sadly most people are too distracted, too dumbed down, too discombobulated and too disconnected to fully grasp what is being done to us. The COVID PSYOP is a testament to the depths and intensity of the societal somnambulance. The menticide (literal killing of a people’s mind) will escalate and the ruling elites’ goal of turning us into mindless drones and automatons is almost complete.

What it proves to me is that Thomas Jefferson was correct when he said novel reading rots the mind. Once you have learned the willing suspension of disbelief and “it’s only a story” you have created a false self that is comfortable with untruth. The religious groups that resisted the craziness do not read novels or go to movies on a regular basis.

Interesting. I’ve not known TJ opined on the subject. I thought novel reading was supposed to expand one’s horizons? Hum.

“1984,” as well as the other titles mentioned were not warnings to those in the future, they were hyperbolic descriptions of the then present. The descriptions were true in 1948, in 1984, and they are true today.

”The ability to grow fetuses in high tech digital pods is already being planned and designed. Technology exists to manipulate DNA to produce a desired human product.”

So then how do you kill off 95 % of the population , to be replaced by Huxley’s designer humans , Alphas , Betas , Deltas and the very dumb Epsilons used for hard labor ?

If you want some heavy reading by Aldous Huxley, get “The Perennial Philosophy”. Not a novel but a deep dive into many religious quotations of various shamans, gurus, and historical religious figures.

“The Perennial Philosophy,” Aldous Huxley writes, “may be found among the traditional lore of peoples in every region of the world, and in its fully developed forms it has a place in every one of the higher religions.” – Amazon

Other books I’ve read this year I’ve are “The Forgotten 500” about the extraction of nearly 500 WWII bomber pilots who were downed over Yugoslavia and rescued by the OSS, despite vigorous opposition by the British intelligence. The story was unable to be told until the 1980s due to a secrecy pact of the mission.

Currently reading “The Memoirs of General Turner Ashby and His Compeers, Annotated Edition.” I am a direct descendent of Turner Ashby (my grandmother’s maiden name was Ashby”), and he was revered as a true Virginia gentleman and distinguished as well as capable Confederate general in the Civil War. The book was written by his unit’s chaplain a few years after Ashby’s death on the battlefield at Harrisonburg, Virginia, in 1862. So the recollections are verified and untainted by the passage of time, as so many biographies are.

In 1963 my Grad Lit essay was on two new novels. Brave New World and 1984. Oh and a Russian novel, We. I have no idea what I wrote; would give a fortune to see my naive take on these two books that shaped my entire life to this day. I am one of those senior women btw who takes antidepressants. It is impossible to get off them but I keep it so low. Would I vote for Biden? LOL.

As a result of those books I never looked at the world through the eyes of my peers; always aside and watching people perform accordingly. Lonely actually cos I knew what few acknowledged. For decades I almost called myself “Kassandra” because NO ONE listened, they thought me mad, no matter how subtle or politically accurate I was. A curse in some ways when you know “stuff”.

So for about 60 years now I have watched and studied our enemies. I fear for my grandchildren.

Brave New World , like Star Trek , was 100 % Socialist/Communist
