How Do We Fight the Big Censors?

Guest Post by Robert Bronsdon (Hollywood Rob)

Well the issue of big data companies attacking right wing commentators has come to the fore with demonetization, limited state, and twatter bans.  It surely does seem that the focus of the 10,000 new google hires is placed squarely on those who do not support the regressive left agenda.  How do we fight this?  Well ladies and germs…you fight back by becoming active.

Why Is the GOP Terrified of Tariffs?

Guest Post by Patrick J. Buchanan

From Lincoln to William McKinley to Theodore Roosevelt, and from Warren Harding through Calvin Coolidge, the Republican Party erected the most awesome manufacturing machine the world had ever seen.

And, as the party of high tariffs through those seven decades, the GOP was rewarded by becoming America’s Party.

Thirteen Republican presidents served from 1860 to 1930, and only two Democrats. And Grover Cleveland and Woodrow Wilson were elected only because the Republicans had split.

Why, then, this terror of tariffs that grips the GOP?

Consider. On hearing that President Trump might impose tariffs on aluminum and steel, Sen. Lindsey Graham was beside himself: “Please reconsider,” he implored the president, “you’re making a huge mistake.”

Twenty-four hours earlier, Graham had confidently assured us that war with a nuclear-armed North Korea is “worth it.”

“All the damage that would come from a war would be worth it in terms of long-term stability and national security,” said Graham.

A steel tariff terrifies Graham. A new Korean war does not?

They tell us that our uppity refusal to quietly submit to abuse and subjugation, both figurative and literal, makes us bad people. Not only can we live with that, but we should celebrate it.

When the liberals and their squishy-soft allies in Conservative, Inc., start moaning about your dreadful incivility, that’s a clear indicator that you are doing something right and that you need to double down. Civility, once properly understood as a means to an end rather than an end in and of itself, has morphed from an aspiration into a political/cultural gimp suit designed to prevent you from effectively asserting your interests and your point of view.

Doug Casey on Arming Teachers

Via Casey Research

Justin’s note: On February 14, 17 people lost their lives in a shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Sadly, tragedies like this routinely happen in the United States. Every time they do, Americans demand radical reforms. And for once, the government’s delivering.

President Trump has already said that he wants to ban the sale of bump stocks. And he thinks teachers and coaches should carry firearms in schools.

That’s a controversial suggestion. Some people think Trump’s a lunatic for saying this. Other people think it’s a brilliant idea.

But I couldn’t help but wonder what Doug Casey thinks. So, I called and asked him myself…

South, North Korea to hold summit in April – South Korea says

SEOUL (Reuters) – North and South Korea will hold their first summit in more than a decade in late April, the South’s presidential office said on Tuesday after a senior delegation returned from a visit to the North where they met leader Kim Jong Un.

North Korea said there was no need to keep its nuclear program as long as there was no military threat against it and the safety of its regime was secured, the head of the delegation, Chung Eui-yong, told a media briefing.

The Public Square

Guest Post by The Zman

If you wanted to start a delivery service, you would need vehicles of some sort to make your deliveries. You would need to hire drivers and people to help figure out the logistics of delivering whatever it is you intend to deliver. The other thing you would need is permits to operate your delivery vehicles on the road. The reason for that is the roads belong to the public. The job of the state is to maintain the roads and part of that is regulating how the roads are used. That means you have to obey the rules in order to use the roads.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY – The Rosenberg trial begins – 1951

Via History.com

The trial of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg begins in New York Southern District federal court. Judge Irving R. Kaufman presides over the espionage prosecution of the couple accused of selling nuclear secrets to the Russians (treason could not be charged because the United States was not at war with the Soviet Union). The Rosenbergs, and co-defendant, Morton Sobell, were defended by the father and son team of Emanuel and Alexander Bloch. The prosecution includes the infamous Roy Cohn, best known for his association with Senator Joseph McCarthy.

Destiny Looms: Choose Your Way or it Drags You

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:

Posting articles online, especially for readers of high intelligence, can be quite a balancing act.  In fact, with certain topics, it is like walking a tightrope while wearing ice-skates in a crosswind.  At times, the tightrope represents the delicate balance between the cerebral hemispheres.  According to Left- Brain Right-Brain Theory, the left-brained technicians incline towards logic, analysis, and objectivity, and the right-brained artisans are intuitive, subjective, and romantic.

Although I can play either side, I personally favor the creative aspects of artistic, conceptual visualization. This may be why left-brained people rarely get my jokes. For instance, if I wrote how mechanical engineers design weapons and civil engineers design targets, there would be comments in the ensuing thread informing me that both types of engineers design FAR more than just those two categories.  Even more importantly, extreme caution must be applied to never get the science wrong, ever.  Make one mistake and medieval heretics burned at the stake will gaze up from hell and say:  “There but for the grace of God, go we” as the left-brainers, with smoking pens in melted shirt pocket-protectors, dance upon my ashes.

So it’s a fine line.

In The Wake Of The Parkland Shooting, Focus On Action and Reform – Not Politics

Unsurprisingly, the discussions surrounding the shooting have been politicized and uncompromising. For the most part, calls to action have been nothing short of unrealistic, childish demands.

On February 26, David Cicilline (D-RI) introduced the Assault Weapons Ban of 2018 which would:

…prohibit the sale, transfer, production, and importation of:

  • Semi-automatic rifles and pistols with a military-style feature that can accept a detachable magazine;
  • Semi-automatic rifles with a fixed magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds;
  • Semi-automatic shotguns with a military-style feature;
  • Any ammunition feeding device that can hold more than 10 rounds.

TRANSCRIPT OF TRUMPS GRIDIRON DINNER SPEECH

Trump is not much of a comedian. Because of that, this is a bit of a slog but it gets better as it goes on and he gets a few good zingers off. I’d have loved to have seen a video of the faces in the crowd….mostly Operation Mockingbird print media propagandists……er….I mean journalists. (wink, wink)

Transcript of President Trump Speech During Gridiron Dinner…

[Transcript] “Well, thank you very much. It’s an honor to be here and, I must tell you, that Melania and I are really thrilled. We really looked forward to this. … I didn’t know what to expect, but it’s really quality people … quality people. So, thank you very much.

Its been really another calm week at the White House. We finally have it running like a fine-tuned machine. Its fine-tuned. Its a beautiful piece of work. … But before I get started, I wanted to apologize for arriving a little bit late. You know, we were late tonight because Jared could not get through security. … Ivanka, you’ve got to do something, … Jared but I will tell you, hes a good guy. He has suffered. He is a great guy he really is.

I know the Gridiron is really an old tradition in Washington, been around a long time, and one that’s important to many of you in the media. So, I was very excited to receive this invitation and come here and ruin your evening in person. … My staff was concerned heading into this dinner that I couldn’t do self-deprecating humor. They were worried about it. They said, Can you do this? And I told them not to worry.

Has the Bubble Popped?

Guest Post by Eric Peters

How much longer it can go on? How long, that is, can the irrational exuberance which has characterized the market for new cars go on?

Each year, new cars become less and less affordable – relative to what people can afford to spend. Which explains why leases and extended loans with near nil interest have been resorted to for the past almost ten years now to keep the proverbial balloon inflated.

But the ballon may finally have popped.

Dr. Rand Paul to Introduce ‘Audit the Fed’ as Amendment to Senate Banking Bill

Via Rand Paul

WASHINGTON, D.C. – With the U.S. Senate expected to vote on S. 2155, the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act, this week, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) today announced he will introduce his “Audit the Fed” bill, which would authorize the first-ever thorough audit of the Federal Reserve System, as an amendment to the financial reform legislation.

“While we have made great strides in reviving our economy through curbing overzealous regulation and cutting taxes, lasting prosperity will escape us if we do not hold the enabler of big government and our astronomical national debt accountable. It’s time for the Senate to side with the American people by removing the shackles on congressional oversight and lifting the Fed’s veil of secrecy. It’s time for us to pass Audit the Fed,” said Dr. Paul.
