A Twitter Files Requiem

And so the “Twitter Files” Limited Hangout has come to its inevitable, ignominious end. It is over. The Twitter-Files story is dead. It isn’t pining for the fjords. It is deceased, cadaverous, bereft of life. It has bought the farm and gone to meet its maker. It is Humpty Dumpty. It has fallen off the wall. Nothing can put it back together again.

I have to tip my hat to Elon Musk. It was quite an impressive limited hangout. The way Musk took the potential story of a global network of Intelligence agencies, corporations, NGOs, and assorted “disinformation experts” censoring, visibility-filtering, and otherwise neutralizing dissent as GloboCap executed the “shock-an-awe” phase of the roll-out of the “New Normal” over the last three years … the way Musk took that potentially game-changing story by the throat and throttled it, played around with its corpse for a while like a cat, and then finally threw it down, squatted over it, and obstreperously, definitively defecated on it, that was … well, quite impressive.

“You Just Lied!”: Elon Crushes BBC Reporter’s Claims About ‘Hate Speech’ On Twitter

Less than a week after Twitter labeled the BBC “government funded media,” owner Elon Musk gave an impromptu interview to the news agency on Tuesday evening at Twitter HQ, where he discussed topics ranging from layoffs, to misinformation, to his work habits, to the fact that most of the advertisers who left in a huff have now returned or said they will.

But who cares about most of that. Elon totally crushed the BBC reporter, James Clayton, by calling him out over the nanny state’s favorite straw man – ‘hate speech,’ and then trying to get Clayton to admit he likes large black penises.

When asked why there’s ‘so much more hate speech on Twitter’ since he took over, Musk pushed back – challenging Clayton to provide a single example. Clayton couldn’t. Then says ‘

“You said you’ve seen more hateful content but you can’t name a single example. Not even one.”

To which Clayton replied: “I’m not sure I’ve used that feed for the last three or four weeks and I –”

“Then how could you see the hateful content? ..  I’m asking for one example. You can’t give a single one.” Musk interjected. “Then I say sir that you don’t know what you’re talking about … because you can’t give a single example of hateful content, not even one tweet. And yet, you claimed that the hateful content was high. That’s false. You just lied!”

It’s not Matt Taibbi (or Substack), it’s Elon

The world’s most interesting billionaire has developed a love-hate relationship with Twitter – and anyone who stands up to him

Elon Musk is tired.

He’s been tired, and making mistakes, ever since he wrapped himself up in the tar baby (trigger alert) that is Twitter. Along the way he’s lost $24 billion on the little bird, by his own estimate.

Now Musk has made his worst mistake yet.

On Thursday, he picked a fight with Substack, a company one-one-thousandth Twitter’s size. Then he doubled down by attacking Matt Taibbi, a veteran investigative reporter who has done months of work at Musk’s invitation on the Twitter Files, the effort to open Twitter’s archives to examine how governments, non-profits, and companies tried to force Twitter to censor tweets and ban users.

In 48 hours, Musk has burned up what’s left of his credibility as a free speech champion. And he’s ensured the mainstream media will forever treat the Twitter Files – a key reason he bought Twitter – as a joke.

Musk vs. Schwab at World Government Summit — Two Competing Visions for the Future

Billionaire Elon Musk and World Economic Forum (WEF) Chairman Klaus Schwab faced off this week, presenting competing visions for the future at this year’s World Government Summit — a WEF-like meeting dedicated to shaping the future of government worldwide.

Billionaire Elon Musk and World Economic Forum (WEF) Chairman Klaus Schwab faced off this week, presenting competing visions for the future at this year’s World Government Summit (WGS).

Convened from Feb. 13-15 in Dubai under the slogan “Shaping Future Governments,” the WGS brought together prominent figures in politics, business and global governance in a format akin to that of the recent WEF annual meeting.

The WGS bills itself as “a global knowledge exchange platform dedicated to shaping the future of government worldwide.”

Participants comprised over 300 speakers and 10,000 attendees, including 250 government ministers and representatives from 80 international, regional and governmental organizations, including the U.N., WEF, World Health Organization (WHO), World Bank and International Monetary Fund.

Musk, Schwab and other leaders debated conflicting hopes and concerns for the future. The WGS itself also predicted what the world will look like by 2071, released as part of the WGS’ “Government in 2071” initiative.

These projections foresee a dystopian future of catastrophic climate change, mass migration, mass layoffs due to automation, ensuing social unrest and the merging of humans and technology as the “best-case scenario” for 2071.

The Mother of All Limited Hangouts

The Mother of All Limited Hangouts has begun. Yes, I’m talking about the “Covid Twitter Files,” which are finally being released to the public, in almost textbook limited-hangout fashion.

I’ll get into that in just a minute, but first, let’s review what a “limited hangout” is, for those who are not familiar with the term.

The way a limited hangout works is, if you’re an intelligence agency, or a global corporation, or a government, or a non-governmental organization, and you have been doing things you need to hide from the public, and those things are starting to come to light such that you can’t just deny that you are doing them anymore, what you do is, you release a limited part of the story (i.e., the story of whatever it is you’re doing) to distract people’s attention from the rest of the story.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — After posting a Twitter poll that seemed to indicate most Twitter users want him to step down from Twitter’s leadership, Elon Musk has revealed that millions of mail-in ballots sent in yesterday confirmed most people want him to stay.

“Initially the poll seemed to indicate that the majority of users and bots wish me gone, but that was a mirage,” said Musk as he emerged from a dark, windowless room with stacks of ballots. “It looks like we got an overnight dump of 2 million mail-in votes that all say they want me to stay in charge of Twitter! Imagine that! Vox Populi Vox Dei!”

Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter and revealing previously censored information against Trump and conservatives, is undoubtedly being observed by those on the Christian Right as an “answer to prayer” as a new coalition of Christian Pastors is forming to help Donald Trump get re-elected.

Everyone is going to hate this column. Musk worshipers are going to hate it because I’m going to blaspheme against Elon Musk. Musk demonizers are going to hate it because I am not going to blaspheme against him enough. Everyone else is going to hate it because they’re sick to the gills of hearing about Musk, and Musk’s destruction of Twitter, or his salvation of Twitter, and censorship, and “hate speech,” and all that stuff.

I’ll get to the blasphemy part in a minute, but first, let’s quickly review what’s happened, and where things now stand, or appear to stand.

Sins of Information Warfare

At the moment, there is a very active discussion regarding the increasingly viral video “Died Suddenly”. Other commentators (for example “The Daily Skeptic” and Josh Guetzkow) have appropriately noted that the (generally well funded and produced) video includes segments which are misleading at best, falsely imply one or more cause-effect relationship between a sudden death event and vaccine administration, or otherwise employ cinematic license to stoke outrage. I have previously written regarding the business model of Stoking Rage for the up and coming podcaster, and in my opinion this strategy is fundamentally the same as the “fearporn” business model of corporate media – and in particular CNN.

For what its worth, I hold “our side” to higher standards than I have come to expect from corporate (broadcast and published) media. I reject the assertion that, on the battlefield of the current 21st century unrestricted media and information war which we are immersed in, it is acceptable to employ the tactics of our opponents. I have heard others in the medical resistance community advocate the schoolyard “logic” of “they are doing it to us, and so we have to do it to them”. I firmly reject this. Any “win” on the information war battlefield which is based on this type of rationale will be transitory and self defeating. It is not a win if we become one with the ethics of our opponents. The really stunning thing about Elon Musk’s campaign to clean up the back-stage rats’ nest at Twitter is that he’s the lone authority figure in the land who dared to act against the degenerate political Left’s impudent and remorseless cancellation of everything that held together America’s consensual reality.

Think of it: all the college presidents and deans, all the corporate CEOs, all the judges, all the governors, mayors, and agency heads, all the news editors and network producers who did nothing and said nothing about the wholesale demolition of truths, values, and principles carried out by Woke-Jacobin maniacs under their watch. And what’s more appalling: they all pretended not to notice each other’s craven inaction and silence.

Musk Planning To Fire 75% Of Twitter Staff: WaPo

Despite Twitter company executives repeatedly telling employees that there are no immediate layoff plans during town hall meetings over the past few months, The Washington Post reports that Musk is planning to make massive job cuts in the coming months.

According to interviews and documents obtained by WaPo – so take that with the pinch of salt it deserves – Musk told prospective investors in his deal to buy the company that he planned to get rid of nearly 75 percent of Twitter’s 7,500 workers, whittling the company down to a skeleton staff of just over 2,000.

However, while the headline appears to want to make Musk out to be some Gecko-esque corporate raider?…
