Unraveling Impeachment

Guest Post by The Zman

In the days after the election, when the Left was howling about Russian collusion, it was clear they were hiding something. The theory they were pitching was so ridiculous, it had to be about something else. The mendacious mediocrities in mass media could be convinced it was real, but that’s their job. Normal people always knew the claims were absurd. We later learned that the Russian hoax was part of an effort to conceal the seditious plot by the intelligence community.

Trump Impeachment

Guest Post by Martin Armstrong

Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the House is opening a formal impeachment inquiry of Trump, saying he’s violated his oath of office and obligations under the Constitution. Her announcement that she will begin an impeachment inquiry over Ukraine has now been the excuse for US stocks to revisit support. There was no announcement of a vote on the floor to endorse an inquiry.

‘Whistleblower’ “Urgent Concern” Complaint Released By House Intel Committee

Via ZeroHedge

The House Intel Committee has released the full (modestly redacted) complaint letter from the so-called ‘Whistleblower’ regarding Trump’s “urgently concerning” conversations with Ukraine.

“In the course of my official duties, I have received information from multiple U.S.
Government officials that the President of the United States is using the power of his office to
solicit interference
from a foreign country in the 2020 U.S. election.”

“Over the past four months, more than half a dozen U.S. officials have informed me of various facts related to this effort.”

“I am deeply concerned that the actions described below constitute “a serious or flagrant
problem, abuse, or violation of law or Executive Order”
that “does not include differences of
opinions concerning public policy matters,”

So to the crimes and misdemeanours…

In Addition To Impeachment, Democrats Announce Plans To Get Involved In A Land War In Asia

Via The Babylon Bee

WASHINGTON, D.C.—At the same press conference where she announced plans to begin formal impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also announced Democrats’ intent as soon as possible to get involved in a land war in Asia.

Pelosi said the two initiatives would be grouped together in a legislative package called “Easy Wins with No Unintended Consequences that Could Never Go Wrong and Blow Up in Our Faces for the Children Act of 2019.”

Impeachment Odds Plummet As Trump Releases Ukraine Transcript

Via ZeroHedge

The Trump administration has released a White House transcript of a phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the heart of a whistleblower complaint.

Among other things, the transcript shows Trump discussing former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

Here’s the ‘pressure’ Trump put on Zelensky:

“The other thing, There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it… It sounds horrible to me.”

Trump Ruins Democrats “Witch Hunt Garbage” – Will Release Transcript, Complaint, & IG Report By End Of Week

Update (1920ET): In what is likely to spoil the Democrats’ week, President Trump – having already authorized the release of the “complete, unredacted” transcript of his call with Ukraine’s president – is now set to release both the whistleblower complaint and the Inspector General report that are at the center of the impeachment inquiry by the end of the week.

Politico reports, according to a senior administration officials, The White House is preparing to release the documents to Congress over the next few days. The president has agreed to this move, the official added.

Additionally, the so-called whistleblower has sought legal advice and has released a statement:

IMPEACHMENT????

In 2016 Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, in his investigation of corruption involving Burisma Holdings, a natural gas company, identified Hunter Biden as the recipient of over $3,000,000 from the company.

Not wanting this corruption exposed, Joe Biden swung into action, using US loan guarantees as hostage while demanding Skokin be fired.

Amazingly, Joe Biden now brags about his actions in this matter.

Pelosi Tells Dem Leaders She Wants To See Trump ‘In Prison’

Via ZeroHedge

As we’ve previously explained, Nancy Pelosi has been desperately searching for an excuse to avoid starting impeachment proceedings against President Trump (that is, until Dems are certain they have the popular political support to justify trying to remove him from office).

Earlier this week, the Speaker of the House added what we saw as a novel excuse: Pelosi would rather Trump avoid impeachment and instead face prosecution as a private citizen after leaving office.

Pelosi

Or at least that’s what she told Jerry Nadler, Politico reports. Nadler and other committee leaders have been enmeshed in a private behind the scenes battle over who will ‘own’ the Dems’ sprawling investigation into Trump.

Are We on the Ramp to Impeachment Road?

Guest Post by Pat Buchanan

Are We on the Ramp to Impeachment Road?

If Trump believes, not without reason, that Pelosi’s caucus is out to kill his presidency, should he cooperate with the co-conspirators or use all of the actual and latent powers of his office to repel them?

After a stroke felled Woodrow Wilson during his national tour to save his League of Nations, an old rival, Sen. Albert Fall, went to the White House to tell the president, “I have been praying for you, Sir.”

To which Wilson is said to have replied, “Which way, Senator?”

Historians are in dispute as to whether Wilson actually said it.

But the acid retort came to mind on hearing that Nancy Pelosi, hours after accusing President Donald Trump of “engaging in a cover-up,” a felony, piously volunteered, “I pray for the president of the United States.”

For, by now, the hostile investigations of Trump by Pelosi’s House are becoming too numerous to list.

Trump Agrees To An Impeachment Hearing If He Gets A Cut Of The T-Shirt Sales

Via Babylon Bee

WASHINGTON, D.C.—President Donald Trump had a reportedly contentious meeting with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer about the ongoing investigations into the president. At issue was Trump’s demand for a large chunk of the t-shirt sales when they have an inevitable impeachment hearing.

“But that’s the sweetest plum!” Pelosi objected, according to those in the room. Pelosi owns a silk screen and was planning to offer numerous t-shirt designs outside the Capitol in celebration of charges formally being brought against the president.

Dress Rehearsal for Impeachment

Dress Rehearsal for Impeachment

Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court was approved on an 11-10 party-line vote Friday in the Senate Judiciary Committee. Yet his confirmation is not assured.

Sen. Jeff Flake, Republican of Arizona, has demanded and gotten as the price of his vote on the floor, a weeklong delay. And the GOP Senate has agreed to Democrat demands for a new FBI investigation of all credible charges of sexual abuse against the judge.

Astonishing. With a quarter century in public service, Kavanaugh has undergone six FBI field investigations. They turned up nothing like the charges of sexual misconduct leveled against him these last two weeks.

Do Democrats Want an Impeachment Fight?

Guest Post by Patrick J. Buchanan

Do Democrats Want an Impeachment Fight?

“If anyone is looking for a good lawyer,” said President Donald Trump ruefully, “I would strongly suggest that you don’t retain the services of Michael Cohen.” Michael Cohen is no Roy Cohn.

Tuesday, Trump’s ex-lawyer, staring at five years in prison, pled guilty to a campaign violation that may not even be a crime.

Cohen had fronted the cash, $130,000, to pay porn star Stormy Daniels for keeping quiet about a decade-old tryst with Trump. He had also brokered a deal whereby the National Enquirer bought the rights to a story about a Trump affair with a Playboy model, to kill it.

Cohen claims he and Trump thus conspired to violate federal law. But paying girlfriends to keep past indiscretions private is neither a crime nor a campaign violation. And Trump could legally contribute as much as he wished to his own campaign for president.
