EL Fuckhead:

Younger than that. She is too. My wife and I couldn’t have kids for 7 years …… because….. we had white furniture.

I’ve puked up bigger things than you & Billy. I was being sincere. Just call me a fuckin’ liar again & see what happens.

Jfish… I had my son turn off my thumbs up/down business on my laptop and I’m not going down into the basement to vote.

I assume you are still going to be my trollslayer in case EC or other trolls come after us now that we’ve driven this comment thread toward TBP record breaking potential?

And as far as the spy bidness goes? You are the one always concerned about NSA finding out you are here. The rest of us know that they know we are here and could care less. Only a NSA spy would think they are relevant.

IDK… Am just in a bad mood. It’s hard to think of my daughter with either one of these asswipes. It’s hard being a Patriarch. I’ll just tell ’em about that I got a shotgun and a shovel & see what happens. I also have low life friends with lead pipes & baseball bats. It’s gonna be a great X-mas, for sure! In the meantime, I’m still taking monkey votes – for whatever its worth. Is cool…

EC nice one. I had not heard/read that one and I took enough Literature to get a minor! Of course, since I was going to school on the taxpayer’s dime (GI Bill) I got a minor in History, PoliSci and English Literature.

But, had not heard/read the 600.

How about this one?

WASHINGTON AT VALLEY FORCE

Washington at Valley Forge
Bitter was the day,
Very easy it had been to throw the cause away.

Hate and malice filled the air
Ragged men and cold,
Lonesome men and weary men tales
of misery told,
Easy had it been to say :
– Brief are human lives.
Let’s be happy while we may,
happy with our wives.

Washington at Valley Forge!
Everywhere he went
Seeing soldiers day by day
sick with discontent,
Easy had it been to say:
– Bitter is the rain !
Is the cause we’re fighting for worth
its cost in pain ?
Why keep on defying death, disaster and disease?
Let’s go home to happiness and
spend our days at ease.

Washington at Valley Forge
Bravcly carrying on;
Seeking not the easy way lest freedom’s hope be gone.
Proudly bearing misery, hunger, discontent,
Lonely days nnd lonely nights and all that failure meant;
Choosing every sacrifice and meeting every cost
Rather than to quit the field and
let the cause be lost.

I’m turning this off, but thought I’d share one last rambling story before I go.

When I was in high school, I was the “smartest kid in school.” Not in my class. In school. Of course my hometown was 212 people and my school had less than 150 kids from kindergarten to 12th grade.
So it really doesn’t say a lot… there wasn’t a lot of competition and when your father has you reading at age 4 and reading Red Badge of Courage at age 10, more than likely, you are gonna “shine.”

But, when hormones kicked in, I was not very good at the flirting/dating stuff. As a matter of fact, most of the young men I’d known all my life were too intimidated by me being smart to even consider any thing like a “date.”

So, this new guy moves to the area from a nearby town because his father decides to take on his family farm with the grandfather. He’s Catholic, GASP, which is unheard of in my little 12 Protestant churches in a 212 people town area. We start “dating.” Soon, I realize he is a drunk and that most of my weekends are spent going to movie, for pizza and driving him around in his 68 RoadRunner (which could KICKASS in the quarter) until I parked him in front of our house when I was to be “home” and let him wake himself up and drive home whenever.

I ask my father what I should do to help him… after all, he obviously needs help, right?

My father looks over his magazine at me and says, “Drop him. He’s a bum. His father’s a bum. His grandfather’s a bum. He’s never going to be anything but a bum.”

Of course I didn’t listen then, but eventually I left for college and dropped him.

He’s still a bum.

I want her to have a decent guy. Truly. One better than me. I just don’t like my options now & I’m a little pissed off. Just bein’ a “Dad” I guess. I flipping hate the holidays. My bad… Am in over my head. No clue what to do. These girls drive me nuts. But – at the same time they are amazing. I kind of like HSF’s position of arranged marriages. I could probably handle a Mennonite son-in-law. Not an option, now tho.

Took a train ride with my mom and granny from Juarez to Irapuato back in ’73. 39 hours one way. Then we took the coach bus to Penjamo. I recall the women who look much the same as these here, selling soft asadero cheese along the way. My friend said they make it with a bit of goat piss, it sure is good.

Coming back, we had to wait at the train station for several hours and no vendors in sight, all I got was a near boiling cinnamon drink which didn’t do anything for my appetite. That’s about all you can do on a train, take pics of the landscape.

They had a beer car but I wasn’t into drinking in front of my mom. Besides, there was that story about an uncle in the family, he got slipped a mickey on the train and the family had to backtrack for a long time trying to find him, he had lost his mind and that’s the state they found him in weeks later.

Well, what a difference a day makes. Now I know that we are officially screwed by the asswipes in Congress because they don’t even try to hide their treason any longer.

So, that means that they have ZERO fear of any of us, if they ever did. If you ever saw the Devil’s Advocate, I think of the halls of Congress like that party where Keanu Reeves’ wife kept glimpsing the monsters behind the beautiful facades.

EL Butthead & Maggie (and whomever):

Ok… I’m back. All sobered up this morning…, albeit with a slight hangover.

Anyway… in going back through this thread today I wanted to say some more.

First of all – I can’t believe that bastard Rob stole my 300!!

Secondly – when I said my dad sat on his helmet like Catch 22 – I was being merely ironic in order to be thankful for his balls not being blown off so he could have had me later. Whether he did or not. I don’t know. He’s passed now so I can ask him.

Third – I was thinking of him (and Andy Griffith), the duality of human nature and the Patriat Act. Thinking of my dad makes me wish I could talk to him one more time, ya know? I could use his advice (especially with parenting).

And Maggie – you have a point about my paranoia of the NSA. Even still this does not make me a “lying spy”.

Overall – Drunken Melancholy + no hope for the future = rage & despair.

Rage & despair can lead to fear and paranoia.

But after re-reading HSF’s “Conspiracy” post (and definitely Patrick Henry’s speech) – It makes me want to “man-up”.

Dang, that makes Maggie’s Nicholson clip spot on. Maybe the subliminal messages are working. I suspect some of my new attitudes have come about from reading this blog.

Bea, you posted 350 and if your tablet dies, you will always have that.

EC… I still have those adorable little overall shorts. I was wearing those until I was into my 4th month of pregnancy and I decided that ONE day, I would wear them again. I am normally NOT the type of woman who keeps her high school prom dress in order to relive her glory days, HOWEVER, I looked incredibly gorgeous in that denim get up with the purple t-shirt (have that TOO, haha) and intend one day to wear it again.

With all the hard work on the place, that day is coming, boys and girls. Perhaps I shall post a Maggie 30 years later picture without the cigarette. Nick and I quit in 2006 and are never going back down to that hell again.
