In the footage filmed in a bar, Alex Martinez, a lead client partner can be seen calling the richest man in the world who could soon be his boss, “literally special needs”.
“So I can’t even take what you’re saying seriously,” he continued to the undercover reporter.
Billionaire Bill Gates says there’s a 50 per cent chance the next pandemic will be caused by man-made climate change or be deliberately released by a bio-terrorist.
During a speech on Friday at the United States Naval Academy’s Class of 2022 Graduation and Commissioning Ceremony, President Joe Biden claimed that he was appointed to the military school in 1965. However, the claim seems unlikely given the clash with other confirmed details of his life at the time.
Biden said he was appointed to the academy by then-Delaware Sen. J. Caleb Boggs in 1965, but that is the same year Biden graduated from the University of Delaware – and the Naval Academy does not offer advanced degrees, the New York Post reported.
What they fear the most is you, thinking for yourself. Within those three words are two implicit concepts. Thinking is the fundamental essential for human existence. It can be hard work, but nobody will disparage it on that basis. Attacks on thought, and there have been many, tend to be more subtle.
The for yourself is more problematic. For one thing, it sounds selfish. Nowadays you can present yourself as damn near any kind of humanitarian, even when you’re carrying all sorts of obviously hypocritical baggage, and you’ll go unchallenged. State that your first concern is your own welfare, not the common good or the public interest, and most people will mentally consign you to the ninth circle of hell. Sixty-five years after publication, Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand’s tribute to the self-interested mind, is still denounced. Soon it will be banned in those jurisdictions that have not already done so.
And who wants to be consigned to the ninth circle of hell? Think for yourself and worse, dare to speak your questions, speculations, hypotheses, and conclusions, and you open yourself to isolation and attack. The killer bees in the hive mind mind are viscous, relentless, and remorseless, inflicting stinging, sometimes deadly, cancellation. Then there’s that part of thinking many don’t like—the hard work. It’s easier to join the hive. Never underestimate laziness as a human motivation.

THIS WEEK’S EDITORIAL
LAVROV EXPLAINS THE FUTURE: Sergei Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister was reported last week as saying “Now that the West is taking the position of a dictator, our economic ties with China will grow even faster”.
He also said “this will give us the opportunity to implement plans for the development of the Far East and Eastern Siberia. The majority of projects with China are concentrated there. This is an opportunity for us to realize our potential in the field of high technology, including nuclear energy, but also in a number of other areas”.
In spontaneous remarks on the White House lawn this morning, President Joe Biden pointed his shaky gun control sights at the most popular self-defense cartridge in America.
Recalling a trip to a New York trauma center, Biden said:
“They said a .22-caliber bullet will lodge in the lung, and we can probably get it out—may be able to get it and save the life. A 9mm bullet blows the lung out of the body. So the idea of these high-caliber weapons is, uh, there’s simply no rational basis for it in terms of…self-protection, hunting.”
It’s not the first time Biden has condemned 9mm weapons. In 2019, Biden noted that Americans aren’t allowed to own machine guns or bazookas before asking, “Why should we allow people to have military-style weapons including pistols with 9mm bullets and can hold 10 or more rounds?”
As the New York Post notes, 9mm pistols dominate Americans’ holsters, nightstands and gun cabinets:
According to Shooting Industry magazine, 9mm pistols accounted for 56.8% of all handguns made in the US during 2019. In all, more than 15.1 million 9mm guns were produced in this country during the 2010s. The possibility of outlawing or otherwise regulating such weapons are likely to be a non-starter among conservatives and gun rights advocates.
SAN FERNANDO, CA—A lifeguard at the San Fernando Community Pool reportedly refused to jump in and save a drowning child who was fighting for his life in 6 feet of water because it would constitute risking his life. The lifeguard in question, Peter Stroll, claimed to be following standard lifeguarding procedure.
“Are you kidding? I can’t save you right now. I might drown!” said Stroll as he picked up the phone to call for help. “According to the procedure, I will block all access to the pool and call for highly trained Coast Guard rescue divers to arrive.”
The child’s father attempted to jump into the pool and save his kid but was prevented by the determined lifeguard.
“Sir, I can’t let you risk your own life. Let me do my job!” Stroll reportedly said in between whistle blows.
The ‘True Cost of Living’ index shows millions of low- and middle-income families don’t earn enough to buy necessities like shelter, food, and child care
For several years now, many of us have focused on the scourge of “fake news.” But much as we may blame avaricious social platforms and conniving public figures for driving widespread cynicism, we need to consider the role played by another more innocuous reality: misleading statistics.
Flagging confidence in both government and the mainstream media tracks decades in which official economic indicators—most notably those that purport to gauge the cost of living—have fundamentally failed to mirror middle-class reality.
Perhaps “fake” is too strong a term to describe the data-driven consumer price index (CPI), which serves as the U.S. government’s proxy for inflation. But the narrative the CPI has long burnished—namely that, since 2000, ordinary expenses have been fairly manageable amid rising wages—is entirely debunked by new research.
The year 2030 was chosen because of its importance to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs are a collection of 17 interlinked objectives adopted by the United Nations in 2015 with the ostensible goal of ending poverty, protecting the planet, and spreading peace and prosperity to all people by 2030. Their actions, however, regularly belie their stated intentions. Continue reading “I OWN LAND AND LIFE HAS NEVER BEEN BETTER”
Fresh off his disturbingly authoritarian response to trucker protests against Covid-19 vaccine mandates, Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau turned the dystopia dial all to way to 11 on Monday, introducing legislation that would completely freeze the import, purchase or sale of handguns, while compelling compensated forfeitures of “assault weapons.”
“Other than using firearms for sport shooting and hunting, there is no reason anyone in Canada should need guns in their everyday lives.“
Flanked by families of shooting victims and a group of officials that included Canada’s “Minister of Women and Gender Equality and Youth,” Trudeau declared, “It will be illegal to buy, sell, transfer or import handguns anywhere in Canada.”
