This is my periodic update regarding how TBP is performing regarding pageviews, visitors, and other metrics. Ron Unz recently wrote an article comparing his website to many other well know websites for July. He used a website called Similarweb to gather the data seen below. You will recognize most of the websites, with ZeroHedge far and away the most popular website in this category. The list is dominated by right leaning sites, but has a significant number of lefty websites in the list. It is interesting to see where TBP compares to these well known sites.

TBP UPDATE

As you can see below, TBP views hit a multi-year low of 627,000 in June. This is down from the all-time high of 1.4 million in November of 2021.

To try and regain some of those visitors, I deleted two more of the pop-up ad companies, which should improve the user experience for those without ad-blockers, while further reducing TBP ad revenue. By getting rid of these ads, Steve Quayle is again going to post links to TBP articles. In addition, I renewed my relationship with Whatfinger by placing their ads/videos on the sidebar. They will also begin to link to TBP articles.

TBP SHRINKAGE

Time for one of my periodic updates about TBP, and it isn’t great. Below is a chart showing monthly page views and visitors dating back to September 2021. As you can plainly see TBP has been in a downward trend in both page views and visitors since March 2022. The peak for TBP was November 2021 when we achieved 1.4 million page views and 500,000 visitors. That was an average of 46,000 page views per day and 16,700 visitors per day. In recent months the page views have been in the 900,000 range, with visitors of about 180,000.

That is a 35% decline in page views and and a 65% decline in visitors from the peak. So far in April we are pacing at 750,000 page views and 140,000 visitors. Being a numbers guy, I had always striven to continuously grow the site. So these trends have been very disappointing to me. There are a myriad of reasons for this decline, but I am beginning to accept the fact that TBP will be a site that gets 23,000 to 28,000 page views per day, which was where we were in early 2021.

ANNUAL TBP BEG-A-THON

My master plan to sustain TBP was to do quarterly beg-a-thons to keep donations flowing to the site. As usual, I never follow my business plan. I checked and haven’t done a post like this since March 2020 at the start of this plandemic.

What I find interesting is that page views are at all-time highs, up 50% versus last year in recent months, but donations are lower than they were at this time last year. I guess the page views are being driven by one-time readers and not new TBP community members. Or everyone is spending their money on 30% more expensive food because of Powell’s transitory inflation.
