New Red Gold Standard Threatens the Dollar

From Peter Reagan

This week, Your News to Know rounds up the latest top stories involving gold and the overall economy. Stories include: Credit currencies no more, how a $300 jump in gold could happen this autumn, and money managers’ pros and cons of owning gold.

Are we looking at a rebirth of the gold standard under an Asian Bretton-Woods?

This recent analysis of Russian and Chinese economic developments caught my eye. An in-depth review of the current state of the global financial system, combined with speculation regarding the ultimate goals of the latest agreements between Russia and China, leads us in uncomfortable directions.

As we know, sanctions have punished the West without stopping Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. This is not debatable – it’s simply fact. The U.S. has seen diminishing returns from levying financial sanctions against unfriendly nations for decades now. Sanctions are a form of economic warfare that don’t put soldiers’ lives at risk, that cost a fraction as much as military action and are far more politically palatable than armed conflict.

A Genius, Alright

Guest Post by Eric Peters

Elon Musk is said – by some – to be a “genius.” Arguably, a more accurate honorific would be king, used in the Elvisian sense.

Elvis, of course, was the King – of rock n’ roll. There was no else like him, insofar as his persona especially. His jump-suited image has become an icon of Americana. Even people who don’t know his music know him – and that is what makes him the King.

Musk is like that in his own way. He has become synomous with the electric cars that bear another man’s name and riff off the legacy of the man who created what was arguably the very first volkswagen (lower case) or people’s car.

Surviving The War

Guest Post by The Zman

There was a time when normal Americans thought about how to survive a nuclear exchange with the Russians. During the Cold War, this seemed like a real prospect, so there was a reason to think about it. Into the 1960’s school kids had to do the hide under the desk thing, which was mostly about conditioning people to accept permanent war, but it conditioned people to the idea of being nuked. How to make it through a nuclear war became something of an industry.

There were two schools of thought on the subject back then. One said that any hint of a nuclear attack by either side would result in a mag dump by both sides. The United States and the Soviet Union were in a prisoner’s dilemma. If either side showed restraint, then they risked the other side striking first and possibly making it impossible to retaliate, so logic said to send all of your missiles first. Both sides accepted this logic which is why a system was put in place to prevent it.

From a survival perspective, such a scenario made the prospects for anyone living through it extremely low. The arsenals at the time were larger than today and the assumption was they could wipe out all life on the planet. The initial blasts would kill most people, but the fallout and nuclear winter would kill the rest. Even if people survived somehow, the numbers would be tiny. There was simply no point in preparing for what would be instant death for almost everyone.

Opinion: Joe Biden Wandering Away from the Podium Is A Powerful Statement On Quiet, Dignified Leadership

Via The Babylon Bee

Article Image

A few days ago, President Joe Biden moseyed away from his podium while speaking to a group of FEMA workers. As he did so, worried aides and officials stifled their panic enough to keep their voices steady, trying to beckon him back where he was still needed. At that moment, we saw what we have so often seen from our President: independence of thought and courage in an atmosphere of quiet, dignified leadership.

Putin’s Full Speech (text) Regarding The Annexation

This is an incredibly important speech … perhaps THE most important in Putin’s term.  It was meant not only for the people of Russia … but, a message to the world.  He speaks in plain, simple, clear language … sans political bullshit … which everyone with an IQ over 90 can understand.

As everyone knows, and Putin himself has said, he does not bluff.  He knows exactly what he is up against, what is at stake for Russia and the world, and what must be done to defeat today’s unipolar world. (Paul Craig Roberts, moran extraordinaire, who for 7 months has said “Putin doesn’t realize … blah blah blah” is now proven to be full of shit.  Putin knows!)  Putin didn’t say directly …  “The West can go fuck themselves, we no longer will engage with them.” ….. but, then again, he sort of did.

Putin jokingly asks what time 'invasion' will start - Kremlin - TeleTrader.com

“You should know by and large we haven’t started anything …. YET.”

I have been attempting for several days to collect my thoughts on the Russo-Ukrainian War and condense them into another analysis piece, but my efforts were consistently frustrated by the war’s stubborn refusal to sit still. After a slow, attritional grind for much of the summer, events have begun to accelerate, calling to mind a famous quip from Vladimir Lenin: “There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen.”

This has been one of those weeks. It began with the commencement of referenda in four former Ukrainian oblasts to determine whether or not to join the Russian Federation, accompanied by Putin’s announcement that reservists would be called up to augment the force deployment in Ukraine. Further excitement bubbled up from the Baltic seabed with the mysterious destruction of the Nordstream pipelines. Nuclear rumors circulate, and all the while the war on the ground continues.

AP’s ANSWER TO ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION:  ‘OPERATION LUCID’ – “Sparked by the Directorate of Military Intelligence and MI6 rumours that Britain had set fire to the English Channel to defeat a German invasion in 1940 quickly spread around the world. Highly popular in America, the incendiary ‘Big Lie’ became Britain’s first significant propaganda victory of the Second World War.

Yet the unlikely deception was founded in fact. Dead German soldiers were washed ashore on British beaches, a secret Petroleum Warfare Department tested lethal flame barrages on land and sea, and fire ships were hastily dispatched to enemy ports as part of ‘Operation Lucid’. https://www.thehistorypress.co.uk/publication/burn-the-sea/9780750965989/

The Curious Whodunit Of Nordstreams 1 & 2

Authored by Tom Luongo via Gold, Goats, ‘n Guns blog,

The old world broke this week. It was blown up cynically by someone who thought this would advance their agenda the most.

The act of vandalizing a major piece of physical infrastructure, targeting civilian populations, isn’t unprecedented in history, but it does signal that everything we thought we knew about the rules of the current game was wrong.

Well, for most people anyway.

When I spoke in June at the Ron Paul Institute Conference on Foreign Policy I described the game of geopolitics as a seven-player game of the ancient Chinese game, Go.

And in that game we’ve reached an inflection point where some factions are coalescing and others are splintering. The faction that is unwilling to compromise on their future is the most dangerous one at the table.

My conclusion then was that those ‘who think they are entitled to run the world’ will flip the game board.

WW3, Clown-World Edition

Up until now, I’ve refrained from commenting on the war in Ukraine, but I’m forced to do so now.

I previously quoted the line from Matrix Reloaded:

Morpheus: Everything begins with choice.

Merovingian: No. Wrong. Choice is an illusion, created between those with power, and those without. …  ‘Why’ is what separates us from them, you from me. ‘Why’ is the only real social power, without it you are powerless.

The WHY of Things

If  you don’t understand the “why” of things, you will never be able to fully understand what’s happening; your conclusions will be merely reflections of your own biases.

It comes down to a few simple points, which I’ve explained several times over, but will repeat here.

Stockman Slams Washington’s Pointless War On Behalf Of A Fake Nation

Authored by David Stockman via Contra Corner blog,

The messages are coming in loud and clear today – from the crashing pound, to repudiation of establishment governments in Italy, Sweden and more to come, to Hungarian Prime Minister Orban’s call to end the Sanctions War and do so pronto.

So let’s be clear: Washington’s dunderheaded intervention in the intramural spat between Russia and Ukraine and the accompanying global Sanctions War is the surely the stupidest, most destructive project to arise from the banks of the Potomac in modern times. And the architects of this perfidious folly—Biden, Blinkin, Sullivan, Nuland et. al.—cannot be condemned harshly enough.

After all, this madness is being pursued in the name of abstract policy norms—the rule of law and sanctity of borders—that make Washington a laughing stock. More than any other nation on planet earth (and by a long-shot), it has serially and blatantly violated these standards scores of times in recent decades.

Among other actions, Washington’s interventions in Serbia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Syria, Somalia etc were not only pointless; they were also a self-evident violation of the very rule of law and sanctity of borders upon which Washington now beats its breasts ever more stridently.

Anti-Globalism Is Going Mainstream – Which Means Engineered Disaster Is About To Strike

Authored by Brandon Smith via Alt-Market.us

I have noted in the past that criminals tend to brag about their criminality when they believe there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Frankly, in their narcissism many of them can’t help but revel in the moment and let everyone know how “superior” they are to the rest of us. We witnessed many moments like this from elitists within globalists institutions the past couple of years at the height of the pandemic pandemonium.

There were people like the globalist academics at MIT proclaiming that we were “never going back to normal” and that we were going to have to accept the loss of many of our freedoms for the rest of our lives in order to combat the spread of covid. There were people like Klaus Schwab declaring the beginning of the “Great Reset” and the launch of what the Davos crowd calls the “4th Industrial Revolution.” There have also been MANY political leaders like Joe Biden that strut around on the media stage accusing ideological opponents (conservatives mostly) of being “enemies of democracy.”

As Gates Doubles Down on Digital IDs, Critic Warns of ‘Gravest Technological Threat’ to Liberty

Guest Post by Michael Nevradakis, Ph.D.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation this month announced $200 million in new funding — part of an overall $1.27 billion commitment in support of “global health and development projects” that include creating a global digital ID system.

gates foundation investment digital id feature

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) this month said it will invest $200 million in digital ID projects, encompassing “digital public infrastructure, including civil registry databases and digital ID” to help meet the 2030 target date for reaching the United Nation’s (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The $200 million in new funding — part of an overall $1.27 billion commitment by the BMGF in support of “global health and development projects,” is closely tied to Goal 16.9 of the SDGs, for which “digital identity programs are supposedly needed,” Reclaim the Net reported.

The funding adds to several existing BMFG-supported global digital ID initiatives, even as such initiatives come under fire for violating people’s right to privacy.

The case against fluoride

Guest Post by Steve Kirsch

We’ve been fluoridating water since the 1950’s. The science is similar to vaccines: they simply forgot to do the all-cause mortality and morbidity studies showing the benefits outweigh the harms.

At the AB 2098 event in Sacramento today, Jay Sanders of fluoridealert.org walked up to me and asked me, “Can I give you a book?”

This is the sort of life changing question that got Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to realize that vaccines aren’t safe.

So after a 10 second hesitation to overcome my cognitive dissonance (<sarcasm on>since as we all know fluoridation must be safe since it is mandated everywhere <sarcasm off>), I said yes, and I ended up with a copy of “The Case against Fluoride: How Hazardous Waste Ended Up in Our Drinking Water and the Bad Science and Powerful Politics That Keep It There.
