Felicity Huffman, Lori Loughlin among 50 snared in elite college cheating scam, authorities say

Actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin were among more than four dozen people charged in a nationwide college admissions cheating scandal that involved wealthy individuals paying up to $6.5 million to place their children into elite universities, according to court records revealed Tuesday.
The alleged scam — which placed students into top colleges such as Yale, Georgetown, Stanford, University of Southern California, UCLA and the University of Texas — was run by William Rick Singer, from California, who helped parents get their children admission through bribes, court documents unsealed in Boston showed. Officials have been investigating the case, named “Operation Varsity Blues,” for more than a year.
Singer, who authorities said will plead guilty to racketeering, ran the charity, Key Worldwide Foundation, which received $25 million in total to guarantee the admissions, U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling said during a Tuesday news conference. The charitable foundation was allegedly used as a front to run the scam.

A Philadelphia teacher is no longer in the classroom after she allegedly took bribes from students in exchange for better grades.
NBC10 first received a tip that Amanda Richardson, a humanities teacher at the LINC High School on W. Erie Ave., was accused of accepting bribes from her students and giving them good grades in return. A spokesperson for the Philadelphia School District confirmed with NBC10 they were investigating the allegations.

But the Edgewater city government wants to seize a choice piece of waterfront land for itself.
The spot in question is owned by a developer, the Maxal Group. Maxal bought the property for about $26 million and then spent millions more to clean it up. They planned to build apartments and, to please the town, parks, a school and a ferry stop for commuters.

While the media is transfixed with the just released Washington Post leak of a private Donald Trump conversation from 2005 in which he was speaking “lewdly” about women, and for which he has apologized, roughly at the same time, Wikileaks released part one of what it dubbed the “Podesta emails“, which it describes as “a series on deals involving Hillary Clinton campaign Chairman John Podesta. Mr Podesta is a long-term associate of the Clintons and was President Bill Clinton’s Chief of Staff from 1998 until 2001. Mr Podesta also owns the Podesta Group with his brother Tony, a major lobbying firm and is the Chair of the Center for American Progress (CAP), a Washington DC-based think tank.”
While the underlying story in this specific case involves the alleged kickbacks received by the Clinton Foundation from the Russian government-controlled “Uranium One”, a story which has been profiled previously by the NYT, and about which Wikileaks adds that “as Russian interests gradually took control of Uranium One millions of dollars were donated to the Clinton Foundation between 2009 and 2013 from individuals directly connected to the deal including the Chairman of Uranium One, Ian Telfer. Although Mrs Clinton had an agreement with the Obama White House to publicly identify all donors to the Clinton Foundation, the contributions from the Chairman of Uranium One were not publicly disclosed by the Clintons”, what caught our attention is an email from Tony Carr, a Research Director at Hillary for America, in which he lay outs hundreds of excerpts from the heretofore missing transcripts of Hillary Clinton’s infamous Wall Street speeches, with an emphasis on those which should be flagged as they may be damaging to Hillary.
But first, here are the greatest hits as conveniently flagged by the Clinton Campaign itself on page one of the 80 page addendum dubbed “awkward”

Latest Hillary Email Scandal Reveals State Department “Favors” To Clinton Foundation

In the latest installment over Hillary Clinton’s email scandal, conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch released 296 pages of new emails from Hillary’s personal server, most of which were not handed over as part of the 30,000 emails originally provided to the FBI. The emails were provided to Judicial Watch pursuant to a FOIA request. These new emails, among other things, demonstrate how the Clinton Foundation and it’s top donors sought favors from the State Department within 3 months of Hillary taking the Secretary of State position.
According to an article in the Wall Street Journal:
“That the Clinton Foundation was calling in favors barely 3 months into Hillary Clinton’s tenure at the State Department is deeply troubling, and it is yet another reminder of the conflicts of interest and unethical wheeling and dealing she’d bring to the White House,” said Michael Short, a spokesman for the Republican National Committee, in a statement Tuesday.
The first request for a “favor” came in April 2009, just 3 months after Hillary was confirmed as Secretary of State on January 21, 2009. The request came from Doug Band, a long-time adviser to Bill Clinton who helped him setup the Clinton Foundation after his Presidency. Per the email exchange, Mr. Band reached out the State Department to ask a “favor” on behalf of a person who the Clinton Foundation had recently setup with a trip to Haiti which he found “eye-opening” (the name of the person seeking the favor was redacted from the email exchange). Yes, well trading taxpayer dollars intended for earthquake relief in exchange for lucrative gold mining contracts from the Haitian government can be quite “eye-opening” indeed (see our post “Clinton Cash: “Devastating” Documentary Reveals How Clintons Went From “Dead Broke” To Mega Wealthy“).

EVER WONDER WHY DETROIT IS A CORRUPT SHITHOLE?
Liberals and their sad stories about crumbling public schools make me want to throw up. Not only have the parasitic teacher’s unions sucked their public school systems dry, but the corruption, stealing, and outright criminality of the teachers and principals is blatant. They don’t give a fuck about the children and calls for more money from taxpayers needs to be crushed.
Detroit Principals Charged With Taking $900k In Kickbacks
Federal authorities have charged at least 12 school principals in Detroit with participating in a $900,000 kickback scheme involving fake school supply orders which wasted millions of dollars while district leaders begged for more state money.
Businessman Norman Shy made $908,500 in payments to school principals in return for receiving a series of Detroit Public Schools (DPS) contracts to deliver school supplies, totaling about $2.7 million, according to court documents. The alleged scheme was quite involved, with principals submitting fake invoices to cover for Shy, who often never even delivered the promised school supplies.
The federal probe implicates Shy and 12 current and former principals and one administrator. The least-involved member is accused of receiving $4,000 in bribes, while Cara Flowers, the assistant superintendent for DPS’s special education department, is accused of taking a whopping $324,000. The alleged kickbacks included not only cash payments, but gift cards and even free home repairs.
Astonishingly, less than two months ago, one of the charged principals, Ronald Alexander, appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, where his sad story about a crumbling school building spurred DeGeneres to make a $500,000 donation, touted as her most generous gift ever.
U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade told The Associated Press the accused principals have been cooperating with the DPS investigation, suggesting a plea bargain is likely.

CLINTON FOUNDATION HELPING THE WORLD

In 1981 I was a fresh young fellow, just out of college, and needed a job. I joined the Port Arthur Research Laboratories of Texaco Inc. in Port Arthur, TX, which was the most lucrative offer I had gotten out of college. It was one of a couple of offers I had received at the time; another was a company that made fibers for carpets and other things, Millikan. There was something of a stigma on them at the time, for periodically the owner would fire an entire corps of engineers if something went wrong, and was known for it; other companies would eagerly hire the fallen, since it was known that Millikan did this, despite having only hired the best he could find. But I was not interested in this, so I went for stability, which was TXC (their stock exchange symbol back then, hereafter a handy shortcut for the name); they were known for their veteran employees, and rarely fired anyone except for theft, incompetence or similar good reasons. I was neither a thief nor incompetent, so I took their offer.
Here I must apologize; despite the passage of over a quarter-century, I have not been able to establish that ALL the people I worked with are dead, retired or otherwise employed. And TXC had people of honor, character and discipline, which I have come to value wherever I find them; so EVERY name here is a pseudonym, to protect those who might still be serving in some capacity for their successor company, which turned out to be mainly Chevron, or somewhere else. I have no interest in gossip, nor maligning by association those who honorably do their jobs in this world. The worst perpetrators in these stories are dead, so it serves no purpose to name them either.
This article is to demonstrate by example the challenge of working honorably for an organization that is corrupt at the top. And how, despite the existence of honorable men and women (such as those who worked for TXC all over the world), a corrupt organization is doomed eventually.
I didn’t work at PARL for long; about eighteen months. The Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers were restless; there was strike fever in the air at the oil refinery next door, but the Research lab staff didn’t think there would be one; after all, they had “gone out” a few years earlier, and several members of the union had lost cars, boats, even homes when they had insufficient funds coming in to keep up their payments; they were too hurt from the last time to go out again so soon, so if there was a strike it would be short, a kind of face-saving gesture.
Bye Bye Hillary? Or a Fight to the Bitter End?
Hillary’s dream of becoming the first woman president is evaporating rapidly. She leads Bernie Sander by only 8 point in New Hampshire when she was supposed to be the big name and her coronation as the next Democratic candidate was claimed to be the safest bet in Washington. But her obstruction of justice has violated everything from Treason taking money from foreign government for her “charity” to dodging subpoenas which was an obstruction of justice and violating the Freedom of Information Act. Her trust rating collapsed to 28%, showing that even Jeb Bush would clean her clock. Bill will come to the rescue to try to raise more money for her, but this not about money.
As I am stated, there was NO POSSIBLE WAY that the FBI would have started an investigation into Hillary and her obstruction of justice (treason) for conducting personal business intermixed with state business from a private server. All along, those of us who understand the interworking of Capitol Hill could read between the lines that Obama supported Biden, not Hillary. I expect Biden to announce he is entering by October. Hillary seems not to fear prosecution whereas any other unwanted candidate would back off with the onset of an investigation into criminal activity. The talk of the town is when will Biden enter. Now the press is picking up saying it’s time for Joe.
