Congress Makes Last-Ditch Amnesty Push

Guest Post by Joe Guzzardi

Emboldened by their better-than-anticipated mid-term election performance, the Democratic Party is entering the Lame Duck session with an aggressive agenda that includes one of it favorite goals – amnesty. Democrats will control the Upper Chamber during the 118th Congress, but the GOP by the narrowest margin – a handful of seats – will have the edge in the House.

The Democrats’ strong showing inspired President Biden to unequivocally pronounce that he plans to do “nothing“ differently during the two years that remain in his first term. Biden interprets the election results as an endorsement of his policies, especially at the border and with his quest to legalize as many illegal aliens as possible. DACA: Degenerate Arsonists? Come Aboard!

DACA: Degenerate Arsonists? Come Aboard!

The New York Times recently ran an indignant article on the Department of Justice’s arrest of two fugitives in Mexico who were accused of involvement in a mostly peaceful arson during the #BLM protests in the Twin Cities last year. As the Times described it: “One night in the Twin Cities, shortly after the killing of George Floyd, someone set a fire in a Goodwill.”

Why would law enforcement authorities be so obsessed with such a minor offense? “To fellow protesters,” the Times explained, “it’s part of an extreme crackdown on those who most fervently demonstrated against America’s criminal justice system.”

The Most Interesting Man in the World: Two Faces on the Same Coin

Presidential elections are planned distractions

To divert attention from the action behind the scenes

Like a game of chess when the house is a mess

Or a petty money squabble when your marriage is in trouble

Or a football game when there’s rioting in the streets

It’s just another movie, another song and dance

Another poor sucker who never had a chance

Before the big game there’s a coin toss and by the luck of the draw, decisions are made even before the teams take the field. It is the same for politics with, perhaps, the exception of luck having anything to do with the outcomes.  Regardless, the games play on our screens and we passively watch; anxiously waiting to see what happens.

It’s an all-or-nothing blitz to score big and winners take all.  In the interim, there are the commercial breaks revealing ads refined by the fires of focus groups and in boardrooms.

Edward Bernays, the influential pioneer of public relations and the nephew of iconic psychologist Sigmund Freud, wrote in his 1928 book “Propaganda” (page 37) regarding an “unseen mechanism of society” that constituted “an invisible government” that was, assuredly,  “the true ruling power of our country”. Bernays added:  “We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of.”

A Satirical Dream: Trump’s 2019 State of the Union Address

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

Mr. Speaker, Mr. Vice President, Members of Congress, the First Lady of the United States, and my fellow Americans:

It’s been another year since your president has stood before you to, once again, deliver yet another State of the Union address.

Tonight, however, will not be the standard fare.  Instead of half-truths and false optimism, I am going to set aside all that in order to say what I believe is true.

Dear citizens, we now stand a crossroads and we must choose.  We must choose if we are to move forward and deal with the real problems facing our nation, or to progress as a country of corruption; whether to return to our roots as an honorable republic – a nation of laws,  or to continue our decline into lawlessness and the abyss.

Something’s Happening Here

Guest Post by The Zman

True believers are incapable of accepting disconfirmation. The reason for this is their individual identity becomes so entangled in the cause, that anything contradicting the cause is viewed as a personal assault. That’s why Progressives react to contacts with reality as if they have been violently assaulted. For them, there is no line separating themselves and the cause. An assault on the cause, even just contrary facts, is felt like a kick to the groin. It’s why Progressive women equate free speech with violence.

Trump, Congress Ignore Unsustainable Population Growth, Environmental Consequences

In the State of the Union address, President Trump proposed a four-pillar immigration plan that would include ending chain migration. But President Trump didn’t specify when his plan would end the chain, an understandable evasion since it would continue under the deal he’s pursuing for 15 to 20 years.

During those years, the four million prospective immigrants on the backlogged waiting list would eventually enter, and as lawful permanent residents would be able to compete with American citizens in the labor market.

AMNESTY IS A FACEPLANT

Guest Post by Ol’ Remus

art-remus-ident-04.jpg Once again the citizenry is being swindled. It’s official. Amnesty is on offer. No matter how many conditions are attached, putting amnesty on the table is a faceplant. Immigration law hasn’t been enforced since the amnesty of the 1986 and, without enforcement, electing representatives and passing laws mean nothing. Why should anyone believe it’s different this time? It’s never different this time.

Don Surber is an astute Appalachian whose opinions I generally rate with rare earths and natural pearls, but he goes all Scott Adams about this:

THE LEFT’S DIRTY LITTLE SECRET – CLEANED BY ROSA!

Guest Post by Ann Coulter
One thing no liberal will ever turn down is the opportunity to get a standing ovation for accusing someone else of racism.

Democrats have placed their opening bid in the immigration talks on Trump’s 10-yard line — a hilariously unbalanced “compromise” that is worse than their original proposal. Now, they are battering him with accusations of racism to force him into an amnesty deal that he was specifically elected to prevent.

Forced to choose, soccer moms are going with MSNBC — and, hey, if that means we’ll still have Rosa to clean the house, well, that’s OK, too!

Liberals have gotten a free ride for too long on using phony claims of “racism” to promote policies that hurt black people but help themselves. It’s like spoiling a kid; by the time he’s 15, it’s impossible to get him to clean his room.

Will Trump Go Sloppy and Soft on Illegal Immigration?

Guest Post by Kurt Schlichter

I am absolutely delighted at the fake outrage over Donald Trump correctly assessing much of the Third World as a “Schumerhole.” It’s about time we had some real talk about immigration. For decades, the open borders establishment has tried to blind us with a blizzard of deceptive euphemisms designed to hide the truth. “Dreamers.” “Undocumented workers.” “Nation of immigrants.” Enough!

IT TURNS OUT BANNON WAS TRUMP’S BRAIN

Guest Post by Ann Coulter

In order to prove he doesn’t have dementia, as alleged in a recent book, President Trump called a meeting with congressional leaders on Tuesday — and requested that it be televised.

Ivanka: Show them at your best, Daddy!

He then proceeded to completely sell out the base and actually added to his problems by appearing senile.

In a half-dozen exchanges — which, again, he wanted televised — Trump responded to remarks as if he had no clue what the person was saying. One senator would talk — he’d agree. Someone else would say the exact opposite — he’d agree with that, too.

Actual exchange:

Gutierrez Duplicitous on DACA

Guest Post by Kevin Lynn

There is a joke that goes, “how can you tell when a politician is lying?  Answer: When his lips are moving!”  Last Tuesday I attended a protest outside the Capitol building sponsored by Casa De Maryland and the very misguided Service Employees International Union (SEIU.)  I would say somewhere north of 2,000 protesters showed up to demand congress pass what is now being termed a “Clean” DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) bill that will grant legal status to roughly 800,000 individuals who were brought to the United States as children.

Trump’s GOP amnesty will bring in millions of … Democrat voters

Guest Post by Daniel Horowitz

Last year, President Trump promised that the days of people coming here illegally to get citizenship are over. Well, now those days are only beginning and will continue in perpetuity. Trump is in the process of building an open border, and the American citizen will pay for it in the form of crime, welfare, education, health care, and a permanent Democrat majority in Texas, Arizona, and Florida.

After selling us out, not just last night with his Pelosi meeting but for the past two weeks of messaging on immigration, Trump is now trying to repair his status with the base on Twitter. After all, Twitter has become his go-to forum to hide his true policy outcomes and keep the base happy with political morphine. Yet his defensive statements are even more offensive to conservatives than the original reports.

I Explain the Persuasion Techniques President Trump is using on The Wall and DACA

Guest Post by Scott Adams

You might enjoy my Periscope playback from this morning in which I describe the several persuasion techniques President Trump is using on the topic of The Wall and DACA.

Here’s the quick summary.

Visual Persuasion: President Trump describes border security (a concept) with the word “wall” because you can visualize it. Our visual sense is our most persuasive path for influence. It would be weak persuasion to talk about border security as a concept without a visual.

NO AMNESTY IS A GOOD AMNESTY

Guest Post by Ann Coulter
Donald Trump is being told that amnesty for “Dreamers,” or DACA recipients, will only apply to a small, narrowly defined group of totally innocent, eminently deserving illegal immigrants, who were brought to this country “through no fault of their own” as “children.” (Children who are up to 36 years old.)

Every syllable of that claim is a lie, and I can prove it.

To see how DACA will actually work, let’s look at another extremely limited amnesty that was passed in 1986.
